Wizkids witholding Uniques from Xplosion?

Now, I'm not sure if this is true or not, but a retailer friend of mine has a suspicion about the first shipments of Heroclix. Here's his theory:

Wizkids purposely puts fewer Uniques per case or a low diversity of Uniques in the first shipment. That way, when people buy the majority of their boosters (right after release) they won't have either a full set to a case or they'll have alot of dupes and have to buy more later on in order to get the figs they want.

I told him he was stupid. Do you think there's any truth in this. As far as marketing is concerned, it would be brilliant.

I think its a bad assumption. I think its totaly random. I have purchased two cases for each of the last 2 releases (DC & MARVEL) and I recieved at least 8 uniques in a case. With
Clobberin' Time I specificaly remember opening my 2 cases and having 19 uniques.

I don't think they should put a lower number of uniques in the cases, but I don't care if they put a low diversity, because I'm not a richie and I can't buy a whole case, so as long as their is the same ratio of Uniques, that is fine, since if somehow you get doubles just by buying packs, it is quite easy to trade uniques at most stores or on HcRealms.

A unopened case has 8 uniques per case. But some companies have had a couple of half cases out. THey merge the 2 cases togethor to make 1 case, seal it, send it. Thats were you start getting more or less uniques.

When CT came out, I hit GameStop, and bought half of the boxes they had. Out of 5 boosters, their were 2 U's, Spiral and Red Skull. With that odds, I just about cleaned them out!

y'see with Clobberin' Time I spent about $100 in the first two days of release and only got a Mr. Fixit. To this day I've never gotten a Doc Ock and never another unique since.

With DC I spent even more in the first few days and only got 1 The Key. A few weeks later I bought 4 boosters and got U Batman, Darkseid, and Superman.

Could just be a fluke in probablity, but you never know. It could be a vast right wing conspiracy!!:confused:

For Clobbering Time I bought a case and got 9 uniques with only one doubled. So I don't think they hold back the unique for later shipments.:p

How many uniques do you guys think that i will see with 10 booster packs of Xplosion?

0 to 10. When buying packs, it's all random luck. By the odds, you should see one or two, but by playing HeroClix, you should know odds only work in theory.
