Surprises to me:

Not really any more Serpent Society members. I was expecting one of the three: Death Adder, Cottonmouth or Bushmaster. Likewise I was expecting to see at least one more GLA'er.

Kitty Pryde: Agent of Shield! Didn't see that coming.

Mentallo! Neato!

Luke Cage - again, didn't see it coming.

I had to look up Hardball and Nightshade to see what their deal was, and I had to refresh my memory of Maelstorm.

Quasar/Wendell Vaughn's appearance makes me think there may be a Serpent Crown SO in the set.

The Eel? okay, I guess. Never been made so that's a good thing.

I count 6 removable elements in the poster: Cap's Shield, Falcon's falcon, Scorpio's key, Monkey Joe, and the Fantastic Siblings. Am I missing any?

Edit: Wolverine/Weapon X in his "holding tank" and perhaps Cap in a Block of ice (#60) would make 8.

Shame to see that most of the Winter Guard are rares though.

But so far, no Super Rare associated piece. So that's something.

Totally torn with this announcement.

Good:
Kitty Pryde - although bummed she is a SR.
Mentallo and Fixer - w00t!
Loving Viper
Luke Cage is strangely interesting.
Darkstar- yay.
Yelena Black Widow - sweet on 2 fronts - if Natasha sucks this gives me a second chance. If she doesn't I have an evil Black Widow.

Bad -
Is the only "true" Captain America a frigging dual base? Seriously? That ubersucks!
Only 1 great Lakes Avenger???
Where the hell is the Serpent Society?
A lot of characters I'm not too interested in.

The good is great but there is a lot of disappointment here as well. Maybe dials will recharge my excitement .

Figures that have me pumped: -2 Black Widows! I hope Natasha has Spider-Allies TA. -Thunderbolts Luke Cage! I've not liked any version of Cage we've had so far, so I'm hoping this one gets it right. Less lifting, more hitting! -Viper looks awesome. Hope the dial matches. Hellfire Club keyword, I hope? -Falcon with what looks to be a removable Redwing. Now THAT is cool! As one who doesn't mind double bases in the least, I think this looks awesome. -Scorpion from that forgotten mini? Could be very interesting. -Armadillo looks ridiculous! I love it! -Eel rounds out Sin's team, and the electric effects are neat. -Coolest looking Cap ever! As I said before, double bases don't bother me; I'll be seeking that fig out. -Fixer! Why they felt he needed a new version I'm not sure, but the Thunderbolts fan in me is glad they did. -Quasar looks to be rockin' it... -Original Zemo! About time! -Kitty Pryde of SHIELD? Looks like that may end up being a sculpt swap for me... Looks like I want about 42 figures off that poster. 1 brick (like I preordered) should get me a fair amount of that. I'm happy to see that. Great looking setlist, and a lot of new stuff there.

Hmm. Four down, three across - who is that?

Overall, this is kinda funny. It's like someone browsed the old TSR Marvel game looking for characters not clixed yet, and then based a set almost entirely around those missing characters. Seriously, browse the A-Z in the source book for that game and you'll see.

Not complaining though! I love those wacky mid-range villains. It reminds me of how the heroclix game felt back when Infinity Challenge was released :)

They should have saved Bi-Beast for this set, heh.

four down three across is deadly nightshade...an old power man villain. she has popped recently in Modok's 11 (yay!!) and the new power man.

I'm excited for darkstar and ursa major, but really bummed her brother vanguard isn't there as well....there are other cool soviet super soldiers (like red guardian and crimson dynamo who we got) but the original three were really the big ones

I don't get why everyone is saying its kitty pryde agent of shield, heck I don't even know what sort of contiunity that would be from, but I'm very happy for a new kitty...unless it turns out she doesnt have xmen TA :(

oh and YAY new quasar!!! annihilators will be a little less painful to play ;)

armadillo is super awesome (more modoks 11 goodness) and jack flag for more GotG...tho it appears he'll need modding for that (I'm all good with this, they picked the right costume for a cap set)

also jazzed about jack monroe nomad (figured he was pretty likely) tho i'm sure he won't look as cool as vestige's mod ;)

the inclusion of hardball is kinda cool, but he's not exactly tops on my list of figs from the initiative I'd like to get

I think the fig i was most hoping for that wasn't in this set other than vanguard would be the eric o'grady ant-man...really hoped he'd make an appearance..

hm... looking at the near full set, i am glad i didn't order a case this time around. Only super rare i am interested in is Kitty Pride (only if she is x-men) and maybe test-tube wolvie and ice cap if they are not chase. The CUR set has some good stuff and i expect to get most of them in one brick (i will pick up missing ones from Hcrealms). Honestly, this is not a set for me

I'm honestly shocked we got the whole Secret Warriors team in this one.

