How to get rep points? [Archive]

i am in no way trying to milk rep points, but i was wondering how you get them or when they awarded or given. and why do i have so many? just have been curious for a while

You have however many someone was able to give you when they repped you. If you click on your usercp you should be able to see messages the person who repped you left.

Just by clicking on the green rep button at the top of each post. The hows and whys vary greatly. Mostly it's just for the fun of it. Just a way to let someone know that you liked what they said.

Near the top of the screen there is a gray bar. On the far left side it says usercp. Click on that and it will take you to a page with your subscribed threads. At the bottom of that page it should have the messages people left when they repped you.

Click on the "User CP" in the tool bar up there, beneath the HCREALMS! logo. Then just look at the middle of the screen, maybe needing to scroll down to see Latest Reputation Received and you'll see the messages people leave you and you can click on it to see what post it was.

Just pickin' on you man. When you hit your 50th post, you will get a rep amount that you can give people when you rep them. Now get to posting a few more times and then go rep the heck outta people!!! ;)

I always wondered how the amount was tabulated. I thought it was how much you gave out rep + the amount of rep you wee given. I didn't know it was based on posts.

Rep is a fictitious point total representing the total number of times people have "liked" what you said. Much like (no pun intended) when people "like" facebook posts.

Its fairly arbitrary if you ask me.

Just a way to boost your ego I suppose. It's lots more fun to just troll the idiots. Lots.
