“The Shell Game”

Green Lantern transferred all of the contact information over to a very busy Mr. Terrific. He then signed off and left his protective position near the Hawkwing. He left behind a fiery green streak as he made a beeline to the airfield. Upon arriving, he saw a flurry of activity like an anthill that had been kicked. Planes were being hurriedly readied and taxied to the airfield. Some were even taking on important passengers while a queue formed on the tarmac. Lucky for them none had gotten airborne just yet but the first one was approaching the runway.

Small two seat fighters were flung almost straight into the air by tension catapults. They rapidly came together and charged at Green Lantern guns spitting large calibre rounds.

“Um, Hawkman?" he called to his teammates. "I am going to need a bit of backup here. Some of these fighters are boasting some advanced tech. I will need some help if we are going to stop the transports.”

“Ok," Hawkman confirmed. "Mr. Terrific, did you hear that?”

“Affirmative.”

“Then tell Stripe and The Star-Spangled Kid to go help him with those fighters. I will get there when I can.”

A raspy voice issued from the gasmask obscuring Sandman’s face, “Are you sure it is wise to let her join in?”

“She's proven herself in fights much worse than this," Hawkman explained sharply. "And with me and Green Lantern there she'll have more than enough support if she gets into a tight spot. Why? Have you had a dream or premonition about this?”

“No, just normal concern about getting a teenager involved in this.”

Hawkman visibly relaxed, he took Sandman’s premonitions seriously, even if there was an inevitability about them. “That much we can debate later. Sandman and Jessie, you continue to Wildcat. Start your infiltration but keep in contact. We will join you as soon as we can.”

Hawkman spread his wings and leapt into the air. He sped to the airfield where green flames could be seen flashing. When he arrived Alan had downed several of the fighters but several transports had made it into the air. Courtney and Stripe had just joined Green Lantern a moment before. “Watch yourselves these things are tougher than they look,” warned Allan.

The fighters formed a protective screen of the transports and then came after the heroes. The fight was on!

Scenario Rules:

-> Special Feat: He’s My Ride – Stripe must carry the R Star-Spangled Kid everywhere. They must always be adjacent to each other. If they become separated, Stripe must make a move action on his next turn to move next to R Star-Spangled Kid. If he is pushed and unable to move next to her, then she is koed. If Stripe is Koed, then the Star-Spangled Kid is also Koed.

-> On turn 1 the player controlling the villains will pm me 2 transports that will be carrying scientists. The goal of the villain is to get the scientists into the starting area of the JSA. The JSA receives a bonus of 1 TXP for each ship of scientists that he koes. He receives 2 TAP points for each ship that fails to reach the starting area by turn 16 but has not been koed.

-> The game will use 3 actions per turn for both sides, but the villains will get two bonus move actions that may only be given to the transport ships.

Seems weird to think of Grudy flying on his own, but yes from the writing they are planes. So they can fly, and thus cannot be carried either!

"Micheal, any indication which transports have the scientists in them?" Hawkman said into his earpiece.

"Negative, Carter." replied Mr. Terrific. "There is some kind of weird...interference that is blocking my scanners."

"I'm bettings it's those weird mettalic clouds." Green Lantern stated. "My ring also can't verify which of these transports has them."

"Then we will just have to all of them out of the sky!" said Hawkman grimly, steading himself for the battle ahead.

"Go for the transports when possible." said Hawkman. "Courtney, try to distract their escorts.

1) Free Hawkman will Roll his Chairman of the JSA (Leadership) Roll is a 2 as the JSA know what to do now without additional instruction.

2) Green Lantern will will himself to fly, then hover at I-16.

3) Carter will take flight, and end next to Carter at J-16.

Intergang Turn 2:

1 question: Are the buildings for this game basically useless since we are all flying all the time. Or are we still using basic heroclix flying rules.


story:
Red 1 to Red 4 get into those clouds and set up a perimeter. Red 4 fly into the clouds and waited. Finally the last two transport moved up behind their fighters

The buildings are still elevated terrain, and as such block line LOS to figures in ground level squares. I liked your explanation of clouds that block LOS. :)

Don't forget, when you move your fighers, if they aren't going to attack, use ICWO to bump up their DV by one.

