I am seeing a trend in x-posts w/ people complaining about Storm, Gambit, Iceman and others. They mostly seem to complain about their point costs and "missing powers"

The Veteran Iceman chimes in at 47 points:
he gets flying- nice
he gets RCE- nice
he gets Barrier- nice
he gets Incapacatate- nice

people complain that they "messed him up" but dont' realize that with more powers (like more incapacatate) would jack up his cost and make him much more difficult to play in a tournament (200-300 point army) enviroment.

The Veteran Storm chimes in at 52 points:
she gets flying- nice
she gets EE - nice
she gets ESD- nice
she gets RCE- nice

again...people complain because the didin't get her "right" missing force blast and smoke cloud, which, while not extremely expensive, would still drive her cost up.

The Veteran Gambit chimes in at 51 points:

he has EE- nice
he has stealth- nice
he has perplex- nice
he has RCE- nice

gambit is perfect the way he is...he can hit 2-3 targets w/ energy explosion (just like in the comics) if he had 2-3 arrows, he would be hitting way too many targets way too many times. That isn't what he does in the comics. Also like in the comics, he gets perplex which is (to me) a byproduct of his "charm" ability, making his opponents less effective.

so my question is...what do you want?
do you want a playable figure that will nicely fill a hole in a team? or do you want a 70-125 point figure that you will be hard pressed to fit into a tournament team...

Also...being a longtime X-fan who knows abit about their characters, ablities, and history, they got all the X-people right in this set. Remember, it isnt' always what they are capable of...but what they actually do

70-125, definately.

oh, come on, not giving storm smoke cloud is like not giving scarlet witch pb.

besides, storm of all people is the one that should cost 100+ points

I think that the R/E/V s should satisfy a different price for a diffrent degree of power. Want a cheap fig to put on a tourney team? Use the R or E. The V versions can easily be made the most powerful, and expensive for the sake of the fans, even if it goes beyond the playable level for tournaments.

Remember, not everyone goes to tournies.

The problem is that the way WK is currently set up, the V version is the least common. Since WK wants to make more money, they (probably) try to make the rarest figures the most powerful, R Vulture nore withstanding.

Again, X-Men are supposed to be cheap figures so you can field a bunch of them at a time and still be able to effectively use their team ability.

I more or less agree with what Hulkup is saying.

Being the Gambit fanboy that I am, I can agree that the Gambit clix is just about perfect, especially after playing him in a few online games (that stealth+perplex+EE combo is really handy :)).

I also think Iceman is just about right as well. He has everything he should.

Now, Storm, while I don't think she got the shaft exactly, she should have some more variety to her powers. She's pretty much a flying Boomerang as her figure reflects. Storm is known for using her powers in a lot of different ways, and she seems too straightforward to me. I like her E version though.
