Copying the rules post from K-ness who copied the rules from Magnito... mostly...
Things to remember:
1) A full writeup of the rules can be found here: http://www.mafiascum.net/
2) When you vote, please do so by saying Vote: [Player] in bold. If you wish to change your vote, please say Change Vote: [Player] instead. Voting for 'Nobody' is a valid vote; if a majority votes for 'nobody' then nobody will be lynched and we'll move on to the Night phase. You can vote for yourself if you choose, so be careful when leaving your vote with another player.
3) If your role says you -may- PM me a target, you don't have to do anything at night. Even so, it'll speed things along quite a bit if you'd still just send me a PM saying "Not using my [whatever] power tonight, thanks."
4) If your role says you -must- PM me a target, and you do not? I'll pick one randomly. Or, perhaps, not-so-randomly. Don't blame me if you target someone who kills you.
5) You may NOT send a PM to anyone about this game unless your role explicitly says you can. This is cheating.
6) Do NOT edit your posts in this thread. This is cheating.
7) Please do not copy-and-paste anything from any PM I send you to the thread. This is also cheating.
8) Please do not post in this thread after you are killed. This, too, is cheating and can ruin the game if done wrong.
9) Cheaters may or may not get to play in other mafia games I run. It depends on the severity of the offense.
10) Remember, it's just a game. You will get paranoid, you will be stabbed in the back by someone, you will see somebody do or say something stupid and want to smack them. Just breathe deep and relax. If things get out of hand, we do have a mod playing who will forcibly remind you to chill out if needed. It hasn't happened yet, and I'd like to keep it that way.
11) If you are inactive for more than two phase cycles, I will automatically look to replacing you. If I cannot find a replacement, I will start selecting random targets for you.
One more thing, and this is HIGHLY important...
Do NOT talk about this game until the entire game has ended. Death does not necessarily mean game over unless your character is removed from the game.

Night 0 – The Beginning of the End
Location-Time Square
The group of heroes and villains stood together in an effort to stop the destruction of their home. Facing the crowd was the ultimate being whose hunger could never be satisfied. Galactus had no worries of surviving this uncoordinated assault. The giant world eater had a smirk on his face and his booming voice roared, “KNEEL BEFORE GALACTUS”. Not one of the heroes or villains took his advice and decided to charge the Almighty Galactus. Some of the crowd was caught with his cosmic rays which turned their bodies to dust. Others were smashed by the mighty purple fists.
While fighting the small ant-like beings, Galactus failed to notice his biggest threat of all. Beams pierced Galactus’s impervious armor and he now was filled with more holes than swiss cheese. Even Galactus could not recover from this fatal attack. A hand wrapped around Galactus’s throat and squeezed as hard as it could. Galactus fell to the ground and was no more.
Deathstroke1134 has been killed. He was Galactus
Now the remaining heroes and villains noticed an even greater threat than Galactus. Will the heroes and villains be able to save their world from an even greater threat than Galactus? Will the world be corrupted by this new evil and be destroyed?

Yeah. I figured if I want to have any chance of living this game, I'd get that out in the open now. Nothing like a midgame copping to reveal how dark my power is.

Why do I keep thinking millers aren't supposed to reveal they are millers?
It didn't say not to. I went over what the power meant with Deathstroke when I got my role.
I assume there's two theories. Hope it never comes up, or reveal yourself and hope people believe you.

I'm not sure why I'm town faction, but I am.
My only other guess at a mafia would be something Bison related personally.

Fair point, but Dormammu, Wesker and Akuma are and that wouldn't be a bad Mafia or secondary Mafia for a game this size.

Akuma would make a good mafia suspect and being town sounds far fetched...if not mafia I would peg him neutral at best...Other mafia members could be Dr. Doom and the Sentinel based on his ending

I could see the Doom/Wesker/Skrull/etc. alliance as a Mafia and they had been my initial thought.
Sentinel could work as an SK, as could, well, Akuma (esp. if he's, say, Power Cosmic Akuma).

Claiming Day 1, without pressure is so tacky. Even in your situation, it shouldn't be done.

Honestly the one shot kill makes you come off even scummier, that mixed with the Miller you could very easily be mafia and trying to hide in the open

I started doing these 2 weeks ago. I didn't even know miller was a role. I'm glad you guys think enough of me to plot so well, I guess.
He's claimed. I say we leave him be for now. If we find an actual mafia member tonight, we can have zyxba prove himself by killing the player tomorrow.

I don't know Rokk, it's a trick that would work only once. After that it would never work again. If Zyxba wants to use it by gratuitously claiming with no pressure on D1 (which I agree is tacky, but he's new so I can understand the mistake), then I guess he pulls one over on me. I'm not sold he's scum.