I have never used that before. I thought you had to use a power action to use it?

Are you saying only when you use a power you have to pay for ICWO, So I can always pic two fighters and add +1 to their combat values every turn for free?

As long as it is not the target of Mind Control, when an Agent is given an action you may choose to give one of its combat values +1 until the beginning of your next turn.

"Kid!" Stripe yelled.

"I'm okay." The Star-Spangled Kid said as the Cosmic Converter absorbed the kinetic energy of the bullets-but not not all of it athey still hit like a bunch of little punches they almost knocked her off the big robot. But her smile told Pat she was still in this fight.

Intergang Turn 5


Story:
Red 1 saw Red 3's plane explode in a fireball and slam into the ground. Red 1 knew that engaging the enemy would cost the lives of some brave integang pilots, but he knew the transports must get through. This task outweighed the cost of those lives and he knew his commanders would think that way too.

He flew off to protect the Transports and fired one of the new Ingang tech missles which exploded above Green Lantern. The explosed cause gravity to change and the air around him became so heavy that even he cannot fight it and he is pushed to the ground from the massive weight, only his force field protects him from being injured.

Really, I thought you only needed to use an action when you use oracle powers. Wow, you haven't missed this entire game. You have failed leadership alot though.


Intergang Turn 6:

Blue 3 and Blue 4 both moved forward trying to escape the JSA brutal attack on them. Blue 3 was able to reach a portal location as they closed on it a sensor on the Transport opened a Portal and they flew into it teleporting away in a flash, with the portal closing behind them, blue 4 was not far behind, but still no jump portal opened.

Red 1 saw that all of the other fighters were destroyed, he also saw one of his transports make it to safety. He hoped the scientists were on it, even the fighter pilots weren't told for fear that they might have their minds read and devulge information.
Now he had to act to help the other transports, he knew what he must do. He had to engage the remaining JSA members and keep them locked in place, so the transports could escape. He would keep his hand ready on the ejection seat, sensing that his ship would not survive.

"One of the transports just teleported!" The Star-Spangled Kid reported as she was facing where they had came from.

"Don't sweat it, Kid." Stripe intoned. "Sensors indicated that there were no eggheads on board that one."

"So let's concentrate on the ones that are still here!" Hawkman growled.

Intergang Turn 7:

Story:
As Red 1 saw stripe pulling his plane apart, he ejected. As he floated down in his parachute, he saw the JSA members fly after the other transports.
He saw two transports make it to safety and in blinding flashes teleport away, but the last was blocked by a green wall. He knew his sacrifice helped the other 2 transports escape, he only hoped the
Scientists were on those that escaped thus far.

JSA Turn 7

"Wha...?" Carter said as the transport in front of him suddenly became three! He hit one, but it was just a holographic projection. By the time his keen senses could home in on the real transport, it was already through the portal. "Alan, these transports appear to have..."

"One heck of a defense mechinism?" GL finished as his transports shot out a beam that went through the cage that he had willed into being, and pulled up a tree! the wood easily counteracted the Starheart's power, and the transport was free to get to the portal. But Alan made sure the second one couldn't try that trick by disabling the ray And blocking it's progress.

Yea I know! I saw when you kept the JSA together as most would because of the team ability, I would have to split up. Both my attack and defense Values just stunk, so I figured delaying action was the best strategy for the transports to make it through.

Story;

As Red 1 continues to flutter down in his parachute. He sees the last transport escape. He know's he did his job, and his leaders would be proud of him. A promotion perhaps, but he shook his head. First, I have to not get captured...

Epilogue:

Green Lantern watched where the transports disappeared from. He marked where they were as best he could and moved to the area.

"Mr. Terrific," he said, linking with their comms through his power.

"Yes, Green Lantern."

"Mark my location. This is the point they disappeared. When we have time we can come back and examine it. Maybe we can track where they went."

"Green Lantern, Star Spangled Kid, you remain here and stop any stragglers that try to get away. I am going to help the other team with the infiltration."

Seeing that they understood his commands he went into a steep dive gaining incredible speed. He then raced to the hanger seeking an entrance to the base below.
