If there's one thing I felt was sorely missing from Heroclix sculpt design was the original Infinity Challenge sculptors. I'm glad to see that Gears of War clix will remedy this situation with quality sculpts for the ultimate bro d-bag video game of all time.

Well, i'm glad the Street Fighter clix are being generally well-recieved. The reaction i've been seeing from the board is less than stellar. As a gamer, this idea is awesome of having gaming involved. Seems, however, the purists are gonna kill it before i can ever see it go anywhere (Farther than it is now)

I'm sure the people that like the Halo clix will also be picking these up. As far as these additional licenses goes, I'll only be buying the Street Fighter clix, I can do perfectly fine without Halo, Gears, or the LotR clix. Admittedly if they make a Kat from Reach, I might pick that one up, she was my favorite. The Noble Team in general, albeit short lived, were fairly enjoyable.

Also, since I just thought of it, if they made an Aragorn / Gimlee duo figure, they could have the same "Fastball Special" special ability, and it could be called "Don't tell the elf."

i don't know about that. most people i know have never even played gears(or if they had it had only been a few times) but love halo.

they're 2 entirely different games. halo has alot of user created content. alot more. go on youtube & search forge world.

Sculpts are "meh" - they're not that bad, really, they're just not very dynamic. I think we've been a bit spoiled by a lot of the digital sculpts lately, though.

Funny thing is, based on the box art in the other thread, some of the sculpts look more interesting, so I'm not really sure why they decided to show off these three.

I'm a wee bit disappointed that none of these figures appear to be cutting any other figures into halves. Maybe they could at least be running or hiding behind cover or doing anything but just standing there. Does it cost more to have a little fun with the sculpt?

Poor posing aside, I like the detail on these, and I'd like to check them out.

I love the idea of branching into anything outside the world of superheroes. But in order to get the core players to come along for the ride the first products are going to have to be even higher quality than the core clix. These are sadly not even close.

Street Fighter looks amazing and will win over nay-sayers, this looks boring with lame sculpts and will lose those sitting on the fence. I hope LOTR is more along the lines of SF and not this lameness.

Well, to be fair, if there's a classic comic guy, who -hates- what's going on in Green Lantern right now with all the rainbow lantern nonsense. Brightest Day, Blackest Night sets, and a large part of DC75 really held no interest for them, and that's as comic booky as it gets.

There's just as decent a chance that they're going to pick a property that some people have no interest in, as they are the have a whole comic set based on a theme that they have no interest in. These really specific sets just make them easier to avoid, and you don't have to buy those boosters to get that Cave Carson you've always dreamed about.

I guess selling these at a video game store could get more folks into heroclix, but if they aren't producing enough of the regular sets (GSX, Cap, ect..) for the current players, what’s the point? Also I just hope they make these figs, the street fighter figs, and any other non-superhero figs in the future terrible, so I don't feel like I have to go buy them. Lastly, where are the W.I.L.D. C.A.T.S heroclix?

I haven't looked at the most reecent IG sets, but I think the Gears figures will be out of scale with the rest of the 40K figures. Most Heroclix figures are slightly larger then 40K figures.

Plus, it's been my experience that some stores sell single figure blind boosters (especially of Japanese import toys) pre-opened, so that people can pick what figure they want. They sell really well that way, especially at large comic or anime conventions, where there are enough people in attendance that every character is going to be on at least one person's want list.

I've never played the game gears but I have played Halo reach ...had little intrest until I saw myself with a gun...I better have the :a-sharpshooter: ability I was a double marksman with close combat wepons as well as 2 differnt long range weapons while I was in the Air Force....

THIS nailed my biggest concern for this game (and company) at this point.

All these licenses are starting to reek of major 'deja vu' all over again.this is looking like Lax is failing to recognize his mistakes and overloading this game with properties that will drain company resources ,instead of keeping the high quality, it may actually reduce it as far as sculpting and future HC products. (where's the 'DOH" emote when i really need it?)

So funny story. I was just reading the article on retirement and the New Modern Age definitions. Why would i buy a set of SF, LOTR or GOW Clix if I cant even use them in a tourney? They are not listed as HEROCLIX. Just that they are compatible. That sux. Will they do AP for any of these sets? Id love to play a "Other Clix" event. HrC, and all the rest would be fun together, of course we dont have a REAL AP system of HC so I guess that wishing a bit much huh? Oh well. Cool sculpts, I'll probably buy some.
