View Full Version : An Open Letter to Jon L about X-Plosion

I...I really just don't know where to start. I've lost so much faith in this game I just don't know if I can go on any more. I mean Jesus H. Tapdancing Christ, Jon! My wife took one look at Iceman's stats and threatened to leave me!!! How can you do this to us, the loyal Hero-Clix fans!? We stood in the rain and cold for four hours just to buy a booster pack of thugs and agents. Now my children look at me after seeing the sculpt for Psylocke and they put paper bags over their heads! They tell all their friends at school that their "real" dad was killed in the Gulf War when an oil drum of Vaseline fell on him. I have to go before my congregation this Sunday, look my fellow parishoners in the eye, and tell them that the Experienced Iron Man has a 9 attack value for 168 Points and expect them to still believe in God!!!!! What the hell were you thinking?!?!? I'm staring at that bottle of Old Crow Whiskey and a bottle of pills, wondering how I can keep going on in life knowing that Spider-Man STILL doesn't have Outwit, Running Shot, Perplex, Impervious, Poison, Shapechange, RCE, CCE, Mind Control, 4 Arrows, a 20 inch Range and Leadership all for under 50 points. Why didn't you hire Thanosied to help you design the figures like we all begged you to? My entire existance is one grey slate of nothingness. Thank you, Jon L. You've killed Hero-Clix.

PS: This is all blatant sarcasm. Jon L, if you actually read this, tell all the naysayers to go play Yu-Gi-Oh, you're doing a great job. :)

Aside from the obvious digs at Thanoseid (which were uncalled for), I agree.

Thank you Jon for the work you do on a game we all love. Thanks one more time, for making strong representations of many female characters as well. My femme fatale teams are getting better every expansion (mmmmm, Shadowcat).

How come nobody writes an open letter to Janice the Wiz Kids mail room manager?
I bet she does a fine job too, but you are all just focused on the glory hounds like Jon and overlook the little people he stepped on to get to the top.
Shame on all of you, and mad props to Janice.

In the interest of fair play, I took out the worst of what I had to say about Egosied. Most of which I have already said again and again in other posts :)

We figure the less said about her the less chance she has of going postal and switching V Firelord stat stickers with R Thug bases and figures. Mutants and Sentinels...living together...MASS HYSTERIA!

We just all let hm dig his own grave.

This entire first post, Machevellian in scope, was in response to the legions of people who have collectively lost their minds as like no other expansion released before. To see people threaten to sue Wizkids over Iceman's stats is Must See TV.

Thpppppp! to you too :) Look, we should all feel sorry for these people who are about to renounce their faith because of cheap perplex. We should erect...huh huh huh, I said 'erect'...support centers and tax shelters for these poor individuals who will rail against the game from the highest steeple, but will make sure they have at least two of every X-Plosion figure in their collection. Then, when Iceman wins them the LE at the tournament, they will shout about how much of a disgrace that figure is that helped them win.

I think Xplosion rocks. Looking through the Warriors section has really made me super anxious for next week when I get my half-case.

I just kinda wish they hadn't done that "pre-release" thingy at that convention. It's neat to know what's coming but I'd truthfully rather be surprised when I open up my boosters and click through the dials. I just don't have enough self control not to click through the entire Xplosion Warriors section though :D

Shin-goji VS. The Stupid Populous of earth.

Nice thread! Great way to subtlely take jabs at every ignorant ranter who complains about this game because their favorite figure is just not powerful enough! If these people are so upset and feel that they could make HC a better game then why are they not the game designers? Well, that is because they are ignorant and have no sense of reality!

I mean Thanosied and his cohorts have named their gaming group "The Den". Then he comes on here and makes an absolutely assinine post about how Iceman is completely usless. Well, if he is such a masterful strategist and player then he could surely come up with a way to use Bobby Drake.

Congratulations Shin-goji on another politically incorrect thread. I appluad your tenacity and fervor in this endevour!

shin-goji
03/18/2003, 17:17
I'd attribute it more to my rdeness, stubbornness and obsessiveness, but I'll take any compliment where I can get it :) Seriously, I've let the whole Thanosied thing go, we're never ever gonna get the forum game going, and I have smaller fish to fry :)

Did it occur to you there might be a reason why more people than ever have "lost their minds (like) no other expansion (before)" I for one was extremely pleased when I first saw the stats for hypertime and clobberin' time. My reaction to this set has been the opposite.

I can respect that you think this set is going to be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but, it doesn't mean that people who disagree with are inherently wrong. Most of the non cheese-weasels in our local clix community are concerned about potential abuses in this set. The multitude of extremely (if not overly) efficient support characters and relatively few power houses that can compete with those in previous sets has many of us concerned.

