I'm not blown away by any of them and they certainly aren't as usable outside of this set as say WoS or GSX LEs but they all work well within the set. Very cost efficient figures if nothing else.

Saw Gabe Jones in action yesterday. He is worth EVERY point. Think about this:
How many times do you actually use an AV bump special? 4 times a game, 5, maybe one or two more?
Gabe Jones movement bump is used almost that many times in the first turn! Not to mention he gives the Running Shot figures on your team an extra bump to their swing. Combine that with SHIELD TA characters and you can concievably increase a figures "range" by 4 when using Running Shot. (3 Range with SHIELD TA, 1 movement with Gabe)
Not to be denied.
I won't be shocked to see Bob on a Metron team or two come tournament times. It gives Metron potential untargetable cover, an extra PC against incoming attacks, and leaves enough room for a secondary attacker or another support piece.
Think BOBTRON!
Metron 195
Bob 33
Lyssa Drak 72

This would be worse on offense than THingtron, but probably better overall against ZoomTron as it gets the TK and extra support powers.

Everyone serves a nice niche for their respective teams. They're all not "essential characters" to any force, but are nice to have. Which is what makes a good LE in my opinion: A piece that represents a specific era or story of a character that's nice to have, but not one that makes or breaks a team. An LE like Cable from GSX should have been in the main set and earier to obtain for people. An LE for him should have been the same sculpt but named "Stryfe" to represent all the times Stryfe has impersonated Cable. That would have fit what an LE is to me.
Anyway, back to the Cap pieces.
1) Red Guardian. I love him. He's not a monster or game breaker or anything, but he's got a consistant dial that can go toe to toe with a tentpole for a few rounds and dish out some damage while doing it. That's all you can ask for in a secondary attacker (which he is a bit pricey for). He won't be an asset in 300 point games, but I look forward to running him in a 500 point golden age team with the rest of the Soviet Super-Soldiers as a nice upgrade from the regular set one. Why golden age? So we can fill out some of the remaining points with feats (they only come out to 436). Slap the Skullduggery feat on him and watch your opponents frustation as Guardian exploits his tentpole AND potientally deals an extra action token to him/her.
2) Bob: He makes a great sidekick, especially to Baron Von Strucker. He brings some much needed non-theme team prob to a Hydra team. He won't be bringing the hurt by any streach, but he'll be bringing some great support to a Hydra swarm squad.
3) Gabe Jones: He's not the void of points that Dugan from SI is and he fills pretty much the same roll which is excellent. His SP will suprise unattentive players when Gabe let's his SHIELD buddies running shot or charge for an extra square when they thought they were just out of range of either and end up getting the business end of a blades from GSX Wolverine or a running shot from HoT Cap. It also allows your SHIELD swarm pieces to get into position faster. And of course, his combat stats, the SHIELD TA and late dial outwit are always welcome :)
4) Madam Hydra: She's an excellent "Strucker-lite". Much more of a support piece then the general/secondary attacker that the regular set Viper is. That +2 perplex will be NASTY on any Hydra team above 300 points (and for teams 300 points too ... you can just fit bigger targets on +300 point teams, taking the heat off of the good Madam).
All in all, decent LE's. And I won't have to play 500 points of Mindless One's just to win one like I had to last tournament season (again, another reason why LE's of popular characters that are otherwise not in the set, duo figure aside, is a bad idea ... I almost made a dude cry by killing Phoenix in 2 turns with the Mindless Ones. I don't want that guilt again.)

I like them all! None of them are game-breaking, but all of them are either solid utility pieces or solid secondary attackers. I'll be trying to collect all of them, for sure!

Or just use the one from the main set along with this one, both are 2 different people who had the costume at different times. 436+47=483. Perfectly serviceable

At last we have Bob! I can stop fan-boy complaining for a couple of weeks. Actually this set has produced alot of obscure fan favorites.

Why must new sets come out when I'm the most broke? This is like GSX all over again where it'll take a couple weeks before I even have a chance to afford to buy anything and by then it'll all be gone.
so enjoy the new set everyone let me know how it goes.

Wow, Madame Hydra is great. 12AV w/ BCF, stealth, mastermind for 75pts? Or a 19 DEF when resting? Yes please!
Bob is cool and very accurate
Gabe is ok. Nice that the speed boost is anywhere on the map at all times.
Red Guardian is a nice upgrade, but nothing spectacular. Too bad Black Widow only shares the Spy keyword.

These LEs are pretty good. Bob & Deadpool make a nice pair. Gabe is great for Shield teams. Zombie Dirk is for fun. Madam Hydra is sick for the points, and Red Guardian is good.

Would Rather use Scarlet Spider than Lyssa. Aside from Stealth busting you wouldn't want to use TK to break up Tron and Bob, or Bob and Tron.

First off:
Red Guardian WILL be mine! I"ve been reading Avengers since the beginning and always loved the character. And the cover art of Avengers #43 on the card is one of the all-time greats. Honestly, I really feel the comics of that era were some of the greatest ever. Love those '60's Avengers!
Bob is too cool not to be part of my Hydra team. Bob will be mine as well.
Gabriel Jones was probably my favorite shield character ever, besides Nick and Dum Dum. This le is cool and will be on more than a few shield teams that I field. Gabe is a must for my shield box.
And lastly; Madame Hydra! I love this piece and it WILL be mine! I love the "Psychedelic presence" sp.
Even though it's named for her skills, I'm just going to go ahead and pretend it's a tip of the hat to Jim Steranko's classic artwork! Just love it!
So I guess I'll just have to go out and get them all!
In order of most wanted to least:
#1. Red Guardian! By far My favorite LE of recent sets.
#2. Madame Hydra.
#3. Gabe.
#4. Bob. Funny as hell, and could be fun to play, but those ol' time 60's pieces are still cooler to me.

As far as the character goes, color me "meh". But you know what I do like - this makes for a pretty decent Captain America.
Range as a secondary attack, I like his in your faceness with the EW plus charge.
Damage reducers give way to Combat Reflexes and then he gains a combo I like: CCE and Incap. Stuck at range, flip the shield and stun someone. In close? Smack the crap out of someone.
Team him up with the Widow and he's got a dial full of 10's and 11's potentially. I'll give him a whirl and if he plays like I imagine I'll swap the sculpt and get me the single-base Captain America I've been hoping for since Ultimates.
