More importantly why don't I have that much?

...and on that note, why do we want it? Is there a cash exchange rate or something? :prereq:

Because you're just so pretty!

You get repped if someone liked what you posted. I think you need to have 50 posts before your white '0' turns into a number.

Okay, I'll ask because I've never known. What's the difference between the green and white numbers?

I think green is your rep and white is how much rep you give.

Owlman
07/06/2011, 11:41
The green is how much rep you have, the white is how much rep you can give.

Edit: Ninja'd. Rep to FeuJaune.

Okay, so....when you give rep, do you give 1 point? 10? There are things in play that are not obvious here, lol

You give whatever amount of points are written in white above your posts. People with more rep to their names have more rep to give.

when you rep you give as much points as your white number...when I rep I give as much points as my white number...
so rep from veterans with lots of points count more...

:( I can't REP anyone?? Waaah...... I'll have to go make some spam posts so I can get to 50+ posts. I was trying to only post when I had something worthwhile to say. I guess I forgot I was on the internet. :p

So when you give the white amount of REP, does it deduct that from your total, like a bank account or is it a flat amount you give independent of your total?

Thanks for the brief education on something I hadn't really noticed.

FeuJaune
07/06/2011, 17:04
It's a flat rate, you don't lose it.

And I thought you could rep but couldn't give points?

You're not. But the rest of us are so non-awesome that you look awesome by comparison. It's a "ratio" thing.

Speaking of ratio, is there a ratio between the "green give" and "white take" numbers?

You know, there used to be negative rep. The powers that be decided it was a bad thing, so be pleased with what rep you have accumulated. It's like aging, it can't be taken away from you (except for Morgan Fairchild, how come that #$%^& never ages!!!??).

I haven't noticed an exact ratio, but if you compare the numbers, the first digits of the green and white always seem to be the same, and the more digits you have, the more that match... Can't figure out where the non-matching numbers come from though...

what you want rep ooooo.k

DemonRS

Here's how it works..

The green number is your total number of rep points earned (based off other people's white numbers at the time they repped you).
The white number is how much you'd give to someone else when you rep them (if looking at your own profile) or receive (if gained from someone else when looking at the white number next to their name).

For instance right now my rep is:
Rep: 20252050 | 202528 (white number)

If I rep you now your green number would grow by 202528.

The white number is obviously a fraction of your green number (I don't know exactly how that works I forget).

So based on the 11 rep comments you've receveived, based off their current white rep numbers your green number would look as such:
neoclix - 1245975
antedoX - 117253
hanzoslash - 73027
rorschachparadox - 275304
Puuka - 292722
theemaxx52ad - 84372
veritas610349 - 22200
BudPalmer - 8586437
prekrap - 420448
MegaLotusMan - 49710
SLVRSR4 - 7879375

= 19046823

Of course their rep was a bit different over the course of the month, so your number is different.. hence the 17376305

However.. This system may be changing a bit in the future.

there are many, many forums for this very purpose. *looks at the LPC, Ogres, and various Chit-Chat threads...*
