So is she in the jet? What the heck is with the flight base?

Did I miss something here - I thought her flying was a JL [cartoon] invention...

It's been a long time since I've read comics but as I recall, the Boots of Hermes allowed her to fly.

Wonder Woman's been flying pretty much ever since Crisis, sometimes with a gadget, sometimes not.

Marvel, what Marvel? Suddenly my Xplosion fever has died and given way to Cosmic Justice fever.

I think I might just buy a DC comic this sculpt is so good.

I was just really happy to see Wonder Woman in this set, period. That was my biggest disapointment with Hypertime, the only recognizable female characters were the villains.

Don't get me wrong, I dig Huntress. And I really like Dove. But I was annoyed that there was no Batgirl, Supergirl or Wonder Woman in Hypertime. I know WizKids has to keep high-recognition characters spread out, but any one of the three "headlining" female characters would have gone a long way to making my wife happier with me buying that set.

And I know that JonL has promised (and has done a good job with) that future sets will be closer to a 40/60 female/male ration, which, considering that there are far more superheroes than superheroines, is impressive. I'm just glad that there'll be a Wonder Woman this time around.

As I recall from reading JLA comics many many years ago, Wonder Woman can't fly. But, she can glide on the wind. She used her super strength to leap into the air and then glided down to her destination. She could go quite far this way. Kind of like the Hulk but with more style.

Maybe it is the distance of the picture but the sculpt is phenomenal. Looks really good and captures one of the classic poses of this character. Never really been a big fan of WW but I can see that changing. I am really excited for more DC figs.

About the only times that she *hasn't* been able to fly to one degree or another have been her TV incarnations... and her 1940s-50s incarnation, but I'm guessing you're not as familiar with that version.

According to Michael Fleisher's Wonder Woman volume of his aborted Encyclopedia of Comic Book Heroes, WW first "simulates the power of flight by riding the air currents like a human glider" in WW (1st series) #108, dated August 1959.

Ever since then, she was able to fly by gliding on air currents. This version of Wonder Woman died in the Crisis. The Post-Crisis version has been able to fly since she was created, having been gifted with this power (among others) by the gods.

Guilty: My image of WW is from the old Superfriends Cartoon.

To be honest, the only DC title I follow now is Harley Quinn, and the ones I followed regularly in the 80's were The Demon (short lived), Detective, Batman, and Deathstroke: The Terminator.

She never made any appearances in those comics that I caught.
