Wahoo! LOVE that dynamic new pose for Barry! The new Superman Robots will be a great addition to my three original ones! All-Star Lex Luthor, I see a lot of outwit with this guy! dare I hope to see.. Alexi Luthor from Earth-2 in this set, as well!? I can only hope! :classic:

I'm hoping for Superman Robot generics in boosters, perhaps with no S shield; the LE would have the Superman Ally TA and HSS, where the generics wouldn't.
Looking forward to Modern LoSH and remade Rogues (Captain Cold, Mirror Master, Weather Wizard, etc.).
Is that Batman Beyond Superman on the side of the Booster???
Looks like it. I'm hoping for a wildcard Superman!

This poster makes me really want this set. But I thought the BiBtB for Superman was suppose to be a definate version of Superman, not a Superman robot. But the funny thing is, this is the type of BiBtB figure that I would expect, that is, I expected a Superman robot for the BiBtB for Superman set. Then it's "no it's definate version of Superman"; but the Superman robot BiBtB makes me more happier.
After all, this version you do not have to subscribed to a magazine you do not like to get it.

Looks like they left the figure number in the picture filenames. Here they go:
001 Superman
015 Lex Luthor (prison outfit)
021 Sunboy
024 Matter Eating lad
037 Wildfire
045 Flash (Barry Allen)
So it looks like that Superman will be a common and Flash will be SR.
edit: I should clarify that the picture filenames I am referring to are here: http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?t=316396
Just download each fig's picture individually and you will see the number in the filename. This trick has shown the true fig number in past sets.

The Flashpoint part has me more interested, however.

I understand that Barry fits with the subtheme of Flashpoint, but we just received a vanilla Barry with the last set, so do we need another one now? We did have a need for a regular Barry - not dying Barry, not starfish Barry, not Lantern Barry, but plain ol' Barry Allen. We have him now. Another is not necessary.
That said, I do hope we receive a few new Rogues in this set. That will be the biggest influence on my purchase. Funds allowing, I'll probably pick up a brick, but the Legion of Super-Heroes is about the least interesting thing to me in comics. And if Flashpoint is a bunch of alternate reality guys, I again won't care as much. I like Superman...but one of the subthemes is a huge turn off for me and the other one may be.

Sad but the silver lining is the info we just got. Going to be a spendy clix year. May have to stick to big sets only.

On the top of 1 of the boxes looks like superman prime. This is the set I want more than anything else!
Looking good. Can't say I'm very excited about getting even more Flashs, but at least its tied into a modern story arc. Lots more Legion love, hopefully with a few key remakes. And of course everyone is interested in seeing how cheezy they made the new Supes. Supes Robot as the BibtB fig is a great choice too.

Citizen Cold and Pirate Deathstroke would be MUST OWN for me.
I'm hoping that "Featuring Flashpoint" means that the Flashpoint figures will be the chases, instead of Legionnaires being the chases.
If so, I suspect that some of the Flashpoint characters will have some cool alterna-dials (like the White Lanterns), but I'd be much sadder trying to track down chase Legion of Super-Heroes figures than I would be chasing Flashpoint interpretations of characters....assuming that the Flashpoints are not the first versions we get of characters like Jeannette/Banshee.

I can say with almost certainty that X-Men outsells Superman comicwise. Superman by himself won't sell out a clix set (and it pains me to say that since I love ole' Big Blue).
Nice detective work, but 33-48 are typically rares, making Flash one as well, assuming traditional numbering.
This has already been confirmed as a 54 fig set. The only way he isn't a SR is if there are 8 or less SRs in this set. I seriously doubt that is going to happen.

It sounds like they're sticking with the GSX distribution scheme, which is alright by me, especially with no superboosters to take up space.
I'd love to see a brick net me 4 SRs and a 'chase' like Slymm and Redd.

