I mostly like the Mr. Fixit figure, but his little girly hands had been bothering me lately. I found an E Hulk for $4 at the local store and an Idea was born. I also did a complete re-paint because the color scheme they choose wasn't to my liking (a bit homogenous with blue/black/grey) I choose the suit to be green as a nod to his history, and the rest fell into place. The pushed up sleeve is made from keadadite putty as is the other shirt cuff. (The wrists on fixit are waaaaay too small to attached Hulk's hands.) I also had to continue the detail of the coat (there is none under his folded arms!) and fill in a gap under the sleeved arm where the other arm usually rests. These were also done with putty.

If I had it to do all over again I would have used the the upper arms of fixit and the fore arms of Hulk and had the both sleeves rolled up just past the elbow instead of this pose, although this one is reminicscent of the classic pic of Muhammed Ali standing over Foreman after the knock-out, which was intentional. The idea here is that he just rolled up one sleeve and the other is next, suggesting that it's time to 'get down to bidnezzz .. if you willl'.

Oh man that is too on the money. It's a great piece but I have to tell you, I think the rolling up one sleave actually captures the moment perfectly.

I was a little worried when you said you had changed the color of his suit from blue to green (just didn't seen to fit in my mind's eye). But once I saw the pic I was sold! Awsome work. As an Ali fan, the pose is couldn't be more fitting.

BTW, Bedrock Bully here is a really cool guy... never got the chance to play Clix against him, but we converse on occasion on the Freedom Force forums at Freedom Reborn.

That is one of the best examples of a mod getting closer to comic-reality than the original figs that I have ever seen. Great job :)

Hey, you Mod looks spectacular. Top Notch work. It's almost as cool as the Mod someone in my home town did of Alfred Pennyworth.

Of course, IIRC, Bedrock Bully is one of my compatriots on a figure sculptor's mailing list...

Again, Thank you all. I am looking at Kang now (one of my favorite Characters, but a very unfortunate figure!) and the arms off of Daredevil from IC. I will have to get another Daredevil first and they are hard to come by around here, and I'm not buying any more IC boosters.

FWIW The Fixit mod is really not that difficult. I am on the Mini-sculptors list as Valandar pointed out, but this really didn't take any modeling skill. The sleeve is done by pressing rolls of putty around the Hulk's shoulder and flattening the top. The Cuff is just a flat ribbon with a ball flattened for the cufflink. The space under the arm and the part of the coat are just fill-ins with lines carved in them.

All in all it took maybe 3 hours, from sitting down with the figures and a dremmel, to final finished product.

BTW any clue as to why Whizkidz stopped taking Heroclix submissions for the fan section? I was gonna email them this and see if they wanted to put a pic up on the website, but the have a message saying NO MORE HC SUBMISSIONS!

just seems a little strange..