Tiger Shark will probably be in the Hulk set. And who knows on Fantomex.

Also, no surprise on No Vanguard. It seems to be a modern team version.

The gems revealed on this poster have done more to rebuild my interest in the set than any recent previews. The core Winter Guard and most of Modok's 11 thrill me. I'm glad to see them dig deep for Hydra muscle and clix another Initiative character in Hardball. And some of the unexpected, like Eel and the Fixer just make me happy. Just one thing still rankles a tad. I love my villains, but it's a little strange that it isn't the Caps that excite me. Here's hoping that with Steve Rogers, Bucky x2, shield tossing Cap, Jack Flag and Nomad there is a Cap dial to suit every taste.

The first thing I thought when I saw the Human torch was "AWESOME! another Invader!"
I really hope it's Jim Hammond. I really don't need to see yet another Johnny Storm so soon. Or Reed, or Ben, for that matter.
Also VERY happy to see Red Guardian! I hope his stats do him justice.

And the Cap on the peanut base looks brilliant.

Definitely looking forward to this set now.

He's an LE based on his numbering. Wizkids also said he was an LE in hs preview.

Also for those wondering, there was a legit "Kitty Pryde: Agent of SHIELD" mini-series. It's a fun read. Hopefully Kitty has dual SHIELD/X-Men TA's.

I'm a little saddened by the lack of Vanguard in the set (as he rejoins the Winter Guard in the most recent mini-series). I'm even more saddened that the Presence isn't in the set as their villain.

But all and all, I'm even more pumped for this set. There are a few suprises (No A.I.M. generic?), but Cap is my favorite character and I'm happy about my case.

Lastly, looking like Weapon X and Cap on ice will be #59 and #60 respectively. So that means there are 5 "chases" (those two plus the other three unrevealed). Hopefully they're at a "1 per brick" GSX rarity to make them much easier to aquire.

If WK is not going to put all the figures on the poster (to keep surprises, I guess), could we please get the poster (or at least the poster set list) a little earlier?

Based on my decade in the game, releasing the set contents only increases pre-orders. There will always be sour pusses that say "now I won't buy much", but they weren't pre-ordering anyway!

And you got Doorman for your GLA. He's a bum but they all were. Can't say you didn't get anymore of either though.

Steve Rogers and (hopefully) a Cap over 100 points are gonna be great. Sure I've got HoT Cap, but I was hoping for a Leader-type and a Close Combat Expert. I hope the Rare Cap is more about Charge than RS.

Wendell Vaughn is a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and was trained by Cap, so he's not too odd an addition for the set. ;)

Too bad Storm and BP don't add up to an even amount. 2x Storm would, but I don't like playing dupes in fun games.

Agreed about Wendell Vaughn. Quasar was even in GREATER need than Nova to be remade (which is saying something), and has a bigger tie-in to Cap, outside of the Secret Avengers (Which was not a sub-set).

Not minding Nova's absence...in THIS set. If Infinity Gauntlet doesn't have him...Cats and Dogs living together, Mass Hysteria! I think I'm sayin'. :)

Do you know which Crimson Dynamo this is? I can't see it very well.

I also play the Gennady Gavrilov often, But I play Dimitri Bukharin every time I field Russian armor, as well as the Gremlin and Iron Widow (Well, she's Russian and in armor:cheeky:).
But for massive damage from distance, those original Dynamos are tough to beat!

They still haven't made Speed from YA. And they're from the Avengers set.

With the Runaways book on permanent hold for poor sales, I think it'll be a while before they finish them. There's really only one main member left, Chase Stein.

I don't consider Alex Wilder, Xavin, or Whedon's creation to be core members.

EDIT: Was thinking of someone else. Forgot that Chase was already made.

I think the relative value on these figures will surprise us after the initial few games are played. Strucker will probably be good, and I anticipate the Human Torch, if, indeed it's the original will be in great demand.

