Tobey or Not Tobey???

I caught a glimpse of an article posted on the Netscape home page claiming that Tobey McGuire may no longer play Spider-man.
This was only a headline, as I didn't have time to read the entire article. has anyone heard anything?

He's having some back problems and doesn't know if he is going to be ready to start shooting in April.

I don't know about you guys, but for an $11+ million paycheck, they could put me in traction for a year afterward.

I heard something about back problem may keep him out, not that he doesn't want to do it, or that someone doesn't want him to do it. I just barely caught the end of it on TV and didn't get the whole story.

Maguire was never going to "walk away from the role", he did however (or so I've been told) do a lot of the stunt work in the Spider-Man costume, they weren't sure if he would be able to do as much as he did in the first movie because his back was hurting. They WILL NOT re-cast Maguire.
