Questions for the Moderators/Site Owners based on recent "Board Censorship"

Ok, I'm going to try to not come off snippy here, I really am. But I have several questions based on things that are going on lately, and I hope they can be discussed.

I am posting this HERE, as opposed to the Feedback forum, because THIS is where the traffic is. This is the most active board on this site. I'd like people to be able to see this thread and participate on it, as opposed to it being shunted off somewhere where it won't be seen...

Which is what has been happening to a lot of threads lately. I understand that you're trying to "focus the boards" but a very popular tournament thread has been moved from this board for the second time in a week. Does it take up THAT much space? Is it THAT off-topic?

I ask in part for myself too. I've been working on a sequel to my last tournament, a thread which was very popular here. It got over 7,000 views and 400 posts. There's no doubt in my mind that it wouldn't get half of that pariticpation down in the other forum. I've been working VERY hard on it, and trying to put together a prize package, but if threads like that aren't welcome here, I have to admit, my interest is in danger of waning.

I can't imagine why they wouldn't be. Tourney threads encourage people to follow along and return frequently, something I would have to assume the site owners would WANT.

The topic of "Another Realm" is anything NOT related to Heroclix. I don't see how tourney threads apply. Sure, they're not "pure" marvel, but the members of this site OBVIOUSLY like them. I'd like to know why they need to get sent to Siberia.

Why not make a new forum for them? Play by post doesn't seem appropriate, especially as messages will be allowed to linger only two days.

On the topic of thread moving, there were a coupld of War discussion threads in Another Realm which appear to no longer be around. Have these been, god forbid, censored??? Forgive me if theyve been moved somewhere I haven't thought to look, or if they're still there and I can't see them, but please tell me they haven't been removed. LOL, that would make the topic of Another Realm be "An area for Community Members to discuss everything not related to HeroClix - except for anything truly important or controversial".

I fully expect this thread will be "yanked" from this board before long boys and girls, so if you have something to add do it now.

Hopefully, we can get some answers or results, I would hate to lose ANY degree of faith in my favorite site.

Why do some people feel it's there right to post stuff anywhere they want despite the fact there are certain forums to post certain things?
It's the admins have the right to do what they want. It's their board and their rules. You don't like it, leave.....

This is for discussion of Marvel HC, not for tournaments. So if you are posting a tournament thread, use the appropriate forum. Pretty simple.

This is the best spot for them on the board and they've got Marvel HC in them so I dont see what the big deal is

Shin-Goji, there IS no appropriate place for posting those threads. Another Realm is supposed to be for things unrelated to heroclix, not things "About heroclix, but no so dead-on-topic".

If they had, or would make a dedicated board for them, that would be cool too.

But they don't, so I don't understand what the big deal is about them staying here.

I gotta agree with Fogs on this one. The preferable option would be a tourney forum, but since there isn't ... This is the correct place for them. At the very least I feel there should be an administrator thread where the celestials post what threads they have moved, and more importantly, WHY.

Well, again, the fit isn't quite perfect ("Play by post" is for players to play and look for online matches), and that seems to be the only crime keeping it from THIS board, so why not leave it where the largest number of people regularly visit, in order to encourage participation?

It also says they'll delete posts after two days, which is definitely not workable for tourney threads.

As added support of that board not being appropriate, note that the mods didn't move the thread to that board, but rather to Another Realm.



Just as a side note, is anyone even vaguely bothered that they pulled the war threads from Another Realm (Granted, THIS issue IS purely off topic on THIS board).

Which would beg the question: why didn't the moderators move it there?

If the Play by Post forum was the spot, it seems the moderators would have moved it there. However, they moved it to a forum which is specifically NOT about HeroClix. It seems silly to me that a Tournament that deals exclusively with HeroClix would be moved to that venue.

And as a note of support, I learned as much about how to play certain figures from Fogs tournament thread as I ever did from any of the other posts on this forum.

It would be nice if the moderators would at least explain to those of us who enjoyed following the tournament threads the rationale for moving them where they did.

Well, unless it is an exclusive Marvel tourney, it doesn't belong in this forum. Just because this is the most popular is not valid enough to put it here. Hence, they probably moved it to Another Realm.

Personally, I'd be very happy to never see another tournament thread in this forum again. When several people are posting them concurrently, they really clutter up the board. I understand that the Another Realm section isn't really appropriate, and a new forum should be made for them. But I'm glad they won't be here anymore. If we could just get all "Character Creation" threads moved too, it would make this forum much easier to navigate.

Ok... I personally don't care where YOU believe a thread belongs. The fact is that this thread belongs here. End of story. As for this "popular thread"... I bet I could look at the thread and see that you probably 'bumped' the thread to keep it going. Overall, despite how popular the thread is.. it truly doesn't add anything to this community. I'm sorry if this isn't waht you want, but that's how it is, and that's not going to change.
