Help with Animotions

I followed someone's thread to the animotions site, and I don't quite understand; Is it just to view other's artwork, or is there a way for me to create pieces also? There's a lot of great artwork on there, and I want to give it a try. I have no idea how to go about it. Any help would be appreciated!
