Hello Everyone,
Long time listener, first time caller... so to speak.
I was wondering if you guys can help me out on an upcoming tournament I am going to attend. It's my also my first.
The rules for the tourney is:
1. Any figure from DC or Marvel can be used
2. 300 Point Team
3. No flyer
4. No Duplicates:not even dfferent ranks (although alwasy don't put duplicaets of any kind anyway)
5. No figures under 30
Well, I only did exclusive DC so I only have 1 Marvel character with me (just because I like my E Back Cat). Since, I'm going to be facing Marvel and I have basically just DC, I think I would be outgunned in a fully ranged combat battle.
Here are a couple of ideas I'm thinking of: (feel free to help me decde or tweak)
Team 1: Heavy Hitters
V Doomsday
V Swamp Thing
E Black Cat
- Just from the premise that I can't get a ranged Combat avantage against an envionment with Marvel in it.
- Doomsday was good befoe but now that no flyers are allowed, he seems to be a pretty good pic.
- With Black Cat's Wildcard Team abiliy, this provides Doomsday with Outwit. Her leap/climb allows her to follow doomsdy around and stick with him.
- Swamp Thing's phasing allows him to go trough walls indoors.
Team 2: Gotham Guys
V Nightwing
V Catwoman
E Batman
E Harley Quinn
E Black Cat
- Just to take advantage of the Batman team ability. Probaly one of the few ways I can sneak in ranged combat. Harley's there to give Perplex or Smoke Cloud (later on).
Team 3: More Close Combat
V Swamp Thing
V Flash
E Bane (or V Solomon Grundy)
E Black Cat
- Swamp Thing and Flash can go aound the board pretty easily without flyers.
- With Black Cat around, should I use Solomon Grundy instead of Bane because of Impervious but I think he's too slow (esp without flyers).
Team 4: Psychic Backup
V Swamp Thing
V Gorilla Grodd
E Black Cat
U The Key
- Swamp Thng as the Heavy Hitter and to get across the board.
- Gorilla Grod and Key to provide Backup of Mind Control and Rnged Backup.
Team 5: (thanks to one of the guys from the Marvel forum)
V Nightwing
V Flash
V Swamp thing
E Black Cat
- Nightwng and Black Cat (wildcard ability) has stealth
- All of them have a way of getting around (hypersonic, leap/climb, phasing)
- Hard to hit (SS and Impervious) esp with black cat.
- Outwits from Nightwing and Flash
