Because hes infected and can't shoot, although in the 3rd game they could :ermm:

Exactly. In the third game (and I don't really recall them not being able to in the others but I'll take your word for it) they could not only shoot but on the higher difficulties could kill you from any range where it was physically possible to hit with it. If they wanted to be as true as possible, they'd have both a 0 range version to represent the earlier games and a 24 range version.

Also, maybe them being able to shoot in the third game represents them evolving intellectually, or the Gravemind getting smarter.

I am a true Halo fan and I can tell you that the flood were able to shoot in all the halo games that they appeared in. So I'm confused as well as to why he has a gun but no range.

I too find their lack of range... disturbing. He's (it I suppose) is even holding a plasma rifle! Otherwise, I like. A pretty strong melee combatant for the points. Slow speed is kind of a turn off, and the damage is best realized if you push (also giving you toughness and a higher def), but it seems pretty solid. Flurry with two damage is always nice, as is stealth. If you really want to, throw some Ambush on there for some juicy +2 action. (I suggest charging into hindering terrain to go after a Batman Ally or something, since Ambush applies when you make the attack.) Keeping it in melee against a low point fig is probably it's best use. That or using it as a retaliatory back-field defender.

well maybe they did start evolving or something. i dont recall them shooting in the first two games or being able to speak but in the third game they could.

They shot in all three and started talking in the second game. So he really should be able to shoot. Maybe it's a misprint on te dial that will be fixed later.

they could shoot in all of the games they are in but i think they should be stronger because they always do a ton of damage when they close combat attack you