This is his 2nd or 3rd game, he's not up to speed on the etiquette yet and how unfair it is to the mafia for everyone to claim early.

The heroes and villains began to communicate and saw who they could really trust. Not many people spoke that day, but the ones who did started to show the leadership needed to win the battle. Only time can tell what will happen, yet for now there was a feeling of peace.

The small hunter went about his business as usual. He did not think his life was in danger and he decided to stay out of everyone’s way. Though fighting was inevitable he just wanted to lay low and observe the night.

Hours went by in the night and the hunter was perched on the rooftop. He noticed something small flying in the distance. There was a smirk on his face as the target approached him. While he was laughing inside, he noticed the target getting closer. As the object flew closer, it grew bigger and bigger. Finally, overhead was an extremely large robot. The Robot scanned the small hunter and in a monotone voice, shouted, “INCORRECT TARGET, RETURNING TO BASE FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS”.
The robot began to fly away when he noticed white haired man across the roofs. Like before the robot scanned his new found target. This time he picked up another reading. “EXPENDABLE TARGET SCANNED”. The robot rushed to destroy his enemy. Before the robot could make contact, the white haired man felt a chill. He noticed his legs start to freeze. The cold started to slowly creep up his legs. He quickly pulled out his sword and created a fire barrier around him. The white haired man reached into his holster and drew two silver guns. He then screamed, “Yahooooooo”. Bullets flew out of his guns at an uncontrollable rate. The robot was offline in less than a second. There was no way this robot could survive the barrage of bullets, yet this did not stop shooter. The robot now was scattered on the rooftop. There was no chance of putting it back together.
The man who destroyed the robot twirled his guns and slid them into his holster. He was feeling like he could take on the world. He then proceeded to walk down the stairs and leave the building. While walking down the flight of stairs, he felt someone grab his neck. Before he could react, the attacker twisted his hands to the right, causing a snap to be heard. Now the man was drooling and twitching on the floor. The attacker smashed his knee into the man’s spine. He knew at this point nothing could of survived. But just to be sure, he took out his silenced handgun and shot into the body. After holstering the weapon, he slipped away into the night.

A bulky man unlocked a door. He crept in looking for the clues he needed. After a few minutes of searching, he left.

The small man put on his hat and walked out into the street. He tiptoed on the road and dug inside of his toolbox. Now he found a wrench and smacked a random pedestrian. The pedestrian rolled over and screamed, “What did you do that for???? I am not even in this game!!!” The attacker helped the pedestrian up and apologized profusely. The attacker ran away not to be seen for the rest of the night.

Yeah. I think a combination serial killer/bounty hunter can be fun.
Serial killers are traditionally the hardest to win with. Bounty hunters are either the easiest or the second easiest. I think it's a good for player balance and it can be used to shift the advantage to the mafia's side if most of the bounties are town or vice versa if you think your game is just a little unfair.

Who was our predicted mafia list?
Going theory is the 'Cabal' members. Doom, Wesker, Taskmaster, et al. Not sold on it, but it's better than nothing. It's part of the reason that 'Akuma' was of such interest last day phase.

Assuming this is true it could help possibly clear zyxba somewhat. The way this game's going it looks like the mafia's going to have a easy game unless we have more discussion that being said Vote H&C as he is yet to post

Yes, they are and so is Taskmaster and Tron Bonne started off bad as well.
I didn't even know Hsien-Ko was in the game..one more reason to get it. :laugh:

Usually they can't, but it varies from person to person. Some mods make it very clear who is silenced because votes for them don't count. Some mods tell you the lynch can't happen only after majority is reached. Some mods let you lynched silenced people.
Not sure if DS will tell us which he is, but it would be nice.

Clix had 100s of characters to choose from. It was sheer luck I could even have the Guardians in that game.
Even with there only being, what, 38 characters in this game? A theme might be hard to accurately create.

That's a pretty common thing for most "choose your own character" games... The first Mad Musical Mafia had a Mafia theme of... ummm... bad things, I guess?

I somehow missed the silencing and I barely noticed it with the lack of activity. The vig should still go after inactives IMO, as they can't all be silenced and this games going nowhere

A man in a black trench coat was working in his lab. He was mixing chemicals and running tests. His lab was located in an old warehouse that his employers once owned. The man in the trench coat heard footsteps in the distance. He snarled, “Well Redfield it took you long enough to find me”. No reply was given so he turned around this time and screamed, “Come now Chris you know that I am unstoppable. Why even bother?” Now standing before him was a man he never expected to see. The man standing before him finally replied, “I am not Chris and you should not be worrying about anyone else at this moment but me”. The new challenger tightened his headband. The two stared at each other and no one made a move. Finally the challenger rushed with his knife drawn. The man wearing the trench coat laughed, “You fight just like Chris and that is not something to be proud of.” The challenger was swept off his feet with a kick. His head was slammed on the ground and he blacked out. The man wearing the trench coat took what he could from the lab and decided to leave before more people show up. He grabbed his briefcase and left.

