The Darq Side Mafia: Best of DarqFeonix

Rules... stolen from JOH, and modified just a bit...

1) There is a Town. They win by getting rid of the mafia/non-friendly neutrals. Each night, many of them do something (investigate or protect for instance) to try to find the mafia. During the day, they try to vote off the mafia.

2) There is a Mafia, maybe even more than one. They win by getting rid of everybody that isn't in their mafia. Each night, they will remove townies from the game. Each day, they will try to prevent the townies from voting them off.

3) If more than half the players vote for the same player during the day (i.e. Majority), that player is lynched and is removed from the game. You should bold your lynch votes so that I don't miss them or think you are kidding. You can vote for anyone but chances are nothing will happen if you try to lynch someone who isn't playing. You can also vote for a No Lynch, but some mods will remove a random player from the game to ensure that the game doesn't stagnate if no player is voted off. If you feel like leaving a vote with someone, you can say Leave Vote with: Player, but I frown upon it. You cannot "leave with majority".

4) There are unfriendly neutrals that could be trying to kill everybody or recruit their own mafia or maybe something else entirely. They win in odd ways but they hurt the town so the town must eliminate them to win.

5) There are friendly neutrals. They also have strange win conditions but they don't really hurt the town. Sometimes they can win with either the town or the mafia but in general the town doesn't need to get rid of them. Friendly and unfriendly neutrals are hard to tell apart and you'll just have to use your best judgment on whether you want to vote for them or leave them be.

6) Don't do these 3 things: Quote your role pm or the role pm of anybody else, talk about this game outside of this thread even via pm unless you are pming a mason teammate or a mafia teammate, and don't edit your posts. If you do one of these 3 things, you may be modkilled to ensure the game's fairness. I'm a stickler for these. You see how it says 'may'? Assume may = will.

Have fun, y'all. Remember, it's just a game. Tempers may flare, and people may come off like complete a-holes... but they are trying to win, just like you.

Darq Addendum: Just so there's no question of quoting your PM, if for some reason you are roleblocked, jailkept, target jailkept person, someone untargetable, or something similar, you will be informed that "Your action failed".

Darq Addendum II: The Town's win condition is "You win when all threats to the Town are eliminated." The Mafia's win condition is "All threats to the Mafia are eliminated" Neutrals? Who knows. NOTE: I may have copy/pasted some things different from prior games. Just go by this.

Darq Addendum III: I make no promises that alignments are the same. I make no promises roles haven't been tweaked. I make no promises that the number of roles represented from a game will make sense. All I promise is non-participation is frowned upon.

From the beginning of time, the multiverse has been known. Worlds upon worlds, upon worlds, upon worlds, all lying on top of each other... All interconnected through minor gateways; it could be song; it could be a flower; it could be a keyboard. But in every world, there is a constant. Anyway, one brave foreigner dared to venture with his tall robotic companion, and after a long and treacherous journey, they had arrived at the gates. "We made it, Adam. Through dangers I cannot begun to number, we have faced them all... We rocked 'em... We socked 'em... and arrived."

His mute companion turned to him, and only nodded. As the ruggedly handsome man took a step towards the large doors, he suddenly heard a screech from above. Looking up, he couldn't help but chuckle one last laugh as he saw an immense boulder plummeting from the sky. Some people were just destined for suffering.

DarqFeonix is dead! He was Hugh Jackman (Town), for some strange reason, ka's ##### in the Darqiverse

As the sun rose, two dozen beings expelled from the Darq Tower found themselves awakening in a field of roses. Most had no idea what was going on or how they got here. But a handful... A handful had been planning for this.

All of the crowd eventually congregated around the crushed body of the man, and saw the large robot, seemingly hanging his shoulders in despair.

"Awww... He looks like he needs a friend. Any volunteers?"

Nearly everyone raised there hand immediately.

"Hmph. I guess we could... Vote on it?"

Day 1 has begun!

You have 24 hours to decide who gets control of Adam The Robot! What does he do? Who knows! If a majority is not reached, Adam has been programmed to join with the player with the least amount of posts greater than zero, that is not tied with anyone.

Addendum: you cannot vote for yourself, unless you would be the "hammer"

I tried this once before (a nonlynch bonus) nd it didn't get to majority. And I didn't want it to be random and still allow it to have some strategy involved.

We started playoffs last night, going in tied for first against the last place team who couldn't fields full team.

As the new arrivals all got their bearings, they were pleasantly surprised to find personal tents for them all to use. Not full trusting each other, they all spread out far and wide, hoping for an uneventual night. One person in particular looked up at the lifeless eyes of the automaton, and simply said, "You better be worth it. Come on."

You have 24 hours to get actions in. Sooner the better, natch.

Night 1: Praying For A Miracle

Under the shadow of the spiraling Darq Tower cast by the moon above, the new arrivals slept. But as clouds began to fill the night sky, darkness descended even deeper, providing much cover for actions to be taken.

In a far away tent, an ancient magician returned to apparent safety, only to find someone sitting in his tent. They were sitting in a strange position, rocking back and forth, long hair shrouding their face. Cautious, but unafraid, the magician spoke in jovial voice. "Umm, hello. Are you lost? Can I help you?"

Continuing to rock, the intruder rasped out, "They say be afraid."

No longer as jovial, he approached slowly. "Afraid? Who are they?"

Now whining, their voice became a little louder. "A… a different dimension."

"Yes, I know, we're all from different worlds apparently. But we can work together-"

Suddenly he saw the glint of metal reflect off of a nearby lantern. "…Devil? …Angel?"

He couldn’t react, as with blinding speed, the knife impaled in his chest, the eyes of his killer staring into him as his life disappeared.

A young man strode through the open field with purpose, enjoying the night air, breathing in the crispness deeply. As he was about to say something, he saw a beautiful woman ahead. "Hey! Hey!"

She turned around and smiled at him.

"Wow, I thought that was you! What are the odds, right?" The two embraced as old friends, and retired to a nearby tent to catch up.

Nearby, eyes watched intently. If they were happy or disappointed… we'll never know.

One person remained in their tent much longer than the rest, but eventually decided to venture out. As they opened their tent, they immediately came face to face with a madman. "Hi there!"

Before they could react, razor sharp claws ripped into their throat, halting them from screaming out for help. Over the next five minutes, the claws continued to rip and shred, until all that was left was a pile of blood and guts. His attacker left with a smile on his face.

A robot was heard stomping through the night, but when the sun arose, he was motionless in front of his companion's tent.

While having dinner with a friend, I was thinking about this and I found a way it could fit, but it is a reeeeeaaaal stretch. Like, I am trying to make it fit so I am thinking about it too much. I think misdirection in more likely (or Darq really went outside the box on this one.)

I got hung up on the part where Rokk outed Truffle and wasn't sure how. When Truffle later claimed she targeted Rokk, it confused me. I've been in and out all evening because I still haven't adjusted to my schedule at work. I have to get up at 3:30 in the morning so I can make it on time. It's caused me to sleep off and on throughout the evening, and I do tend to get muddled because of it.

Well, granted, I thought it had something to do with the write up and likely something Truffle said that triggered Rokk knowing she targeted him. Course outing Truffle as the RT, puts her way up on the mafia radar. Something that leads me to think that Rokk is not mafia as if he figured it out, he'd just have his mafia mates kill her. I may be metaing a bit much granted.