I work very hard to maintain the 8-12 people who usually show up every week at tournaments I run. I do my best to limit cheese and monotony with various scenarios each week. WizKids has stated that they want "larger tournaments" and I think I am delivering for them. A big reason I think we are able to maintain this at the venue I judge at is because of the variety and lack of cheese. It's a little deflating to see WK's new set threaten to destroy what balance the game currently maintains (which could be a lot better.)

Since my initial reaction to this set I have decided to a "wait and see" approach to this set before passing final judgment. I do not hold out a tremendous amount of hope, but, we shall see.

Please feel free to anoint this set as the 2nd coming. However, you may want to be careful about discounting others opinions because they differ from your own.

If by (read: ego) you are referencing Freud's theory of psychoanalysis, you actually complemented me. So...thanks dude.

I am Thanosied, hate me or love me, you all can't seem to stop talking about me. Yes, part of my greatness does involve provoking conversation among my fans. It is a responsibility which I accept, and none of you mere mortals can hope to fathom. Muahahahahahaha!

I should have realised when I saw Shin-Goji had started the thread that it would eventually be about me. He has an obsession, and although I can't fault his taste, its getting to be a little embarrassing. Dude, I'm not interested.
I'm sorry to say, but now that I've reached cult icon status, you'll never get rid of me. This was all the encouragement I've ever needed. I've changed my demeanor in the past week, and I'm even more popular than I was before.....I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille.

I am not going to put any effort into this simple reply because this whole thread is worse then the one about how many tournaments Thanosied was going to win. How about you grow up a bit there shin-goji. I am sure the forum should be used for something more then this garbage. Or are we all a little upset that Thanosied is still around, and your attempts to get rid of him have failed? The plot has thickened.....

My oh my you are seriously full of yourself aren't you?

By ego I meant the large balloon-like substance floating above your shoulders where your head should be residing.

It must be hard shopping for head gear to keep your noggin warm and protected. I doubt they make anything in planet size.

But to keep on subject: The nay-sayers of the new clix (of which Thanoseid is the most vocal) have not even tried to use them yet because they have not been released. Try to use them in play before making a big deal out of it. Such great tacticians aught to be able to incorporate the new set into both your teams, and your tactics. Is the Firelord/Bullseye team that you have offered up before the only team that you will ever field? If so then stop playing Hero-clix at the Clobberin' Time level. Every time a new set is released the players will have to play test the new figures themselves to dissect the playability of each figure. Some figures may not have a use alone and only with a combo will they be useful (sometimes the combo may not be apparent until later sets).

The charm of Hero-Clix as an expansion game is that the characters will have to rise to the level of a new challenge...just like in the funny pages.

So are you able to keep up with Hero-Clix or will you be left behind in the Golden Age?

On another note: I FREAKIN' HATE POP-UP ADS!!!

Points to Thanosied and Hemlock. I forgive you, honestly I do. And the fourm IS a place for humorous posts such as this. Moderators and Judges have contributed to it. This post was only partially dedicated to Thanosied, it was mostly dedicated to those voiding all over their Star Wars pajamas over figures they are POSITIVE will ruin the game. I think not. Change is inevitable. And at no time have I said this is the second coming. I have said I'm excited about it.

This is my last post for this thread, because too much time and energy has been put into it. Shin-goji, from what I can remember we have not had any post wars like what I have seen you been doing with Thanosied, so I do not know why you would want to forgive me? Unless of course you are trying to be funny or humorous again. Secondly I really haven't said anything negative about the set other then the con artist, Iceman and Storm (but I am just happy she is finally a clix). Hell she could have be a thug with flying and I would have still used her. Personally I am very happy with another set coming out because I am getting tired of the same teams over and over again. Like you said, change is inevitable.

All my posts that are related to this topic of whining, is to ignore it and move on, like the picture of Wonder Woman. One of the only few DC characters I like other then the Flash and Batman villians and Livewire (yeah she is lame). Once and for all I am not Thanosied, but wait since I said this I MUST be...... *sigh*

Finally, you all figured me out. Bigpoppavej, Hemlock and Tylk, all live in Ottawa and are therefore all me... Moreover, Shin-Goji, Mark Finn and darius_dax1 are also me. I'm cleverly writing against myself because I want the notoriety I so richly deserve. The only way I can gain this is by talking about myself ALL the time. Not only that, but as I have no equal in the realm of debate, the only way that I can enjoy myself is by arguing against....myself. From now on, you can never be sure who is posting. The next time Jon L. logs on, watch out because it may be...The Great Thanosied! Yes, my clever schemes know no bounds. Fear me and my plots for world domination. Let the paranoia begin!!!! Thanosied and hemlock ARE the same person. "They" have tried to say otherwise, but they post from the same PC. As was noted earlier, as soon as one nickname logs off, the other nickname immediately logs on. Anything out of either one's mouth should be considered to be coming from Thanosied's mouth.