Lot of stuff went on and no kill. So someone that looks like Chris, but isn't Chris Redfield tried to take out Wesker. If it wasn't explicitly stated to be a man, I'd have said it was old school Jill.
Teleporting dress wearer? - If Spiral wore a dress I'd say that was her. Something isn't lining up.
Third scene - goddess is Storm maybe? Evil eyes = Akuma maybe? Lot of options for that one.
Last scene seems like Morrigan looking for sustenance?
Spiral isn't in MVC3 anyway. I'm thinking the Chris look-alike might be Spencer.

Phoenix is closest one I can think of that wears a dress/skirt.
I mentioned Spiral mainly because I had a theory that the mafia might be characters left out from previous games. Thanos w/ Infinity Gauntlet would work really well for the person that took out Galactus in the intro.

Well Wesker is always up to shenanigans but it looks like he survived a nk attempt so he looks townish to me.
The villains of the game are red herring millers while the real mafia is left out characters? That's an interesting concept.

Yeah, a couple of players met what looks like mafia, and no one has shared anything, not even given a bump of direction. We made some headway into what the mafia might be, maybe, but that's about it.

I think Storm found Akuma, but I don't know who got the jump on Storm.
Morrigan certainly does enjoy the sight of men prostrated before her...but I wonder who that was?

The bulky man wandered into the large school. He unlocked one of the doors and entered. He gathered his information and was about to be on his way when he saw a woman floating next to him. His gun was immediantly drawn, but the woman placed her hand over the barrel and said, “There is no need to do that my love because I am not a person you would want to hurt.” She gave him a kiss on the cheek and a wink. After that, she flew out of the school and was not seen again for the rest of the night.
As the bulky man was exiting the school, he felt uneasy. He looked behind him and no one was there. He looked to the sides and still no one was around. The bulky man thought the night was playing tricks on him, yet he could not be more wrong. He failed to look in the one direction that mattered which was up. Suddenly he was crushed and could not move. Whatever had him pinned was not about to let go. The attacker picked him up and began to fly away when another challenger approached. This new challenger screamed, “Shockwave!” The bulky man was released from his attackers grasp. The bulky man was starting to obtain his vision back but it was blurry. In the distance he noticed his savior being beaten. Coins were spilling out of his savior as a barrage of punches was landed. The bulky man had no strength to help and blacked out once again.

Later in the night, a woman woke up and noticed her room had been searched. She walked outside to get some air and noticed a fellow mutant was lying on the floor. She ran over and checked for a pulse. He was still breathing but his condition was not the best. She scooped him in her arms and flew back to the school to attempt to find someone who could give him the medical treatment needed. Scared and distraught she flew into the Professor’s room. “Professor X, I need your help it’s…” Before she could finish she noticed that the professor was not acknowledging her cries of help. She placed the mutant on the floor and slowly walked over to the professor. As she walked in front of the wheel chair she saw his throat had been slit. She gasped, “Professor No!” Behind her stood the man wearing the bandanna. “ What did you do!?! You killed the Professor!” She cried in anger, “This crime shall not go unpunished!” Unfortunately she was no match for the man wearing the bandana. Before she could even summon her powers she was shot in the leg. He calmly walked over to her with the barrel still smoking and had the gun aimed at her head. Before he could pull the trigger she muttered, “T'challa I am sorry.” The man wearing the bandana aimed the gun at her head and fired. As the bullet flew out of the gun, a curved beam of energy flew into the room stopping the bullet and breaking the gun. The man wearing the bandana jumped back and as the smoke cleared he saw a shorter man wielding sword standing infront of the crippled mutant. The man wearing the bandana threw grenades at their feet and ran out of the building. The shorter man grabbed both of the injured mutants in one dash and broke through the glass window before the grenade went off. Instead of pursuing the man wearing the bandana, he decided to get his new friends some help.

First we had no traction on fmf94 yesterday. And now we have what amounts to a RB/Cop coming in and we're still not further along in finding out what's up with FMF. I'm just getting a deflecting vibe here. Something just doesn't feel right.
I actually remembered what was up with fmf. He's 15 and grounded.

The night was quickly approaching and no one was doing much. The man with the bandana was preparing for the night to come. He laid all his weapons out and was ready for war. Tonight he would strike the town at full force.

