View Full Version : My First Mod
This is the first mod I've tried.
I sure learned a lot while doing this one and have ideas for several more.
I'm tired of waiting on an Archangel, so I made my own.
I'm going to use the base from my Deathbird.
I think it's the perfect dial for AA.
I have a little more work to do on it, and have some ideas to make it better, but I though I'd let you guys have a look.
I'm going to do a shading wash on it to bring out the detail.
And please...rate it on a scale of 1 to 10.
Remember...this is my first attempt at it.

I'm eagerly awaiting a Archangel fig to, and if they used your sculped it would be awsome. I like the use of the cotton ball. The only thing i would change is his costume. I like the purple, magenta costume a whole lot more.
Rating: 8
Real Good for your first mod.

for your first time its great, and even then, its still great
what figs did you use, i know winhs are annihilus, the body to familiar, but its too late and a i can put a name to the body or the head, who did you use?
Thanks for the comments so far.
I used...
Annihilus' wings. (Heat and bend)
Human Torch body. (Took forever to trim the fire off)
Robin's head. (Lightly shaved off his mask)
And a few Q-Tips.
And I'll finish him off with Deathbird's base.
It looks good and must admit the Angel mod that I made also used a shave down human torch and I think its an almost perfect pose for angel. I used a different approach on the wings because I wanted the feather look. I used a mage knight Wereraven wings and it fits him perfectly. I am just throwing this out in case you may want to look for another option latter. I must admit your choice in Robins head fits him well. Congrats on such a great first mod.
Thanks Rowwlok.
The first time I saw the Torch sculpt, I too thought it was the perfect angel pose.
If I could have managed to get the Vulture wings to look better, I would have used those. That's the type wing pose I was wanting.
I couldn't scarpe the Vulture out of his wings well enough to make them look good.
Oh well. Not bad for a first mod.
I'll post another one when I get it finished.
I'm working on ideas for Havok, Spawn, Hellboy and a few others.
The next ones will lean more toward the custom built rather than the cut and paint I used on this one.
(Pretty bad that I had to edit the word S C R A P E so you can read it. Oh carp!)
The cooton balls were a good idea...except for when he's hovering, unless it's always foggy!
For that, (and only that) you get a 7
Otherwise, an 8-9
I'm a realist, what can I say.

That is one of the best Angels I've seen.

First things first, great job.
second i just want to say that if you go to the Customs Page on heroix.info there is a similar AA except in the blue costume and with hawkman's wings. The wings on yours were a little iffy (if you were aiming for the metallic winged angel you should have done the costume with a skull cap), but other than that I give you a 7 overall.

I've seen another with home made wings that were more like the comic books.
But I have to say that is an 8 for sure. Lots of good work in it - lets see some more fine stuff.:classic:
