There is a small, local convention that has invited me to run a Clix table in the gaming room. They have never had Clix before and the Con primarily focuses on Writers and Roleplay. I will have an 8' table and I'm not sure what the space will look like.

So, my ideas: I have NO IDEA how many people will turn out to actually play Clix so I want a format that will work for a small crowd or a large one.

My idea was to build a comic accurate team of highly recognizable characters (X-Men or JLA probably) and play against any interested contestants. I will record the scores of all games from Friday and Saturday and have the top 4 play each other on Sunday in normal tournament play. This structure would allow for as many "qualifiers" as we need on Fri/Sat.

Each game would be 45 minutes and I would record KO points as well as survivor points (for tie breakers).

Questions:
1. Do you charge an entrance fee? If so, how much is fair and resonable?
2. How do you notify the top four?
3. What point value is best for this type of play (400)?
4. Is there any other advice you can give me?

I did similar thing last year at comicpalooza. I mostly ran demo games because there wasn't a lot of people there that knew how to play. This year I have been looking for some kind of bump from hcrealms or wizkids/neca heck even #############. But no response. I have about $1000 bucks tied up in prizes and don't want them to go to waist so I have hit up all local venues telling them about the tournament. It's tuff to start up at a con so good luck sir.