Slowly he advanced towards his target and to his surprise it was a mech armor. He walked close enough to see that there was no one who had been using the mech. It obviously was some type of trick. He spun around to see if anyone was behind him, but saw nothing. To the right of him was a cardboard box. The man knew the box was not there before. As he formulated his thoughts, a man wearing a bandana came out from under and was ready to strike. The man wearing the bandana slashed his chest with a knife. After being cut, the defender leapt back and was not ready to die just yet. The defender lifted one leg up and slid towards the attacker. The attacker could do nothing to stop this move. Five fatal strikes and the man wearing the bandana was on the floor. The defender stood there watching the man wearing the bandana try to crawl away. The defender snarled, “Grovel at my feet!” The defender shot a beam of energy into the man lying on the floor. After the beam of energy was no more, a hole appeared in the man lying on the floor. The defender walked away and watched the sun set. He knew that tonight would have less death without the murderer.

The bulky man wondered in the forest searching for something. He noticed a small village in the distance. As he approached, he noticed a man wearing a bandana. Slowly, he advanced closer and closer to see this man. His gun was now in his hand and he was ready to open fire. In a split second, the man wearing the bandana rushed towards him and kicked the gun out of his hand. The man wearing the bandana was kneeling on the chest of the bulky man and was ready to strike, yet he stood up and offered to help the bulky man off the ground. They both were now standing and began to talk. They found more in common than they thought before.

Instead of helping she decided to watch the events unfold. The man who was waiting for the sunrise was slammed to the ground by metal. It started to encase him to the point of suffocation. He started to panic when he was fully encased by the metal because he might not survive. While encased in the metal, he heard his attacker scream in agony. Then the metal case around him was cut open by a whip. His savior was not what he expected, but he could not complain at the time.
The girl who watched started to fly over to the two new friends. On her way over, she felt something big grab her leg. She screamed in agony as she was drug off the roof. By the time the two new friends noticed the scream, it was too late. All that remained now was her fingernail scrapes on the roof.

The man and woman who sat next to this man also sprung from their seats. The cowboy was encased in an ice prism and could not move. The man took out his wrench and broke the ice prism. Now the cowboy was on the floor unconscious. The man with the wrench reached inside of the cowboy’s pockets and took and the spare change he had. The man and woman left the bar and were not seen again for the rest of the night.

No, I gohadokened solid snake into oblivion.
Does the lack of deaths each night confuse anyone? It almost appears as though someone died in the write-up, but there isn't a dead player. Role-blockers are either really effective or something bizarre is going on.

the mafia could be messing with us.
maybe the silenced players are all gonna die one night phase suddenly as some sort of special power the mafia may have.
just speculation.....though it does sound like a cool power that i may use in a future game.

I'm starting from the bottom up. There is no excuse for this type of inactivity.
I know you guys say that fmf is grounded. But geez he has 2 posts in 5 phases.
H&C, carltmc,michiganj24 and Kedryn have 3. Magnito, Project:J-ko, Quebbster and vlad3theimpaler have 4.
Pick one and let's at least try to act like we're playing the game.

Not as sure of this as yesterday but some character research leaves me to believe that he may be scum, for the same reason as yesterday, but it's more of a reason than we have for H&C.

What info is there to give? Yesterday I outed JoH based on the fact that I targeted him with my RB that only works on no-townies and I showed up in the write up stopping a kill. Last night the same happened, but the fact that it was me wasn't as obvious. That's all I got. If you don't want to side with me then don't, just keep in mind that I outed the only scum that's been killed

The man sat alone at the bar. He intended to drink himself to death, but he knew that was impossible. On the TV he saw the news reporting the death of Charles Xavier. He immediately grabbed his cowboy hat on the bar counter and was about to stand up when he noticed two oddly dressed people now occupying the empty adjacent seats. He decided to sit back down slowly and order another drink. He knew this was not going end well. After he sniffed around, he did the one thing he knew best. He popped his claws. The man and woman who sat next to this man also sprung from their seats. The cowboy was encased in an ice prism and could not move. The man took out his wrench and broke the ice prism. Now the cowboy was on the floor unconscious. The man with the wrench reached inside of the cowboy’s pockets and took and the spare change he had. The man and woman left the bar and were not seen again for the rest of the night.

I already posted it before you asked for more info, I said that I voted for him on the same reasoning as yesterday. And I didn't vote for him at first because I don't know my character at all, I didn't realize that I was potentially in the write up again I researched my character a little bit more. Regardless I have more to go on than anyone else that's came forward

No, I'm not. Reread the post I just made, I said I didn't realize it was me in the write up today at first until I did a bit more research into my character. I voted for H&C because he seemed the most scummy, then I realized I possibly blocked another mafia hit and I changed vote.

Since we have SSB in the game I assume thats Mario/Luigi as Plumbers use wrenches..and in game its all about the coins

Yeah but Magneto was in Marvel Vs Capcom.....
And they alignment for the one we got was specfically SSB...not Other Fighting Game people
