My friend says the anybody w/ the infinity gauntlet, I say The living Tribunal.
My argument is that the tribunal once stopped Adam Warlock(w/ Infinity Gauntlet) and Eternity from fighting once.
I'm a ways out of the comic-collecting thing anymore, but I'd have to side with you. The Tribunal, Eternity, Death... those powers transcend a mortal with the Gauntlet.

I never read that comic, but it was my understanding that the Gauntlet was all-powerful. Thanos certainly schooled Death and Eternity in that saga, with it.

Eternity called the Living Tribunal his only peer. Thanos (with the infinity gauntlet) was trying to become the new Eternity. The Living Tribunal was the only other galactic entity that could influence the outcome of the Eternity/Thanos conflict but abstained because he saw the struggle as the natural order of things (survival of the fittest).
So, It seems that these three are equals. If I had to pick one I'd go with the Living Tribunal because he represents more than any multiverse or reality, he represents the ability to be.

I would have to say that the Plot Device is the most powerful cosmic entity in any comic universe.

but the living tribunal wont do anything unless a proper hearing is in place to act. so with his lesser peers beaten in battle he cannot/wont do anything. the tribunal has the most "power" but wont use it, so next up would be eternety while merged with his sister infinity with the exception of the whole gauntlet mess.
then again there is that new egyptian god form marvels "the end" who is supposed to kill the whole marvel universe so maybe its him.

Now you've done it! You've gone and brought up The End! I am soooo disgusted with that project! Some of you may not know this, but the 'End' project actually started last August with Hulk: The End, and it was soooo cooool! The idea was to tell the tale of each of Marvel's star characters, one each month. After The Hulk, Marvel announced that they had a new idea for the series that was even better. Now we get this sorry piece of garbage Marvel: The End. The entire Marvel Universe is about to be wiped out by some guy we've never heard of! How lame is that?

hey i read the firrst issue and its pretty cool. I mean you read comics for long and realize these end of the worlds things come around every year.
but THIS IS JIM STARLIN'S RETURN TO MARVEL! He is such a great writer that i cant judge the series yet by one issue.
Oh and isn't it cool where thanos says the only human he respects and keeps constantly under surveillance is DR. DOOM.
Love that doom

The End isn't all bad, it's just bad compared to the original idea. The original idea was excellent. In Hulk: The End, every last human on earth has been wiped out by nuclear war but one- Bruce Banner/Hulk. He's an old man, wandering the wasteland of Earth. Every once in a while, swarms of mutant cockroach come and attack him. He turns into the Hulk, and gets eaten nearly to death anyway. Since the Hulk can regenerate, he survives. An alien shows up as a representative of the various species of the world. He is there to confirm the death of the human race. The Kree and the Skrull have declared peace in order to celebrate our destruction! The alien leaves behind a robot to record the death of Banner so that there can be no doubt about the end of the humans. If you manage to find a copy, pick it up!
In the current The End, I liked the bit with Spidey and Daredevil checking out the dead bodies of the Avengers and the FF. It was a cool scene. The problem I have with this new version is that it so casually kills our favorite characters. The X-Men, Avengers, and FF never even knew what hit them. There was no battle. One second they're alive, the next they're dead. Nothing. Everyone has to die sooner or later, and these are the sorts of characters who want their deaths to make a difference. I want it to as well. In this story, their deaths are totally without purpose or meaning. They never stood a chance.
aren't the celestials the most perful living comsic characters. they don't speak in front of any lesser beings. No ones heard then speak yet right?

