Greetings HeroClix Fans! Happy Release Day!
Green Lanterns are flying into stores (and off of shelves) in stores everywhere today as both the Gravity Feed and Fast Forces packs go on sale! We follow up Monday’s preview with the rest of the Fast Forces pack starting with Sinestro!

The only thing I would say is that it would have been preferable to have Ganthet in the Fast Forces pack and Guardian of the Universe in the gravity feeds since GotU is a generic.

Sinestro is solid as hell, the Guardian is ok, but, mark my words, ABIN SUR IS INSANELY BROKEN!!!
Not only he is the cheapest GL TA piece ever printed, he also can break one of the basic rules in Heroclix about carrying, being capable to carry giants, duos and flyers if single based. Pair him up with a couple of Hal Jordans to boost his speed value (up to 14, i know) and you can suddenly transport your whole team halfway trough the map in one freakin move!

Abin Sur can only carry any figure if he's carrying only one. So he can carry A flier or A giant or A duo, but not a crowd of them.
He does have the Soldier keyword though. He could make an interesting troop transport.

Police actually. Unless there is some errata already.
Went to my local Target to get the gravity feed figures. They did not have them. Very disappointing. Less so then when I went to Toys'R Us on Monday though, long drive, for them to not have the X-Men Colossals and to have no idea what I was talking about. Just hope my game store got its shipment in today for the FF.
As for these 3 figures. Excellent. Definately saves the FF, beyond just the map. Seconded though, shame the FF has the generic Guardian. But guess it worked better for the points that way, over the 50 pt extra Ganthet. Would not mind trying to locate a 2nd generic as a single, but bet that will be a bit difficult, at least for a while.

Those were my same exact thoughts. Abin Sur is my new best friend.
The only thing I would say is that it would have been preferable to have Ganthet in the Fast Forces pack and Guardian of the Universe in the gravity feeds since GotU is a generic. You're much kinder about this than I'm inclined to be. I'd like to know who approved this move -- a move that's either dimwitted or somewhat predatory. That such things were done with the Antimonitor pack and the Fantastic Four starter is irrelevant, and is in no fashion an excuse.

Someone posted pictures of the map.
Ferris Airlines is on one side. There is indoor and outdoor terrain.
The other side is Oa. There is a big picture of the central power battery (Blocking Terrain). There is lots of open space with elevated terrain in a few locations. I wasn't really jumping out of my seat for either side but you don't know until you play them
I don't know about anybody else, but since I've had NO opportunity to acquire that GF sinestro, I am lovin' the FF version!

Checked 3 stores today and not anywhere to be found, so unlike the rest of the country that broke street dates, it looks like we'll get them post street date... maybe. :confused:
And just like that Abin Sur became my new best friend. :grin:

I don't know, that Sinestro looks mighty unbalanced to me. He is going to flat-out GUT people and be very hard to retaliate against. And at his points, adding some outwit, perplex, and prob is not difficult at all.

Oh wow...a Generic Guardian. I wasn't expecting that in the fast forces pack. Gah?!?! Why'd they put Ganthet in the Gravity feed boosters instead of that. I want a team composed entirely of Guardians!
I'm not too sure about all the fast forces dials. Sinestros seem a bit depowered. Abin is just amazing. I wish they gave the guardian Quintessense though, I mean look at Queen Ag'apo, she's only 166 but she has it, not getting why they didn't do that for the generic smurf.

None of the stores I checked today got any in, they all said maybe Friday. And no GL gravity feed in my area yet either. And my TRU isn't getting any GSX. :(
I'm starting to feel shut out on all the new releases. Maybe I'm being punished for my ridiculously good pulls in GSX. Maybe my city got demographically blacklisted for not having enough players who buy stuff? Or maybe it's just a voodoo curse.... I hope this turns around before the Captain America set comes out.

I feel a little better. I just read the thread from Ziran that says the Target and Toys R Us exclusives will be re-released in brick and mortar stores later this year. Whew! Now I just need to get a Fast Forces pack...

Only on two clicks. It is quite possible to carry Groot straight into the heart of an enemy formation now, let Abin drop him off, and push into the nasty, Colossal Clicks in a few rounds.

they may have reused the pictures of the gravity feed figures. Which is not surprising.

Has anyone even looked at the Guardian!? For the price, he is spectacular in imo. 10 range (rare on a figure these days), PB, 11 attack, 18 def with imperv. Maybe no power cosmic but with indomitable you can easily fortitude him if you really think its worth it on a 150 point fig. (The permanent willpower is my most valued part of power cosmic to me anyway.)
Even hit hard, his attack and damage are consistent with great support powers. I'll get this pack for the guardian alone.

At only 50 points, this Abin Sur is one of the best figs around for carrying other figures! The Green Lantern team ability allows Abin Sur to carry up to 8 adjacent freindly figures, OR he can carry one figure with a standard base via his Always Uses a Ship special power regardless of the carried figure’s combat symbols!

Duos on single bases (Cloak and Dagger, Hawk and Dove, Power Man and Iron Fist, etc.) can be carried. However, given the lack of single-based duos as of recent, I don't see too many single duos being made from this point forward.

Guardian of the Universe is not a generic as there are only a small number of Oans who have that title
Stop me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that despite what the article says, there's no way for Sinestro to achieve 12 attack just from his special damage power.
No duo's can be carried. Least that's what it sounds like to me. Single base duos, giants can be carried with the SP and if they ever make figures with the :g-colossal: on a single base .they could be carried as well.
Guardian of the Universe is not a generic as there are only a small number of Oans who have that titleGuardian of the Universe is not a named character but represents any of the unnamed guardians, hence it is generic. Ganthet is a specific guardian, Scar is a specific guardian, Guardian of the Universe is not a specific guardian.

I got my gravity feed yesterday. I ended up getting 2 complete sets and 4 left over (all different).

Right, but hasn't there been a ruling recently about the difference between being moved and being "placed" by a game effect? The wording of the carry ability never says anything about the character being carried being moved, only placed. Wouldn't that allow Groot to get around the non-move restriction?