Flashpoint? Flashpoint?!? Are you f'ing kidding me? The X-Men get an entire set to themselves and Superman has to have Flashpoint? Oh now this really pisses me off.
Don't most sets have a sub theme? IIRC, Crisis was a Titans set originally. Arkham gave us a bunch of bad guys that've probably never fought Batman before (and lots that have), Brave and the Bold had minions as a sub-theme, Hammer of Thor had the Runaways, the Thunderbolts and the Guardians of the Galaxy. We had the Dark Avengers in Web (which I don't recall having a dramatic impact on Spidey) as well as the U-Foes and the Hulks... DC 75 had loads of Lanterns when it seemed like it was originally intended to be golden age guys... cripes, Secret Invasion had loads of Skrulls but seemed to lose focus on actual character selection.
Hell, GSX is the one set in a long, long time to have any real continuity. With the exception of Nextwave, ALL of those characters are from X-titles (Excalibur included.)
Superman and the Legion go hand in hand. He's in the future or working with them at least once a year. He's the Man of Tomorrow. And despite the fact that Flashpoint's been sort of boring so far I'd say let NECA run with it. At least it'll be out while the story's still relevant and by then we may be excited about these Elseworlds versions of characters. Sets get sub-themes. It's kind of always been that way.
Me personally? I liked GSX but I am not going to complain about getting more Legion guys. ANd they're not a strong enough title to sell a set on their own, so let 'em ride with their BFF.
And Flashpoint can come along to, despite still being in its awkward stage. At least it's not Brightest Day. Or Countdown. Blech.

what superman is that in the black and white in the side of the booster
That is Superman's costume from the Batman Beyond storylines, both in the ocmics and from the cartoon.
The Superman Robot is no different than The White Lantern Mini Chases from DC75 except they are not replacing a figure in the booster. So the BIBTB figure will be offered in addition to The Superman Robot
Wizkids already confirmed that the BIBTB figure would be included in a brick and would not take up a slot in the booster.
From Suttkus' The Evidence: Superman thread:
"The brick figure will be randomly inserted into a booster of each brick rather than a mail-away or in-store redemption. This will allow non-brick buyers a chance of getting it. (Bluesummers) This is a sixth figure in the booster, not a replacement. (Bluesummers 2)"
Judging from this it seems obvious to me that the Superman Robot is, in fact, the BIBTB fig.
I'll wait on this. I might just pass up on this set.
okay, I so love that the sub theme will be Flashpoint and Legion. It's so awesome to see the Prison tog Luthor~!
And Superman Beyond?! Say WHAT!?

I'm looking forward to this set, big time. I really enjoy Supes and the Legion of Superheroes, and hope they get a good run of figures in here. Flashpoint I am excited about, especially reading the Flashpoint Friday stuff over at the DC Universe blog... I have no problems with alternative takes on characters. Honestly, if there is a Batman or Wonder Woman in this set, the only ones I am interested in would be their Flashpoint versions, I've seen enough of the ones we know and love.... just like I've had my fill of Wolverine and Spider-Man, Hal Jordan and even my favorite character Flash. Currently my favorite Wonder Woman piece is the Artemis Wonder Woman from Justice League.
Now to Action_Jackson's statement about Flashpoint being in its awkward phase, yes, not having released the actual first issue is an awkward point within the timeline of an event. There is a ton I'm looking forward to in Flashpoint, not the least of which is what they do with Captain Cold (my favorite Flash villain).

As far is this set goes, I am looking forward to it. I enjoy Superman, and am looking forward to getting a new Hank Henshaw (Hopefully with Sinestro keyword) plus the Flashpoint miniset/theme will probably be fun.
Figure wise, I am still hoping for Red Son versions of Bats, Supes, and Hal, Flashpoint Bats and Aquaman and Siren from Brightest Day. If Aquaman is in it from Flashpoint really hoping he has Battle Fury to add to my anger management team.

I'm really disappointed that we don't seem to be getting Generation Lost/modern JLI as a sub theme. That book was the best part of Brightest Day. Maybe the only good part. Still a chance for a Time Master Booster Gold tying into Flashpoint, I suppose, and Max Lord controlled Supes prior to his initial demise, so maybe he'll appear in a villains slot. Still, too many characters who need to be done but don't seem like they will be.