You forgot the part where he also Cave Carsons around and makes debris patches and totes other figures. I say Armadillo is the stealth super taxi of the set and can carry up to 4 other figures when he tunnels. With some Invul/Toughness, Charge, maybe some end clicks of BCF and Battle Fury. Good luck one shotting that terror taxi :)

I sort of feel like they're trying to step away from the extreme themes of sets like GSX, but it also seems like they spread themselves a bit TOO thin. I would have liked to see all the Great Lakes Avengers, there are definitely a couple of Serpent Society folks that seem left out, and I do sort of feel like some important Captain America characters got bumped (Crossbones especially, but also Dr. Faustus, Arnim Zola... characters that have been extremely important to the death and resurrection of Cap). I'm most surprised that there are no AIM generics.

In fact, I daresay that this feels way more like a Nick Fury set than a Captain America set. Like, I haven't read the entire run, but has Captain America ever even MET the Secret Warriors? This is totally Nick Fury's show, and Cap just is here because they're pals. Which is ultimately not a bad thing, and I'm pretty happy with the set list, but advertising it as "CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE HEROCLIX SET" led to certain expectations that haven't been met.

A couple things:

The Human Torch has a removable "Nova Blast". That is totally Johnny and not Jim - despite the fact that Jim would make way more sense for a Captain America set. I think they ran out of ideas for their new gimmick pretty quick with the SHIELD family and had to jump over to the FF. I just hope he's an even 100 points.
I am extremely curious as to how the heck Mr. Immortal and Doorman are going to work. Big Bertha and Flatman would both be really easy to make dials for, but it seems like they picked the two challenging ones instead... Which is rad, even if I'm a little miffed that we didn't get the whole team.
In a SHIELD-based set with a GLA sub-theme, I assumed Mockingbird was a sure bet. A little disappointed about that one, though the Sinister version is still totally useable.
I wish they wouldn't do things like make Captain America a Rare and Red Skull a SR. Those are the two figures new players are going to want the most. I know that Herr Skull is in the Gravity Feed too, but it still seems a little off to me on a "getting the kids to play" level.
Awkward peanut-bases are awkward. The sculpts are great, but Cap and Falcon are both expert martial artists who probably WOULDN'T let twelve people surround them at once (or have trouble walking down a narrow hallway, lol).

They almost Never put a full team in a set. With a few exceptions.

Guardians of the Galaxy didn't get Groot until WoS for example.

And there was no Shadowcat in the GSX set. Now we get Kitty.

I'm honestly shocked we got the whole Secret Warriors team in this one.

Tiger Shark will probably be in the Hulk set. And who knows on Fantomex.

Also, no surprise on No Vanguard. It seems to be a modern team version.

As an old school Cap fan, this is a GREAT set. Glad I ordered my first brick since the relaunch.

Still, I wish there had been a few more Society members, especially Black Mamba and Death Adder to complete the original squad. Anaconda's pretty lonely!

As far as major Cap baddies, Fautus is a glaring absence. They did Zola once already, so I can live without him. I wish Vanguard could have made the cut instead of one or more of the Secret Warriors, who I don't really care about.

I really expected a couple Young Avengers as well.

And to echo what others have said: Where the heck is Tigershark? People have been asking for him for years.

Still, a lot of classic baddies in this set (Cobra, Eel, etc.) so I'm pretty satified.

First off, I'm not sure if you can say issue 13 is "early on". But apparently it was a fake out by Fury as he had Druid put through training during his time off the team.

Second, it does count. Some folks might want to play the Secret Warriors circa their first appearance, when he was there. Just like some folks would like to play the contemporary lineups of Runaways or Young Avengers (though I wouldn't expect Speed to be made until the Avengers set in 2012).

I am surprised that with them throwing Skeleton Crew in as a keyword, there's no Mother Night or Machinesmith.

I have no kind words to offer on behalf of the concept of Pet Avengers. (The Legion of Super Pets was one of many reasons why DC was so easy for me to ignore in the sixties.) As some are asking for them and as Wizkids has demonstrated again and again that they are listening and are trying to eventually fulfill every odd desire from the fans, I suspect you'll eventually get them.

