This just came up in a game with Batman1983. He INC Deathbird by rolling double 5's. It pushed Deathbird.
I said I don't think she would get knocked back, since it is not an attack that takes damage, but an after effect. Is this right?

Right. The attack itself did not do damage, and so there is a knockback value of 0.

However, there WOULD be knockback if a crit was rolled, or if the SHIELD ability was used.
If you roll doubles and damage is dealt than you would recieve knockback. However on an incap attack I think you would only recieve knockback if you rolled a crit. hit because the incap damage is pushing damage technically.

Shouldn't be. Pushing damage onyl occurs when you get your second token, and the SHIELD ability has nothing to do with tokens. Incapactitate says to reduce damage to 0, then you add the 1 from SHIELD. So you attack now reads: "Reduce this character's damage to 1 ...."
For instance .... if a character has Invulnerability and 1 token, and gets hit with a SHIELD-supported Incapacitate, they will take 1 damage for pushing. The SHIELD damage is added to the actual attack, and then reduced by Invulnerability. If a character with Willpower is hit by the same attack, thety will also take 1 damage, but this time from the SHIELD attack.
Hopefully this is all accurate - this is how we've been playing in my area.
