Mastermind doesn't show up until the last click on the dial, where it will almost never come into play. That is one power that should ALWAYS be top-dial. Really not that impressed by this piece. 150 points for 7 clicks is too much to pay, IMHO.

the hot one started out with stealth so you couldn see him and mystic so if you did hit him you would regret it, this one can use shape change for his entire dial so he should be able to use caomoflauge which could make it a little harder to hit him, id rather use the hot 200 point version, or the 125 lady loki.

My favorite dial from this mini set. The trait Shape Change is what does it for me. His damage powers are the best in the game, and he's got them for the entire dial. Also, Phasing, Mind Control, Psychic Blast, Invuln... All these powers scream Loki. Well costed, playable, a great alternative to the HoT Super Rare for a cheaper point cost. Great job on this figure.

To me, this Loki is better to have the Mystics TA. I don't mind if it gets a few points higher. This one can take a beating in it's first clicks, while the HOT SR Loki uses mastermind (so it's like mystics or mastermind). Also this Loki can be carried by Valkyries.

I think all these pieces are good just not compared to the ones from the actual set, but those were amazing so these are just alternates if like me you didnt get a lot from the set.

Look, this set is good for the under 20 dollar value plus the map and I will get 1. Though any1 saying any of these compare at all or can replace the hot versions is reaching. Look, the volstaag has its use if you have hot fandral or hogun. I wouldn't call the other pieces useless. I just think they are glorified golden age figures With 1 star power and 3 players with boxes and only a total of 3 combined clix that have even has it(the last click of each warrior 3). Hogun looses indomitable in this set. In my opinion the mutant mayhem loki kills this one. Sorry guys if you want to have the true tanks all these figs can be. You have to spend the money on the hot version. You didn't think they were gonna give you almost 100 dollars worth of clix and a map for 20 bucks did you?

@302cbiz- though I agree with what you say about them not being as good as the HOT versions, there are some key things you have to look at. The main reason they made this set was so that people could get the Volstagg and Loki fiugres to round out their HOT sets. This Loki is very good for his points. I think that his trait makes up for the lack of a TA. The SP on TW3's dial help to keep the fiugres in the game and save them from any killing blows that HOT versions of TW3's would otherwise suffer. Also the power cannot be outwitted from the get go since it is the last dial ;). Plus they can be used interchangbley and still get the bonuses of the trait on HOT. It all really depends on how you build your team and other variables, (Map choice, feats, BFC etc..). Overall very point effective and defintaley worth there weight in gold. BTW-Your right about MM Loki, he is a freaking beast even in todays games he he!

This is my favorite Loki to date, 1. it's dude Loki, was never a fan of girl Loki, 2nd he's got damage reducers up front unlike the SR from hot, and he's only 150pts. The problem with the HoT version for me is that he's in the 200's and while he has that neat mastermind power up front, he lacks damage reducers which for me is a must for any fig over 200pts. This loki is cheap enough to be part of a team without being it's focal point. This guy was the reason I bought the set, Loki's one of my favorite villains and I'm really glad they made this version of him.

Ignoring the fact that Hammer of Thor is increasingly more difficult to come by, and that this includes two pieces that were Super Rares, I have no idea what you base your opinion on.

THIS is Loki to me. Sure, he lacks Mystics in terms of gameplay, but this is bang on for a God of Mischief. He toys with you, Mind Controls you and then if you attack him he annihilates your brain (Psychic Blast) or has someone take the damage for him (Mastermind). It's how Loki actually involves himself in battle. That it's a HoT pack means I can finally get my "dance puppets" sculpt as well.

I got this set today. I stand by my prior post 100% This loki is the worst of the 3 male loki's made. I am not saying it is a terrible piece. It is not that bad for the cost. Though it doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as the hot loki. It is 50 points less than the hot yes. Tough you lose mystic, stealth, probability, and psychic blast on the 1st few dials. Not to mention it's boxed defense of mastermind with a range4. Which combined with stealth makes him a beast. Yeah he has outwit and perplex but the hot 1 gets the power to use both. He has shape change as a trait which is not bad. But not that redeeming to me. Take that away and you have a decent golden age figure. I still would take the mm 1 over this 1 any day.

Just got this set and my dial is off. Mine has Super Senses on clicks 4, 5 and 6 instead of Invulerability, Toughness & Toughness.

The utility that this piece provides is what stands out to me. The ability to push to the specific support power you need (Outwit, then Perplex, then PC, and back again) is pretty useful. Now, with the rest of the stats here, would I pay his cost for this utility in a 300 pt game? Probably not.
His defensive numbers could be higher, but I feel the addition of the Shape Change trait pushes the defensive numbers back up to just above average when looking at the probabilities of the dice rolls.
The problem lies in his lower damage potential. At half of your build total in a 300 pt game, he probably won't do enough damage output to justify him. In larger point games, he'll do well if you can just keep him in the background.
Regardless, this new Loki is a piece that definitely has the mischievous part down.

Two of my three roommates have this piece and he drives me nuts. Shape Change as a trait is just brutal! Top dial Phasing and Outwit are a great combo, he gets Perplex and Prob, Psychic Blast is always welcome on ranged attackers and he even gets Mind Control while his damage takes a number dive! I really don't see why he is getting any hate at all. I've played against him many times and he always seems to be an MVP in every game he's in. He might not be the monster that the HoT version is, but this one is still a solid A+ of a figure in my book.