That said, it's no bother to me if they give Redwing that keyword somehow. (I'm presuming that, at best, as a separate agent he's going to have a set-up like Monkey Joe,. where he's essentially a bystander token, with a single click of stats.) These are potentially a new variety of character piece/game element, after all.
Well, on closer inspection of the set poster, I have to say I'm a little disappointed that there aren't any basic AIM soldiers though... :/
I was working through that as we were seeing more from the set over the past few weeks, and by today's reveal would have been surprised, however pleasantly, by them being there. In terms of themed minions for MODOK (and the Scientist Supreme, one supposes) they went with the Adaptoids, along with giving the AIM keyword to Batroc and Klaw.

With luck they'll sneak in one of them in their beekeeper rigs in the future set. In the meantime, I may see about digging out some of my old ones as cannon fodder, TA-suppliers and otherwise for team-rounding.

Great surprise to see the poster and thanks for a little 4th of July treat. But I am sad that there is so little Golden Age stuff. A few of CPT America's WW2 era cohorts would have been nice. Thought maybe a Ms America/Whizzer (even as a duo), original Angel, some of the Liberty Legion, a better Human Torch would be appropriate for this set.

Totally agree. Rep. I really wanted to see a golden age Angel in here. I really enjoyed Marvels Project and was hoping to see some other golden age people. John Steele, golden Age Vision, and Destroyer would have been cool too. And I'm surprised at no new Namor. Not that the SI one needs to be updated, just that it will be taken out of modern age next year, and I want one with the X-Men Keyword. Maybe he"ll be in Hulk with some other Defenders like Damion Helstrom.

Like the set over all. Really looking forward to Kitty, Falcon, Quasar, and Invisible Woman.

Did you only read to the second issue? Johnny recovers and leaves with Sue to join cap. The umbrellas they make from their powers as they are leaving the Baxter Building were a great little extra the artist threw in. They then get under cover identities as husband and wife, which is awkward. Johnny dies his hair black. Ringing any bells?

I have been waiting for a new Falcon since Sinister (Ultimate doesn't count) and I get a double base?

Come on Wizkids. Save the double-bases for characters that occupy larger spaces.

Even if the Falcon and Redwing is a duo character, Redwing doesn't justify the extra space. Heck, even some two full-sized person duos don't have a double base (Hawk and Dove, Cap and Bucky, Batman and Robin).

Artistry is fine, but the game still has mechanics, and double-bases are, at present, a net negative in almost every case.

And Captain America is no better, but there will be Captain Americas. We had one three Marvel sets ago. Chances are better than fair that we will get another one (or more) next year.

Falcon, though? It's been 5 years since we got the last one. It could be another five until we see the next one.

Otherwise, looks okay.

A lot of stuff that I do not care about, but a handful that I do want. I am wondering about the Human Torch again, though. When I saw the Invisible Woman I thought that it would be Johnny, but without Reed or Ben, I am back to being unsure.
Still hoping it's Johnny, though.

First off, I'm not sure if you can say issue 13 is "early on". But apparently it was a fake out by Fury as he had Druid put through training during his time off the team.

Second, it does count. Some folks might want to play the Secret Warriors circa their first appearance, when he was there. Just like some folks would like to play the contemporary lineups of Runaways or Young Avengers (though I wouldn't expect Speed to be made until the Avengers set in 2012).

I am surprised that with them throwing Skeleton Crew in as a keyword, there's no Mother Night or Machinesmith.

Yup. Mother Night was another one I was hoping for, and since they just brought Machinesmith back in the Steve Rogers: Super-Soldier mini, I was kinda hoping for him, too. But we got Batroc, so my must have for a Cap C-lister is here, and I shall be grateful for him, and not complain. :)

Totally agree. Rep. I really wanted to see a golden age Angel in here. I really enjoyed Marvels Project and was hoping to see some other golden age people. Yup. I was really hoping for more Invaders. It's a freakin' Cap set. Jim Hammond's pretty much the only piece from Secret Invasion that I think needs an update, and I really want an Aarkus. John Steele would have been a great surprise, but we got Jack Flag which was an even bigger surprise (and has more uses for me!), so again, I'm not complaining. :)

Oh and for those concerned with finishing the unfinished teams, don't forget that Jack Flag *should* have the Guardians of the Galaxy. He's been there the last few times they were really used for something big. (War of Kings and The Thanos Imperative)

Should be a welcome addition as long as his legs work

If he doesn't have the GotG keyword, someone missed the boat! Now we just need Cosmo! :D

As for pieces that I wish were in the set... there were three that I was kind of expecting that aren't here. Moon Knight, American Dream and Rikki Barnes (as either Bucky or Nomad). Moon Knight we'll probably see in Mighty Avengers, and people would have rioted if we got Rikki before Jack Monroe, but this was the perfect opportunity for American Dream... I have a feeling we'll never see her now. :\

Fantomex and Faustus will never be any kind of a "chase." They're not the right style.

