Clever idea. If you don't want to go through all of the "Please play me" threads, you can easily skip them now. And likewise, if you have an online game up, you don't have to worry about it being pushed pages back after one afternoon. Bravo!

One question though. Draddog says that threads will be removed every few days. Is this only idle/finished threads or active ones too (that would suck, as sometimes you're busy and it takes awhile to finish)?

I have no problem with putting the "play by post" games in their own forum, in fact, I applaude it!
BUT, I wish there was a separate one for tourneys like Sunny D's, Fogs, and TippleJ's. These are surely an entirely different animal and shouldn't be subject to the same 2 day deletion policy as rules the Play by posts forum.
I do thank the celestials for trying new things in an effort to make things better for all of us who value this game and this site.

Most likely the threads past the first page would be pulled if they're beyond a certain age. Once a thread falls off and is no longer posted on then it'll appear dead and be removed as such.

I guess it doesn't matter that most of the people who donated to this site, fight turn by turn battles not online. It's just another way to treat the people who help by donation like trash. It's the new business definition of America.

I don't understand how people that play turn by turn games can now report on them. Most of my turns require a couple of days and I don't play online games. So I guess from now on they would rather have online games. Instead of great stories with battle reports, broken down turn by turn over the period of a month. I have a job and family I cannot play online games, but turn by turn games with other players from the site are the main reason I visit this site. I don't think I will be consistent vistor without the Turn by Turn games.

Overall I give the Mods an A for effort, but a F for not understanding what the user community really wanted.

I mean, we can have the online games...but we can't have the battle reports I come to this site and read? That tipple and sundevil apparently just wasted thier time on? And now, the tournies are lost. Unfortunately, we won't see those tournies again....and why? Bumping? I have seen like, 80 bumps of people on thier own posts. Delete all those, why don't you? Half the battle formations would be gone. i never get responses on my teams anyway, and i get more intelligent talk about HC than "ICEMAN IS A DSSSCRAGE AND JLON L SHOOD BE FIRRED!" at my shop. I might come here to double check stats, but most of those are wrong too.

Guys, thank you for your opinions on this subject but please understand this change was not made willy-nilly. We have been in contact with the creators of the threads to find a resolution and a good middle ground.

There are a lot of trash posts on the Realms, we're working on cleaning them up, if you see a problem post or a problem user who is doing a lot of spamming and bumping then report them and we will deal with the problem.

Have a good site guys. I was planning on making a donation and I know many of the patrons of the Biggest Tournament in the World already have. I regret that they were unaware of your future plans when they made this decision. Aparently 100k views can be wrong. I have had alot of fun reading this site as I don't participate in tournaments very often anymore and I regret that I will have no reason to visit this site anymore. I'm glad that the proprietors of this site are fans of the game but they forgot that we are the fans that matter.

I sincerely hope that this site continues to succeed but it will have to do so without me.

Hey guys. No need to be angry. I know first hand that if tourney authors pm'ed the mods the mods were willing to take the time to respond to concerns.

Its their site, and their decision, so even if they weren't going to change it, I found them willing to explain it so that I could understand it.

Meanwhile, there are other internet resources for tourney hosts to use to share their work with the readers. I've been trying to talk to tipplej and Sunny D about reviving their work so that people could still enjoy it.

If you want to see the their work continue, I suggest you contact them and try to convince them to carry on.

If enough people express their desire to see the work continue, perhaps it will.

I'd just like to point out the part 9 of tipplej's tourney and Sundevil's Tag Team supreme tourney have both been reposted in the new Virtual Battles section of the forum. Apparently, only the thread authors can post there though. It's clear that the mods are listening to everyone's concerns and I'm sure that it can all work again even if it takes just a little more effort on our part.

I just noticed that the new section only shows up when I'm not logged in. If I come to the forums anonymously I can see it. The moment I log in, it's gone. Log out, and it's back again. Weird.

As long as you don't actually log-in, you can see and view the the Virtual Battle section just fine; well, I can anyway. But once I log-in, I can't even see it anymore.
