http://dl.dropbox.com/u/80851/HCRealms.com/2010/GenCon/sm010.jpgGenCon Day 3 is pretty much THE day to be here. While Thursday and Friday has a decent crowd throughout, Saturday is when the natives come out and play ... and they showed up by the bus load it seems! But enough of that ... today HCRealms is pleased to give you an 'Realms Exclusive of Supermen: Supergirl (#010)!
Supergirl is another "double figure" units, with both a 200 and 100 point version. The base shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone; she has flying ... and a single 8 range. But it's what's inside that count!
Supergirl starts out with 11 (Hypersonic), 11 (Superstrength), 18 (Impervious), and 4 damage ... getting Range Combat Expert on her 2nd click. She's a solid figure with assorted abilities throughout her dial (no Special Powers or Traits). Just an ol'school beater. Check out the Units Section (http://www.hcrealms.com/index.php?page=units) for the rest of the dial!

Nice figure and playable at both point levels. I'm curious about the Incap but I won't complain!

We don't know them. They didn't bring of the of the cards; which is why we got a figure without traits or powers. :)

I love the pushability on this Supergirl, landing on still yet useful clicks after pushes! Loving that she's a common, her and the rookie level of Superman makes for 250 point...throw in a 50 point Kryptonian (hoping there's one) and we'll have theme! Pretty sure she's got Kryptonian and Metropolis, at least.

wow this blows Power Girl form BnB out of the water! thou i want to say I'd only play her 200 point dial, her 100 point is just to tempting for a solid team build.

Awesome dial. But i still want a 200 point Superman... and a 50 points Krypto!
By the way, no Magog (DSM) in the Units Section?

She looks like a very good value at either 200 or 100. I am really liking it when they divide up the point values like this.

Could not agree more... they can make this (as a COMMON) for 200 points, and this would spank the 199-pt PG...

I reckon' I'll have to pop a PG off her base and put her on this one to tide me over until DC resets the universe back to normal and they can make me a new Power Girl (of course, this will be a few years away, but I can wait).

Thanks for reading!

She is vicious. I have yet to see a figure in this set and disappoint me. Seriously both point values are nice

The dial looks great, but the sculpt is underwhelming. Overall, I'm happy. If I don't like the sculpt when I see it in person I can always stick an Origins sculpt on it.

Very playable figure at both levels. I usually would go for the lower point versions but the 200 pt version is really good.

The 100 pt version is 6 clicks long. The 17 Invulnerability will be a huge target. How do you think she compares to Young Superman's 100 pt dial

Dial length: Young Supes has a 7 click dial
Defense: Young Supes has 2 clicks of 18 Inv
Team Ability: Supergirl
attack: Supergirl opens with an 11
Damage: push. Supes has more 4's and 3's but Supergirl has some EW and RCE

Movement: RS for Supergirl and CHarge for Supes to open. I've always liked Supes ability to charge in from 6 squares and deal 6 damage with a heavy object

Likely she'll be a Kryptonian and Teen. She might be Teen Titans, Legion of Superheroes, and Justice League of America, too. She can definitely work as the "commanding officer" of a couple of Kryptonian grunts or spies, that's for sure.

Well, I've seen enough to know this will be the first set since Crisis that I bought a full case of. With the option of starting at 100 pts, I'll put her with the pieces I bring to every event since she could fit on a lot of teams and be very productive.

I really like these multi-point value dials. More choices, but less figures to store. The Incap must be freeze breath.

KidSinestro
08/06/2011, 15:02
I didn't see Silver Banshee's dial in the units section either.

Supergirl is gonna be a great team filler at those point costs. I like the dual point cost clix. Much easier to put together teams and much less to carry around. It's a win/win.

I'm really digging these multiple point costs on one figure [that's not a Colossal]. It makes certain figures extremely more playable depending on the situation. Honestly, I think the 200pts. Supergirl is a solid investment. But I think the 100 pts. version is far more playable for her cost, and is a lot more flexible in most teams.

Why isn't Magog's dial listed in the units section?

Why the #### am I not listed in the units section?!?

Uh, what they said.

All in all, I am really digging the multiple point values. This is so much more sensible than the AE mechanic. I really appreciate the flexibility.

There might be one in this set, she IS a Kryptonian, afterall. That said, i am going to do thesame thing, but with the old PG sculpt.