The final one... I really have no sure bets, but maybe something along the lines of Punisher Cap.

I'm hoping that Redwing is a removable character on Falcon's base (similar to Monkey Joe).

I didn't expect Cap to be on a double base, but I'm sure that he has a trait or SP that grants him ES/D as long as one half of his base occupies hindering. It would also be cool if he had Move and Attack or Carry for a few clicks to represent his motorcycle.

Surprises to me:

Not really any more Serpent Society members. I was expecting one of the three: Death Adder, Cottonmouth or Bushmaster. Likewise I was expecting to see at least one more GLA'er.

Well, he is a member of the Serpent Society. So for the Serpent Society, we get:

Yeah, I was hoping for a 6th member too. And I was really hoping for Death Adder. :(

I was also kinda hoping for Whizzer, Miss America, and Melter. Two missing Invaders and a missing MoE member would have been appreciated by me.

It looks like a solid set though. I like that we got SOME SS members. I like that Nomad and Jack Flag made the cut. Bucky Cap is welcome. That Steve Cap pose looks awesome (though I'm not sure it's worth having to put it on a peanut base). I like that we got a new Falcon, with Redwing (though again - peanut base...ugh). The Winter Guard are a welcome addition. Armadillo, Scorpio and Fixer are nice surprises. If that is Baron Zemo I, it's a clix I gotta have. A new MODOK is awesome. Mr. Hyde and Klaw are two remakes I've been waiting for.

I wish they'd avoided the FF in this set, but I understand with the removable mechanic why they are in there. I'd rather have Whizzer and Death Adder in those spots though. :)

All in all, the set looks good. I'm ready to open boosters! :)

I was really hoping for Porcupine, Hate-Monger and Machinesmith. But I'm super-thrilled with Armadillo, Batroc, Eel, Cobra, Fixer, Maelstrom, Ursa Major and Heinrich Zemo.

I could have gone the rest of my life without seeing Hardball, Scorpion, the Secret Warriors, Gorgon and Squirrel Girl but I understand they have to make some modern garbage in order to get the kids to buy into a set that supports Heinrich Zemo.

Correct me if I'm wrong but with Maelstrom I believe Heroclix just got its first Deviant. Here's hoping we see Kro, Karkas and few Eternals down the line.

Why would this human torch be Johnny Storm? Cap ran around with the original android Human Torch in WWII. I was kinda suprised there was not another Namor in the set, he ran with Cap and of course found him originally and took him from the eskimos.
I was hoping for a couple of original avengers in the set but hey I guess people would rather have GLA characters.
I am excited about the set and can't wait to get them.

There will be many people and stores selling prize kits the week the set comes out. Depending on who the LEs are, you can probaly snag a set of all LEs, any 3D objects, and map for $40-$60 on eBay.

Can't speak for commandercool, but I typically enjoy Joss Whedon's work and still felt his Runaways run was a steaming pile.

It seemed no one could pick up the series after Vaughan left. These were good writers, but excruciatingly bad work. I'd thought Whedon or Moore should have been a slam-dunk, but somehow they disappointed me. I'll confess that I'd given up by the time anyone else had a shot, so maybe it got better, but after waiting that long I'd lost my patience.

For me, I'm saddened these characters weren't included:
-AIM Generic
-More HYDRA unique baddies spotlighted in the Secret Warriors books
-More Serpent Society
-More Secret Avengers (Mainly a new Moon Knight who needs a awesome sculpt and tougher dial, and improved Nova)
-No normal old-school Avengers Captain America, or even a re-born Captain America (I'm sure that the double base/ice Caps are supposed to represent this, but it would have been nice to get a close-combat monster without a gimmick in a common/uncommon slot)
-A few more tougher super-powered villain types

However, I am thrilled to see:
-Nomad
-Jack Flag
-Both Black Widows
-Falcon and Red-Wing (I'm not too disappointed they are on a peanut base. I'm guessing this was done partially for the sculpt/removable piece mechanic, and partially due to some awesome new playability in these clix where giving them the peanut base helps keep them balanced. Both Cap and Falcon could have some really interesting and helpful special powers based on tossing the shield and using Red-Wing's sight. I'm assuming they are pieces that might not require being moved into the middle of the fray as much.)
-What looks to be several mid-priced villains with hopefully helpful special powers to give the Marvel villain teams a boost.
-Lots of previously unmade clix.