Knowing only 8 out of 54 figures (maybe 9? I heard the champion chose Black Adam), it's really hard to judge how well I'm going to like this set but so far I like what they've shown. I'm not a huge Legion fan, but I do like the old-school Wildfire and Matter Eater Lad should be fun. I don't know anything about Flashpoint, guess it's time to hit Wikipedia. I'll be watching to see how this set develops and go from there.

He's been mind-controlled by Starro for years, so that migt play into the dial. In the comics he was sending crooks to the Phantom Zone without trial, so we may see that in the dial as well.

Is he in any way different than the 'regular' Superman IE different powers and such? I never followed that story line, or watched the cartoon, so I have no idea.
Luthor had been slowly introducing Kryptonite into people's bodies and the icing on the cake was a drug that was laced with K. the result was that Superman couldn't really go down into metropolis, he could only fly over it. Crowds of people weakened him. That might work into this supe's dial. Hypersonic and stealth with range powers, and a special limitation power that makes him less effective in Close combat?
I am much more excited for this set than I was for GSX. I hate mutants. The best part of that set was the super boosters (a cool idea).
I'm a DC guy and this set has pieces I've been waiting to get. Matter Eater Lad, Sun Boy and a Superman Robot that I should be able to get. It looks good to me. I hope we get many more unmade characters.
However, I'd like to know why some people are down on it. Is it the remake thing or something different?

He's Superman from the same future as Batman: Beyond this Superman was a Starro slave who killed several member of the JLU before Terry saved him from the monster Starro made him into. In the new Batman: Beyond comic series Superman thanks Terry for saving him from the monster Starro had turned Superman into thus allowing this future Superman to be turned in to a click.

I think we now know more about the Superman set then we know about the Captain America set... Sad
Are you serious?
- We have 15 characters confirmed so far for Cap. For Superman we only have 8 (maybe 9).
- We know about the new mechanic that is debuting in Cap (removable pieces)
- We know what the prize packs for Cap will be, including what the 3D objects are in it.
- We know of three sub-themes in Cap (Winter Guard, GLA and Secret Warriors). We only know of 2 sub-themes in Supes.
So how exactly do we know more about this set than Cap? Or have you just not been paying attention?

Since Smallville is ending how about this set we put in some Smallville style clix like a Chole or a Superman that is just called Clark or Clark Kent that has the powers but looks civilian? There are some people who are only in the show like Chole who based on the show being popular enough to last as long as it has deserves a clix figure. I don't know if there is a license issue that may prevent it but it'd be cool to get some Smallvilleclix and a superman themed set would be a nice way to bring in a couple.
Just hoping for a new General Zod.
Not big on Legion or Flashpoint alt villains.
Can't wait to see the "game-breaking" Black Adam we've been hearing about!

We could get a Chloe since she appeared in the excellent Jimmy Olsen back-up stories in Action Comics. Licensing would prevent a Tom Welling-like Clark.

Without asking for remakes (which are desperately needed for some members), I think it's just Invisible Kid and Starboy needed for the pre-Shooter stories. Light Lass, Princess Projectra, Ferro Lad and Chemical King would complete (IIRC) the hero roster for all the Shooter-era stories.
I'd be satisfied with a modern Starman/Thom instead of the purple-togs version, and any of the Invisible Kids would have the same power set. Light/Lightning Lass could stand the regular/LE treatment and as much as I dig the Silver Age Jeckie, the original Levitz version was the best.
Poor Ferro Lad and Chemical King! They can serve specific roles within any DC expansion, I don't think they would necessarily make the cut in a Superman set.
I sort of want to see a new single dial Captain Marvel and Krypto in this set.

How cool would it be to have Krypto flying shooting his heat vision using the clear red plastic?

Yeah, I'm pretty much hooked for a case.
Love the BiBtB. Hope that the new dial makes the Superman Robots all the more playable. :)

Got a close up look at the slick and it looks like we're getting a Superman Beyond piece in the set.