I compared PG and Supergirl just now on their dials alone; first hit and impervious rolls are really going to play into who wins that fight. Although Supergirl's higher attack numbers and upfront HSS probably pushes her over the top. Although I find it extremely hilarious that PG can use her "special" exploit weakness on Supergirl! SO WRONG!

Oh, and PG + 100pt Supergirl sounds like a fun team!

Since she's #010 that'd make her a common, very nice! I'm way more excited for the commons so far than anything else...crazy! At least I'll be able to get the ones I want easier :) Superman and Supergirl as commons is awesome. Sealed games will be epic!

That incapacitate is driving me nuts! It's such a waste of point on such an expensive figure, with high damage, and only a single target. Take those two clicks of incap away, and her defense score could be higher at the end. While I can appreciate charge and rce on the same click, Hypersonic and RCE? Really? C'mon Wizkids!!

I still like the rest of the dial and will play her at both values, but it's just shy of perfect. Stupid freeze-breath...

who ever said that old school can't compete with the new stuff is wrong. You don't need trait's or white powers to compete now days. Tomorrow I'm playing 500pts of a Cap team:
The Captain 170
U.S. Agent 75
Jack Flag 64
Nomad 63
Captain America 49
Red Guardian 47
Bucky 30
Nothing special at all, just simple. So while your opponent is keeping track of all he has in options, you stay more focused in your plan of attack.:a-duo:

Awesome dial. But i still want a 200 point Superman... and a 50 points Krypto!
By the way, no Magog (DSM) in the Units Section?
My 200 point Man of Steel has more than sufficed all these years.
So now I'm thinking MoS, Supergirl, and Krypto in a 400 point build...

Yay Supergirl. Strong and accurate.

Now please let there be a Darkseid's Fury evil Supergril variant, in the memorable orange and black design?

Oh and a Stephanie Batgirl :)

I agree. I like the dial a lot but that sculpt needs an overhaul.

As a side note, your point about replacing the sculpt with the origins sculpt makes sense. But I can't help noticing more and more of the new figs seem to be getting that very treatment by clixers.

Well, it is better than the Crisis sculpt...
But you are correct - I just finished swapping both a DC75 and a Crisis Kid Flash sculpt with the old (and far superior) Legacy sculpt. I'm mulling over how to make the new Black Adam sculpt interchangeable with the old awesome Crisis SR, and I've put a flight stand on the DC75 Supes to accomodate the Man of Steel sculpt.
The WoS Iron Man got replaced with a Handful of Heroes version, and I'm looking at getting an origin Animal Man to replace the new sculpt. Then there's Bencrawler...
But not all is doom and gloom - most of GSX was excellent; Cyclops, Sabretooth, Storm... all are outstanding, and the colossals look amazing.
The Lantern Leaders from DC75 are very nicely done (except Carol Ferris).
A lot has to do with thick paint - it would be nice to see a return to flesh-coloured plastic on some sculpts to minimize the painting required. Origin Hawkman shows just how well that worked. Now compare that with the Hawkman/Atom final product. Ugh.
On the plus side, the eyes finally look good...

PG and Supergirl actually have exactly the same average printed speed. PG's average printed damage is higher. Supergirl's average printed attack is higher. PG's average printed defense is higher. I like Supergirl's HSS and Charge placement a bit more, as it makes a bit more sense for a superpowered fight; why would PG need charge three clicks in a row? Same for HSS, but 4 in row! Superman has it rotated almost perfectly doesn't he? I think he does at least.

Would Psy blast not be a good way to represent the laser eyes? Incap is still weird to me, especially how it's placed - it breaks up her super strength.

Supergirl's ranged attacks are what put her over the top...or over PG at least.

Just need the right back-up for these lovely ladies and they can really wreak some havoc! From my collection probably Black Cat and The Question.

Zatara55
08/07/2011, 03:49
I think the incap is supposed to represent 'freeze breath'. I wonder why they put it on clixs with running shot. I don't think anyone would use it instead of 4 damage. Maybe on the 3 damage slot if you're going against someone with invul or indomitable.

I'm sure she'll have the Superman TA.

Based on the figure, it looks like she's the 90's Team Luthor Supergirl...For the rest, at either point cost she's good for me : easy to put in a team, easy to play in each version and with the powers fitting nicely the character.

good to see you back, kara.