This does look to be mostly a street-level powered set, and that's ok sometimes. Without seeing all the dials, but I would guess that this will be a VERY fun blind booster draft game expansion. There will probably be a LOT of team-building options at the 300pt mark, which hasn't always been the case. There looks to be a focus on grunt-building, Running Shot, basic Charging bricks and a lot of secondary attackers/harassers. Games built around this kind of play will be a bit like old times and should be a lot of fun. There may not be a lot of top tournament pieces, but the fun, comic book thematic play should be a blast! And, that's more important to me.:)

at first i reserved a case, now i think i'm gonna call the comic shop and drop it to a brick....if even that. i am not really impressed by this set at all. i know there are a lot of classic cap fans out there. but there are also a lot of people who AREN'T. and I for one just dont really care. i was ho hum about this set to begin with. now i'm more or less just disappointed. there are a few exciting figures like kitty pryde, dirk anger, bucky cap, and crimson dynamo, but its just too few to hook me. maybe i'll just get like a half a brick and hope that the sealed tournaments pull through for the super rares and rares i want. meh......

So just like the gsx set. When we of the fast ball special duo base in preview pics. Though there was no mention of them in the weeks leading into it. Not even on the poster. Then we opened our 1st brick and figured it out. On the first cap preview map it mentions removables mechanic in plural form. Also since we are missing 4 from the rumored final count. I am racking my brain to what other 3 pieces it could be.

Not complaining mind you because I am totally loving the set list, but wasn't Weapon X going to be a sub-theme for the set along with Secret Warriors and GLA? But other that the Weapon X in the tube, there is no representation from the Program (although Steve Cap is Weapon I). Was really hoping that would be the rationale to fit a Fantomex in there as well as hoping to get a Weapon Alpha aka Guardian aka Vindicator and maybe another Weapon X member. Que Sera though. I'll live. Live happily with such a great set list that is. Glad I got a case coming. Here's hoping the 5 Chases are Weapon X in the tube, Cap in the ice, "Sniper" Druid from Secret Warriors, Fantomex, and Leonardo Da Vinci (What?!? A guy can hope. If not DaVinci then at least a S.H.I.E.L.D. Stark and Richards Duo. No really a guy can hope.)

I don't particularly care for that character, largely because she had no character development at all in the short run the series had after her introduction. I've tried to be optimistic and I'll reserve my final judgment when I see some dials. And I know I'm gonna get slack for this, but these b-list and c-list heroes aren't my cup of tea, and neither are the unknown villains. I'll still give them a whirl, since it would be hypocritical to not give them a chance and judge them just because I've never heard of them. This is only marginally related, but if you want to know more about many of the characters in this set without reading a bunch of comics (which you should do). Netflix has put up the Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon for streaming (in the US, at least).

The following characters/groups from this set were featured Captain America, Bucky, Klaw, Maria Hill, Black Widow, Black Panther, Crimson Dynamo, Red Skull, Baron Strucker, Baron Zemo, MODOK, Human Torch (briefly), HYDRA, SHIELD, AIM and the Howling Commandos. I believe Gorgon and the Fixer were also in there. Anyway, it gives some decent back story and was pretty fun, especially once you get past the introduction episodes. Oh, and lots of Asgardians, Hulk, Iron Man, Ant Man, Wasp and Hawkeye, too.

That's what I'd expect in a Cap-themed set, not GLA!

The GLA are only taking up three spaces. Four if you count Maelstrom, as he was the main villain of their mini-series. Personally, I assumed that they were going to take up a much bigger space, considering the team only has six members. I also figured that Hawkeye and Mockingbird would be in there with the GLA keyword as well.

I do agree with you on Master Man, though. He's a pretty darned important Cap villain to get left out. As I said in my earlier post, I feel like this is way more of a Nick Fury set than a Cap set.

