I remember way back in the day when the Mafia forum was flourishing. There was a huge assortment of players, and so many people helped form this gaming community into a phenomenal experience.
But then I left for a while (almost 3 years, wow).
When I returned, I noticed so many of the old players gone. Some new faces taking the lead helped fill in a few those vacant seats. The old community still shining but seemingly not as bright. Gone are the days were games would have 35 to 40 players in them with everyone being active. Now we have games that consist of 20-25, though it tends to be difficult to get gaming numbers up that high.
I'm not so naive to ask what happened to the players. I know all too well how life can be. We grow, we change, we evolve. Each step we take is something new in life, and the old footprints are left to be covered in dust, sometimes leaving behind an echo of where we once were.
What I am wondering, and hoping that we can all accomplish together, is how can we bring forth more players to continue growing our community here? We've had a few new players join up recently, and a few returning favorites. But does anyone have any idea how we can grow even further?