Superman may use Phasing Teleport as a free action if he has no action tokens.
quite undercosted for those damage values with that Sp he could essentially move and attack at full speed value for free too indomitable/outwit and later psychic blast?
its a nice dream but incredibly unrealistic all this and not unique to boot...

Seriously? I haven't read anything with Superman Beyond, but in the animated series I definitely don't remember him doing anything to deserve Outwit, Pulse Wave, or Enhancement, and no matter how fast he is 22 movement ignoring any terrain and with a free attack tucked in is beyond ridiculous. Attack values are over the top and 270 is way too low for that dial.
I mean, I'm all for him being powerful, heck I'm OK with him being one of (if not the) the most powerful Superman clicks we have, but keep it within reason (ha, as if such a thing can be said of Superman!).
I'm also hoping for a new single-dial Captain Marvel, and Krypto would be kind of fun. Not gonna hold my breath for either, though, and really Origin V Shazam still holds up pretty dang well.

Another Barry Allen??? :S
Men, I need a modern good version of Wally West.
First is the invasion of Hal Jordan's now the invasion of the Barry's
But I really want a Erradicator and Superboy (leather jacket version).
I hear you on the Superboy! been saying that for a while. am currently repainting a rookie Animal Man form Origins (or037) for my personal gratification. as for the custom dial I was thinking :star: Tactile Telekinesis: Superboy deals penarating damage to opposing characters with the Robot or Armor keyword. and since Animal Man is wearing goggles they're getting painted red & I'm giving him the Superman TA. BTW what ever happened to the Eradicator? seams like he vanished once Clark came back. <shrug> weird.

not a supes fan at all, but yea this set looks fun already!! not sure i like the Supes Robo as the BibtB fig. if these can be run as 'generics' it makes collecting them real spendy :ermm:
yeah & it's the same exact sculpt as the big one @ the top of the poster?! pardon me but would somebody pass the grey paint*

Superman is in fact a strategist, a genius and a scientist. He deserves perplex & outwit.

I could see some perplex, and maybe a bit of outwit late-dial, but his strategist/genius/scientist aspect is not played up to the same extent as it is for characters like Batman or Reed Richards. I don't dispute that he's a smart guy, but most superheroes/villains have above-average intellect and are devising crafty plots or doomsday devices all the time. Not all of them deserve "brainy" powers for 2/3 of their dial, though. The dial can reflect what a character is capable of, but I think it's also good for the dial to reflect what a character actually does, not just what they could do if they wanted to.

Superman re-create the Miracle Machine, he's next to Reed Richards in my "biggest scientists" book and in a superior level to Batman. I mean, Superman is a genius, but is not show every time. But is show when it counts.

I want a new Swamp thing. DC has beat their Fav Five to death already. Can't wait for the next set: Super-Bat Lantern vs. the Wonderflash. In stores starting... um i think they already did it.

If they are doing Superman give the damn Eradicator already!!
And Ma and Pa Kent duo. (with low defense, defend, and support that works with duo attack)
And Toyman with the giant duck
A new Mxy would be nice. And a Krypto remake.

yes a scientist he is, but rarely does he wait and plan out an attack before making one. hes a more im going to rush in a smash things type of super hero and that is why his dial reflects the way it does.
im not saying he is not a smart guy but usually the people who out wit don't get outwitted and super man has been outwitted on several occasions (ie Braniac, Batman, Lex Luthor) especially in the case of Superman Beyond where he couldn't even go near metropolis due to lex luthor introducing Kriptonite into the Bloodstream of the Citizens
yes smart guy but not deserving of outwit on his dial.

Exactly, which is why I'd say some perplex and/or outwit, probably late-dial. Because even if he is as (or arguably more) intelligent as someone like Reed or Batman, he still primarily relies on his superpowers when he's fighting whereas those two (Reed especially) tend to focus a lot on gadgetry and outsmarting their opponents.
