Does that mean, that EVERY comic book store in the U.S.A, will be giving away free hulks and comics? ? ?

No. It simply means they have been given the OPPORTUNITY to have free clix and comics for the first Saturday of May. The stores are required to order the free comics from Diamond Comic Distributers. I forget, but I believe that the comics may not be entirely free for the retailers. I'm pretty sure there is a small charge to cover basic costs such as shipping, especially considering how much extra shipping will be required for the extra books. That week each store will likely get DOUBLE the comics they normally recieve.

I've heard about the free comic, but what about free clix.....

What's up with that?

They're giving away free Hulk clix (I'm pretty sure just the rookie version), to hype the movie. I already got one just by going to a tournament last Friday.

And the free comics you can get are just printed versions of readily available keenspot webcomics.

On Saturday, 03 May (the day after X2 debuts), comic stores are given the opportunity to participate in this special promotion. They can order specially produced comics at an extremely low cost, and are expected to hand them out for free to visitors.

Comics available include X-Men (of course), Batman, Transformers, Robocop/Stargate SG-1, Archie, Donald Duck, Way of the Rat and many more. They're designed to hook people with familiar properties -- last year's batch included Spider-Man (of course), Justice League, Star Wars, Tomb Raider and a few others.

I volunteered to help out in my local shop on FCBD last year, and the place was absolutely packed. They went all out, giving away not only free comics but popcorn early on, pizza at lunchtime, and soda all day. Once the rush wore off, they went on to hold a demo which gave my first exposure to HeroClix.

For full details on Free Comic Day, you can visit their web site at freecomicbookday.com (http://www.freecomicbookday.com).

As for the "Bag o' Hulks," I'd never heard anything specifically tying that to FCBD. If they'd intended to link the two, you'd think they'd do it closer to the actual date. They would, however, make a sweet giveaway that day as well.

My local venue recieved two large bags o Hulk. The first one they will start giving away with the release of X-Plosion. The second one they are saving for FCBD. I believe most stores only got one bag, but this store sells HUGE amounts of Heroclix so they got two bags.

My local store has their Bag o' Hulks and they are the rookie version with the usual promo card with prices on them.

It's just too bad people have already been paying $10 each for these from someone on eBay.

Seriously... the depths some people will go to make money.
