Today we offer a special bonus sneak peek to launch our previews of the upcoming HeroClix release, HALO. We could think of no one better to start off with than Master Chief and Cortana!

Master Chief and Cortana begin the game with a very useful special power, Strategic Positioning; this special power allows Master Chief and Cortana to use both Running Shot and Stealth, meaning not only can they maneuver for that critical shot but if positioned correctly they can also hide from retaliatory ranged attacks! Penetrating/Psychic Blast represents the Master Chief and Cortana’s ability to pinpoint their opponent’s weak points, while Outwit allows them to counter a power or ability of their choice.[...]

Suprised to see Halo previews already, but as I am more excited about Halo than Supes, it is a pleasant surprise nonetheless.
Glad to see this piece is NOT a duo fig, too.

This doesn't look like my Eradicator Preview I've been campaigning for....
Ah, now I have a screen name to attach to all of those sad-looking puppies...You'd probably have had more success with LOLcats or Nyan Cats. ;)
The Eradicator will come in time. :classic:
Master Chief and Green Lantern make a perfect 300 pt team, Running Shot, Stealth, Psychic Blast, Outwit yes please.
Also love his team ability, Basically Shield but they can use both +1 to range and damage

8 clicks of health? i thought MC died pretty quick in those games.
8 clicks means superman would have to outwit MC's defense and get 3 perplexes to damage to kill MC in one hit.
he seems a little too durable. but as far as dials go. he is pretty good.
i was hoping for a darkseid preview and Cap ATA's. if the ATA's aren't coming, they need to at least tell us so.

Great piece! I like it a lot. I think it feels like MC, but... Anyone else notice his figure is backwards on the dial?

If that sculpt (which is an SR) is indicative of the quality, I am really wishing I had kept all my old halo actionclix figures. :\

Son of a... its just not fair... reminds me of Iron Patriot but with Stealth... I really hope that I don't have to get these...
I'm just curious on the wording of "throw a grenade" power.
Give the character a power action, decrease the number of grenades in your grendae pool by 1 (if greater than 0), and choose a type of grenade listed on this card. Choose a target square within 5 squares and line of fire (ignoring characters for line of fire purposes). Make a ranged combat attack targeting all characters occupying or adjacent to the target square. Deal damage to each character based only on the type of grenade chosen.
So, just from reading that, what prevents the character from using the grenade power if the grenade pool is 0?
If you have 0 grenades but use the power, here is how the action would look, literally reading the power:
1) give the power action;
2) dont decrease the grenade pool as it is not greater than 0;
3) choose the grenade type;
4) target the square;
5) range combat attack;
6) deal damage
Obviously the intent is if your pool is 0, you cant throw a grenade, but as written the only restriction is that you dont decrease the grenade pool, not that you cant make the attack...

No more, I'd imagine, than any other HeroClix property's compatibility with ActionClix.
It gives the +1 range to all adjacent friendlies, where I believe the SHIELD is a free action to give it to one adjacent friendly.
That is correct, the two TAs are not the same. :d-indomitable:

Master Chief dropped from space to Earth with just his armor and survived easily. I'd say he's pretty freaking durable. If anything, I would also give him regen for his shields, but I'm sure it'll be on another version of him.
I'm totally pumped for this set. I hope they have enough covenant to make a proper army this time. Don't waste space with those lame Red vs Blue guys. I want Grunts!

true! sculpt shows a lack of trying, dial is awesome though! this is the same pose as hawkman and the atom! it didn't work for them, so why in gods name would they use it for these two? once again, lack of trying i guess! wizkids i'll draw the sculpts for free if u want!

Master Chief is probably better than Iron Patriot at the 150 level, but still not as powerful as Namor at 150.
And I'm sure all of the Halo pieces will be backwards on the dial as an homage to the ActionClix (for some unknown reason).

More likely, the reference to the past indicates something like an Invaders ATA!!!! :)

I am not crazy about the model at all, it looks sloppy, and Cortana is a blue blob. The abilities are alright, but I think there should be at least 1 click of regen in there, and at least 2 grenades.

Now don't misunderstand what I am about to say folks, because I am glad that NECA was able to pickup WizKids and keep HeroClix going, but since they picked them up I haven't been as happy with the sculpts. If this is a WizKids decision, then my apologies to NECA, but either way, a lot of the models use a weaker/more flexible plastic, which isn't as good. His special makes sure you get plenty of grenades. Also note that for Halo, a lot of these sculpts are actually from Actionclix (doesn't explain other sets of course), which brings me to my next point:

A lot of the sculpts in the set are from Halo Actionclix. Because of some of the mechanics in the game, they were designed to be pointing in that direction. I personally like at as so far it seems less likely to cover up the stats hole. Professor X could have been on backwards and no one would be able to complain about not being able to read his dial.

Masterchief looks cool.
There are a lot of good 150pts pieces out there now, and Master Chief is now my go to guy now. I wounder if they got him with a rocket launcher? The card says battle rifle so I'm thinking a meaner Chief is in the set than the one now. Plus I hope they make it were you can bring the old haloclix in to heroclix.

RSIxidor is exactly right. 40 of the 45 pieces in the set are using the old ActionClix sculpts, which were designed to fit on the base a certain way, with the stat window in the back. They did the five new sculpts so that they'd match up with the other 40.
The Master Chief and Arbiter figure seems to be a nod to anyone who might be worried that their stat window, indeed, the entire dial might not get covered by the sculpt.

Unfortunately, at this point, it looks like 36 of 45 figures are known from displays at SDCC and GenCon. And we've already seen 5 new sculpts, so the remaining 9 are likely to be reused sculpts from ActionClix.
Looks like this set is going to be focused on the original Halo trilogy. Maybe if they do a second set ODST and Reach will get some love.

The sculpt is unimpressive to me. It makes me think the sculptor modifed the Hawkman/Atom duo sculpt.
Same thing with the photo showing the Master Chief/Arbitor sculpt. Makes me think of the Iron Man/Warmachine Sculpt.
I collected the original set when it came out and ended up being the only one at my venue who bought it. Turned out to be a dead game to me since no one else was interested in it. Ended up selling the whole set and I dont regret it.
I'll look at the figures, but I think I'll be passing on this set.

They did the Actionclix for this team, but so far they haven't surfaced in pictures of the new set. If they don't show up in the set, I'm hoping they'll do a Fast Forces later on.
I have searched and been unable to find but when is Master Chief and Cortana going to be available?

What a terrible sculpt, did they use blue play-doh to make Cortana? By the way Master Chief is facing backwards, guess he can't stand staring at his own dial.

Once again....
Several of these sculpts are taken from Halo Actionclix, where all the sculpts were positioned this way to free up more space on the dial for gameplay features.
I actually prefer it, so far it provides an easier view of the stats window.

He is saying he thinks the dials will be good for custom modification, such as swapping the sculpt with another one. I suppose the second sentence is stating that if you do this you can still use this piece to destroy your opponents pieces in game. Then he states he would like it if anyone who has extras or ones they don't wish to have, that he would gladly take them. Then he shows gratitude in advance.
