A brief history of the Pineapple...
From time to time, spoiler lists pop up on these and other boards, spoilers about what figures might be in the next set. Before Clobberin Time came out, a playtester, who is legally bound not to reveal their privledged information, leaked the complete list of figs. Someone here canned it, which ironically made everyone believe it was legit. (Ironically, whoever canned it had no way of knowing if it was legit or not, they just knew it didn't belong here.) The unauthorized release of the list caused quite an uproar at WizKids, as it threatened their license with Marvel, and therefore they came down hard on their playtesters. Meanwhile, back here on this site, discussion about "the list" was thought to be forbidden, so it came to be known as "the pineapple" as a sort of code word. As it turned out, "the pineapple" actually was the list of the CT set. As for "the mango", or Cosmic Justice list, you'll notice it resides in the Rumor Mill forum, where such things belong, as they are rumors and nothing more until the set is released.

uh... as a joke... I suggested that... to protect everyone's interests.... that no one say the word list anymore.
I said that list should be replaced with Pineapple.
And much like "Where's the beef?", "Whatssuup!" and "I've fallen and I cannot get up"
It stuck so fast and now is almost impossible to banish.
But I promise you there are plans to remove the peril from our domain.
Meaning, I'm now trying to get people to stop with the fruit code words.....well all code words altogether.
Maybe I should've done marketing..... I heard they make BOO-KOO bucks.

I'm more curious what's your oppostion to calling it a pineapple, Tsannik. This is the 3rd or 4th time I've seen you post "no pineapples, only lists" or some such.

Yeah... that's why I cited:

Because they used to be cool and funny until they were way overused..... which is what is happening with any of the code words.
It's not just funny anymore and should be kept 'classic' by stopping it's use altogether.