I could have gone the rest of my life without seeing Hardball, Scorpion, the Secret Warriors, Gorgon and Squirrel Girl but I understand they have to make some modern garbage in order to get the kids to buy into a set that supports Heinrich Zemo.

Do you really think that The Initiative, Secret Warriors, and GLA were "garbage"? Because I LOVED The Initiative and GLA, and thought Secret Warriors was hit-or-miss but overall entertaining. I don't necessarily think they fit a Captain America theme (though again, many of them fit a Nick Fury theme), but they are all well-written and fun books, two of which introduced a ton of compelling new characters.

I am a guy who LOVES him some Golden Age Nazi-punching, but that doesn't mean there's no room for new things too.

I think it's interesting that half the folks here (including me, to an extent) are upset that the set isn't focused on Captain America enough, and the other half are angry that we didn't get the obscure later Runaways characters. I like Xavin just fine, but I am totally okay continuing to use a Skrull Warrior.

In a set that is totally overrun with sub-themes like this one, I can't imagine who'd get the axe to fit in people from Runaways. Probably Cap and Falcon or something, lol.

love all the d-listers. great additions to the 'clixworld. given that falcon is a dual-base i wouldn't be surprised if he had :a-duo: when redwing is attached.
I love how Cage and Hyde are standing side by side, having a race to see who can take a dump in their pants first.

Well, he is a member of the Serpent Society. So for the Serpent Society, we get:

Diamondback
Viper
Eel
Sin

Yeah, I was hoping for a 6th member too. And I was really hoping for Death Adder. :(

I was also kinda hoping for Whizzer, Miss America, and Melter. Two missing Invaders and a missing MoE member would have been appreciated by me.

It looks like a solid set though. I like that we got SOME SS members. I like that Nomad and Jack Flag made the cut. Bucky Cap is welcome. That Steve Cap pose looks awesome (though I'm not sure it's worth having to put it on a peanut base). I like that we got a new Falcon, with Redwing (though again - peanut base...ugh). The Winter Guard are a welcome addition. Armadillo, Scorpio and Fixer are nice surprises. If that is Baron Zemo I, it's a clix I gotta have. A new MODOK is awesome. Mr. Hyde and Klaw are two remakes I've been waiting for.

I wish they'd avoided the FF in this set, but I understand with the removable mechanic why they are in there. I'd rather have Whizzer and Death Adder in those spots though. :)

All in all, the set looks good. I'm ready to open boosters! :)

props for wanting the melter too. we can fudge the black knight, making the melter the only original MoE member missing

Don't forget that WoS Deadpool is another GLA member that is tourny legal lol!

Oh and everyone is mentioning the 5 potential chases but I have a question. Does the set go to 63 or is it to 62 and the fifth is the BibtB LMD version of Nick Fury most likely numbered 100?

Man this set is so awesome. I love me some D-listers.

My Deadpool is happy that there are a few GLA'ers to team up with. Making that keyword a bit more feasible. Though the missing Hawkeye confuses me.

See, I figure he'll be in the Avengers set come next year. But between understandable remakes like him, unmade Avengers like Dr. Druid, missing members of YA & GLI, and new folks like kids from the Avengers Academy (or the Initiative)... that is going to be a crowded set.

Glad we're getting the Soviet Super Soldiers. Hope Vanguard is one of the missing.

I love Falc but hate double bases. I'm guessing Redwing snaps off for something.

A lot of figs took me by surprise. Didn't expect any of the GLA. Or Armadillo.

This is just one of those sets that was never going to appeal to everyone... The classic Cap fans don't want things like GLA or Secret Warriors... the newer fans are only interested in Kitty Pryde and Squirrel Girl... I'm starting to think that the smaller sets with tighter themes might be the way to go... Personally, I was hoping for Invaders, and I don't play villains that often, so seeing that most of the classic/80s/90s era Cap stuff represented are villains, I'm mildly disappointed.

But all that being said, I'm definitely glad this set is here, and it's as...random...as it is. Shows me that WizKids is definitely willing to throw in some more obscure characters. Or that at least Marvel will let them do so. DC being so controlling, I'm still not sure if we'll ever see more randomness like Cave Carson ever again...

Still and all, very happy for the set. I don't care about GLA myself, but several of my friends do, so they're happy. I'm all in for Quasar, Jack Flag and the Secret Warriors. And Batroc. Like I said, I don't play villains much, but I'll make an exception for Batroc and Armadillo. :)
