after looking through the character list from the new x-plosion set, i was amazed to see so many figures that are repeats. with so many cool marvel heros and villans, do we really need another electra, another hulk, another spider-man, and, for the love of pete, do we really need ANOTHER WOLVERINE?? now, i know what you're saying. "these people are really popular, they're in movies." that's all well and good, but if so many people want those figures, why don't they just buy the older sets. i don't know, maybe i'm just bitter because i've been let down by another set that's excluded a deadpool/agent x figure. i'm sure i'm not the only one, though. anyone else?

Simple, Wizkids puts the most popular characters into each set to draw the collectors in and to have a recognizable character as a advertising point.

And it allows them to save other characters for later sets so they actually have good characters left for the other sets.

I'm still wondering why there was a Mojo and Spiral in Clobberin Time, but no LONGSHOT!

But I think Wizkids has a deal (contract) that with every expansion there must be a hulk, wolverine, spiderman, daredevil and elektra. Simply to attract the masses that don't read comics, just fry their retinas with television (or computer monitors in our case :P)

so basically, i have to sit through a plethora of x-men/spider-man sets before i get to see some thunderbolts or a cable figure.

Im tempted to make a longshot myself... as well as Gladiator (NOT the movie, the leader of the Shi`al Imperial Guard)

But yes, we must succumb to wizkids sick and twisted sadistic expansions.

Not that it matters, we'll still buy them.

Yes, basically you will. And it may be that you never see a Cable, which personally I wouldn't mind at all.

THis is just a rumor, and has never been confirmed by any reliable sources.

yeah, well maybe cable wasn't such a good choice to make a point, but i'm sure someone want's to see him made. i think he still has a comic out. oh well, i guess it wont be long before they run out of wolverine designs, and they have to use that silly looking "ferral" wolverine from when magneto pulled the adamantium from his bones.

Deadpool and Cable are legally owned by "artist" known as Rob Liefeld. Marvel basically lost the sole-rites to the characters. The likely hood of seeing one is slim to none. As the "renamed" characters, they could be done but it wouldn't be the same to me. Soldier -X and Agent-X is not the same as Cable and Deadpool.

As for popular reuse of characters- that is marketing. Iron man finally makes it in X-plosion. This is good but with all of the armor types he couldn't easily have been in the first set with a unique in each of the next 6 or 7 sets.

Wolverine, Spider-man and Hulk will be in each set. Daredevil and Elektra will (I guess) depend on the movie's final popularity.

Your complaint in repeat characters is mostly dealing with figures that are uniques. Calm down, many of the REV's are new.