Try and tell me they AREN'T different people...

Even though I am the one who started this, in this thread. I have seen them both be logged on at the same time. Just to let ya know. They are probable really really good Friends ;) if get my drift, kidding. Thanosied is trying to lighten up let give him the benifit of the doubt for a time and see if he can actually be a productive memeber of HCRealms. Everyone just needs to take a deep breath and relax.

Oh and Thanosied no more my undefeated record thingy. I cant remember the exact heading. :D ;) :p

I was backing thanoseid in the fact that we shouldn't single out anyone for a verbal beatdown. We only stoop to their level. But then Thanoseid had to do the whole I am god blasphemy. May you all think about how lonely you'd be without eachother to rip on. Go ahead call me whatever you may. I'm going to bed.

P.S. I am not in anyway asociated with any of you. I am not Thanosied or Goji. Goodnight & Joe bless you

Thanosied,

I shall flay the skin from your fleash,

The flesh from your bone,

and s####e your bones dry,

but still you will not have suffered enough!

Do not refer to me as your minion. It implies that I am somehow beneath you. This is not the case. You could only wish to aspire to the hieghts of human intellect and success that I have achieved. Quite trying to sound so profound and justified with your feeble rhetoric. Furthermore, only a moderator can view the IP packet information from each user who is currently logged into this site. I could use a packet snifer on this site, but that would require illegal use of my computer. Something I am not willing to do when no monetary compensation is involved. If you gave me your IP address that is leased to you through a DHCP server at your ISP I would be more than happy to pop into your home PC and say hello! Would you like that? You have an uncanny knack for turing an insult targeted at you into a compliment. I realize that you want a reaction out of people because it somehow validates your life. I am more than happy to oblige you by pointing out how much of a pompous scoundrel you are. You remind of our previous president, Bill Clinton. He was a lying, ignorant, and self-deluded creature like yourself. I hope you enjoy the jollies you receive by acting ignorant of the fact that you have, are, and always will be a "TOOL"!

P.S. Thanosied, if you can get the quote I put at the top you might gain a little respect from me. Hint: Tempest Block! Also, it was just a quote and nothing more. I do not really wish to flay you. Although, that the act of flaying should be a form of capital punishment. That would be an excellent deterant!

You know Dolemite199, where I live, we get fifty bucks for committing a person just...like...YOU. I could use fifty bucks, wanna come visit?
And on that note, I'm doing my best not to flame people. However, I chose to make an exception this time even though I wasn't offered any "monetary compensation". Think of it as a gift for my humble servants. You're welcome.

Is that simllar to Thanosied=from Canada humble?

OH my GOD. I think I just figured out something. LOL. When people get a website busy error and you try to repost it. It sends out an email, even though its not suppose to. And you dont post anything.

Editing doesnt send out emails ya boo.

Well at least I figured out why sometimes I get a lot of emails.

whatever it was it happened over 20 times & it was annoying. I just chalked it up to editing posts because I thought since it changed the thread I'd get a notice. Again whatever it was it was annoying. I thank you Machine for your helpful critique.

Finally, you all figured me out. Bigpoppavej, Hemlock and Tylk, all live in Ottawa and are therefore all me... Moreover, Shin-Goji, Mark Finn and darius_dax1 are also me.

Sounds like a serious case of MPD to me.

You know Dolemite199, where I live, we get fifty bucks for committing a person just...like...YOU. I could use fifty bucks, wanna come visit?

Perhaps you could just commit yourself and get the $50.00. Or if you were as smart as you think you are you could commit each of your personalities and really rake in the cash!!!

Besides, I only said you and hemlock were the same people. You and hem virtually admitted it in a previous post.

Let's see. I CAN read, that much is true. Intelligence? I might have it but i never use it. It's usually consumed by white hot rage and ATD of the fingers. And I would like to kick his tail in an online game, but like Brazil he backed out. My record for online games ain't so purty. I'm 1 and 2 with Brazil being my only win.

Iceman is just the tip of the iceberg! What about Iron Man, Mystic, Storm, Beast, Spidey & Elektra just to name a few? If you eliminate mind control, 8 clix of super senses & perplex, you have a pretty good & more appropriate Elektra. Not to mention, what do the X-Men have to do to get a character with outwit? Prof.X:NOPE! Nightcrawler:NOPE! Beast:NOPE! They should have created an ability called Intangible. Works like perplex but more believable.:ermm:
