We continue our Green Lantern gravity feed previews with a quick tour of Sector 1414, and who better to show us around than the GL assigned to that Sector, Boodika! [...]

nice pair. ganthet is Really strait-forward, and boodikka is a change from all the lanterns who are solid ranged pieces. hehe, ganthet is gonna look funny in the movie ^^

Are the Guardians in the movies supposed to look like a cross between E.T. and the Greys?

I like the dials, though a bit of move and attack would be nice. Still, both don't take pushing damage, which offsets that problem a bit.
Going to have to repaint Boodikka into a more Lantern-green color scheme!
Well this just sold me a set of GL!!!

Really like ganthet. May not have any attack powers, but he makes it up with good attack values and damage. 200 points and quintessence make for a character i can fit into a lot of teams. I'm going to have to get out my shovel, cause i'm diggin this set so far!:laugh:

god im sick of the digital sculpt thing...:tired:
Boodikka looks beautiful and amazing on the card, the figure looks like garbage in comparison.. Why even bother putting the pics on the card when not 1 figure they make looks nearly that good? and using digital sculpts to preview sets (Superman set currently) feels slimy and underhanded, much like any other false advertisement, and that is what its called when you show someone something to make them want to purchase your product, then when they buy the product the content inside is no more than a rough, undetailed, imitation of the product previewed..
sorry for ranting.
I just think the "digital sculpting" process is crap, and would much rather see some real sculptors working for the company, and for these "digital artists" to get back to rendering models for video games or whatever else they do (neca makes lots of large, plastic, statue-like figures of movies and horror characters, maybe the digital guys could be moved to that junk)

I think that the dials could have been previewed more than 2 weeks before the set is coming out to avoid this sort of thing, but no big deal, its always nice to read the official write-ups.
I actually like this Ganthet more because he is much cheaper than the others, and has up front Outwit, something needed on the GLC teams. He's still a solid attacker and with all that Enhancement from the other GLC people will be pretty annoying going around doing 6-7.
Boodika, not so much. Her Indomitable saves her from being complete garbage. That up front.16 defense in this day and age is awful. Still, not a completely bad and can still be used.
I think its high time we see the dials for the Fast Forces before someone spoils them though.
Could help but notice Ganthet has named power "Immortal" (Impervious) AND HE ONLY HAS NINE CLICKS :laugh:.

True, but with her toughness she's most likely going to get hit to her 18 + Invulnerable clicks when she takes a solid shot, making her more of a threat at range. Ideally, it seems you want to move her up first turn, let a running shot piece nail her to put her on high defense, high attack and Psy Blast, then return fire next turn with Indomitable preventing the push damage.

I'm impressed... all of these figures seem pretty good.
I'll be taking a pass because I'm not a big GLC fan, but I'll definitely enjoy playing against these guys.

I know everyone seems to complain that every GL ever doesn't have TK, but thank goodness we're seeing some variety in lantern dials!
Something I figured out yesterday: You can play all 10 figures in set for 950 points. If you put on the GL ATA, it's a perfect 1,000 point team.

There ARE other guardians. Scar (as he is really a bad guy) doesn't count.
Not saying the new figure's bad, but enough is enough - lets have the rest of them, at least a generic guardian, for pete's sake.

It's a pity she doesn't have the Warrior keyword instead of Police. She'd be perfect on a team of clix chix that kix axx:

Because it's really expensive and useless on a GL theme team when the Honor Guard ATA would work much better for probably alot less points.

I've played the two Ganthets together and they can be murder. I recommend not so special, auto regeneration or even a protected card. Shellhead and repulsor shield work great as well.
Ganthet and Thing will be a fairly formidable tag team in 300 pt games.
Half the fun of thingatron is having thing push to attack like made and then having metron heal him back up. Nothing more discouraging to an opponent than seeing the damage they worked so hard at, get healed right back up .

Ganthet's dial looks pretty good, solid and still a nasty little bugger but it's nice that this is sort of the "bargain" version of the munchkin, if you don't have room to squeeze his more expensive incarnations onto your team. Not such a fan of the sculpt - obviously it's fine, no problems with the level of detail or anything, I just don't really like the direction they took for the movie version (which can be said of several of the GL aliens, so far). I'm thinking I'll use his dial to represent Sayd, though, since I've thought she'd be fun to have clix'd ever since her increased prominence in the GL mythos. Wouldn't make a bad generic Guardian dial, either.
For Boodika, I like that the sculpt is close enough that all she'll need is maybe a fresh coat of paint. The dial is "interesting." She's really not that bad for the points, but the seemingly erratic dial design doesn't give you many options for using her well. Phasing coupled with Blades means she'll be able to get in close from hiding (hopefully on a tokened opponent) and subsequently make a nasty attack, then when she gets hit hopefully they knock her down to Psy-blast, and phasing means she can easily jump back and start shooting. :d-indomitable: goes a long way in making this strategy playable, and in a lot of ways I think Phasing+:d-indomitable: is more conducive to this playstyle than a move+attack ability would be because she doesn't need to worry about wasting actions trying to break away. That said, mediocre up-front defense hurts a lot and if your opponent knows her dial he'll know to look out for that kind of thing. I'll definitely give her a try, and I like that they're not all run'n'gunners in this set, but I'm a little underwhelmed.

Decisions, decisions... I really need to see the fast forces dials before I buy a single one of any of these. I like almost all of these dials except, oddly enough, the versions of Hal.
But the sculpts for Ganthet and Kilowog are going to have to go.
I'm certainly excited about the Green Lantern set, and hope I'll be able to find them for the sake of collecting them… :rolleyes:
…buuuut, I do think its a bit much that we have now gotten 3 versions of Gathet and still no generic Gaurdian, Sayd, or Old Timer. Not only that... now we have two guardian Ganthets and a Lantern Ganthet, but still no Guardian of the Blue Ganthet.
Speaking of which… how crazy lame was it of Ganthet to just abandon the corps he founded to demote himself to the status of Green Lantern?

I think that it's to make her looking more like a girl... in that case she must apply for the Violet Lanterns instead..... anyway, it looks weird though...(:bolt:)

ganthet rocks, boodikka is inaccurate as all get out. she's pretty much a space amazon/pirate. why does she have not even ONE click of move and attack. this makes me sad because i doubt she'll ever get made again. oh well. maybe i'll put her dial on a donna troy base.

What more could you want out of ganthet.......other than maybe a base 5 damage on the first click. Outwit plus quintessence is always nasty. Probably the best part is that 200 points still gives you plenty of room to make different styles of teams.

You mean because Wizkids doesn't have enough gravitas to enforce a street date with a large retailer? Every Target in SE PA had them as of today. Seems less 'lucky' and more 'they've been released'. :p:classic:
