I played a decent game last weekend with this roster - first time I tried out Fury - he's VERY playable, even when injured. I set up three squads - two sniper squads (sniper/medic/mandroid/agent) - pumped up snipers whenever I could. Third squad - Nick and his troopers marched down the middle for base to base fighting. Worked out nicely. Fury and the Mandroid Armors closed in and finished off stragglers in the endgame.

Shield Army - 298/300 pts

Nick Fury (U) 62
Mandroid Armor (V) 36
Mandroid Armor (V) 36
Shield Sniper (V) 18
Shield Sniper (V) 18
Shield Medic (V) 16
Shield Medic (V) 16
Shield Agent (V) 14
Shield Agent (V) 14
Shield Trooper (V) 17
Shield Trooper (V) 17
Shield Trooper (V) 17
Shield Trooper (V) 17

Looks good. I know SHIELD teams can be effective. below is the team i used to come in second in a tournament a few weeks ago.

I think the game is much more enjoyable if you use a theme and both of those teams look as if they are competition worthy. But I have two questions for Napa.

1. Why didn't you try to use those eight extra points? SHIELD teams are pretty flexible in this way.
2. Did you succesfully beat any Firelord/barrier teams?

Thanks for looking at my Shield roster. I agree - theme teams are fun to play. Shield has quite a bit to offer too - RC experts, support and TK. Fury is extremely versitile and hard to KO as long as he's surrounded by grunts.

wow, that does look cool...but how can you get all your troops in position???...after all, you only get 3 actions, maybe 4 if your lucky...and doesnt the SHIELD ability cancel out RCE???

I just let the sniper squads set on the edge of the board for most of the time. Anyone comes in range they get shot. Mandroid Armor can TK the squad one clix at a time up to 10 spaces to get closer. Also used TK to bring my medics closer to FURY. I don't think Shield team ability cancels out Sniper's RCE since she's not using an action other than firing with RCE. So the sniper hits hard. If someone closes in on the sniper - use Mandroid armor to TK them back into range.

I used Fury and the troopers for advance guards for engaging enemy and luring them into sniper range. Troopers can machine gun any weenies that get in the way too. Fury has all sorts of things he can do - running shot is always useful - mastermind is great in squad formation. Plus I pumped up Nick a couple of times too.

Towards the end of the game I was chasing the enemy around with flanking Mandroid Armors and Fury.

With all those clix on the map I always had something I could do without pushing too hard.

It's just a swarm team. If you are playing for time/points it's handy because the shield guys are cheap and CAN take out more expensive clix. Shield is whittled away slowly unless EE hits.

I'm not saying it's tournament viable but it was fun.

1.this is as best as i could rememberthat team. i could easily upgrade any member but i was limited by what i had at the time.
2.i didn't come across any but i did manage to take out Flash and Nightcrawler. it i did i would use the weaker members to tie up F-lord and taxi so i could force him to break while Fury pings away.