i agree it was quick but if you read J starlin before, he always does cosmic scope stuff. so i suppose the heroes dying was a plot device just to move the story along
I just hope Thanos isnt turned into a good guy
and the hulk end story sounds cool. kinda like the maestro story arc
the beyonder is by far the most powerful cosmic entity in the marvel universe.
The Celestials are a star-faring race of humanoid aliens who possess untold cosmic power. Standing two thousand feet tall, the Celestials are clad in full body armor. No Earth being has ever seen what they look like beneath their armor or knows their origin.
There have only been indications of the full scope of the Celestials' power. Each member of the Fourth Host withstood a full frontal attack by the collective power of the Eternals and the Asgardians. Arishem has been shown to have sufficient power to permanently seal dimensional portals to the godly realms.
If Eternity chose to...could he stop to have reality and make the Living Tribunal non-existant?
No eternity couldn't. Eternity and Infinity together represent this Marvel Universe each parralel Marvel U has it's own Eternity. The Living Tribunal exist apart from the multiverse, there is only one of him he trancends the power of Eternity.
Eternity was defeated and replaced in very quick fashion by Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet, But the living tribunal just showed up and decreed that the gems in This universe would never work together again when A.Warlock and Eternity were throwing down. And celestials are not even close. a combined force of Lord Chaos, Master Order, 2 Celestials, Passion,(i forgot who was opposite of passion) and Galactus were defeated by Thanos just prior to Thanos taking down Death and Eternity

The celestials are not all that all powerful....Thor managed, with all his might, break through a celetials armor and tried to destroy what was inside.
I thought it was pretty clear that Thanos w/ Gauntlet had all the celestials well in hand, though I don't remember if the beyonder was in that group or not. Also He never really fought the gods, he just trapped them so he wasn't really tested against them, but I would have bet on Thanos in a slugfest with Odin etc.
infinity gauntlet isnt an entity so you cant say thanos with the gauntlet. would you say mr fantastic is the most powerfull earth hero becasue f the ultimate nullifier. so rule out the gauntlet. just cause thor broke through dont mean jake. he didnt do much just penetrated the armor, big deal and that was going all out just to break the shell

On the plus side...now we know what would happen to the Marvel U if an angry 5D imp ever decided he got tired of the DCU and came over...

sorry buddy but I don't think you're gonna win with the Celestials....
They were beaten by Thanos w/Infinity Gauntlet..and they weren't even going at it...they were just a distraction (mentioned in the comic) for the BIG boys to get their licks in...Love/Hate, Order/Chaos, Beyonder, Galactus, Chronos...and then Eternity.
So I gotta say that there are more powerful entities...if nothing else Living Tribunal.

Since Thanos is telling the story, it seems as though he may be the only survivor. I predict that in The End, the Marvel Universe will be destroyed, and only Thanos will remain to experience the universe to follow, much as Galen survived the destruction of the universe before Marvel, and became Galactus in the Marvel Universe.
Neat idea Wyldstarr :) I like it...I could picture Thanos as another Galactus.
And yes, I'd have to ring in with the Living Tribunal...I mean, he outrules Eternity...ETERNITY...lol
I think Living Tribunal could even "make a law" that placed the Beyonder in handcuffs...
biggs
It is a confirmed fact that Beyonder is the most powerful entity in the Marvl Universe

I would consider the two "Brothers" from the Marvel vs. DC crossover to be the most powerful in each universe. The Living Tribunal and the Spectre were like fleas to them.

how about Molecule Man?
Manchine

Beyonder/Molecule man. Sorry if the whole universe cosmic beings feared Beyonder. Then this joining is the most powerful being the the universe. To make his power whole. He is the most powerful being in the Universe. When this part in the Comics does happen it will be a large part in comic history.
He literally walked up killed death and then remade him hours later.

The Living Tribunal is the most powerful Cosmic Entity in Marvel. He rules over ALL things in the Marvel Universe.
About Marvel: The End, I like it.

azrael brought up the Marvel/DC. Isn't The Living Tribunal technically a DC character? That would mean that the most powerful character in Marvel is a DC guy...
There's food for thought
SuicycoSlade

No, the Living Tribunal is a Marvel character. In the Marvel Vs. DC crossover, the Living Tribunal (Marvel) and the Spectre (DC) are shown hanging off "The Brothers," to symbolize how truly powerful "The Brothers" are.
Even the Living Tribunal has a boss. The Tribunal refers to him as The One Above All.
