I just bought DC heroclix yesterday and I'm learning more about it. It only came with 8 figures however and its hard to make armies with just that selection. So is it ok to buy a marvel booster and combine charectors as long as my total points is the same?
Is this also allowed in tournaments?

Thanks for the help.

Tourneys are almost always either Marvel or DC but not both. Occassionally you will see a mixed tourney but, at least to me, they're pretty rare. Playing at home or for fun though you can mix to your hearts delight. Although there are some different powers, the rules are the same.

My friends and I all mix pretty regularly in our games although certain characters seem to be more effective with mixing than others. DC characters seem to have lower scores as a whole but tend to have more powers than Marvels. There is no surefire combo though and it's worth the fun value of seeing teams like Wolverine, Swamp Thing and Blastaar running around.

Depends on the tourney. Typically tournaments don't do mixed games, although some will do thigns like Marvel vs. DC. My shop actually does allow mixing, so you can have all kinds of crazy combinations. This tends to create a lot of cheesiness, but it is still a lot of fun to throw say Batman, Nightwing, Daredevil, and Spider-Man all on the same team. Check with your shop and find out if your planning on tournament play, but if you are just playing at home for fun, then mix to your hearts delight. The rules are such that Marvel and DC are completely compatible, and while there is some difference in the kinds of powers each has, they still work well together.

According to the judge I play with there is a reason that you rarely see mixed tournaments. The reason is that Wizkids has decided that they aren't going to support mixed tournaments. So those places that are running mixed tournaments are either providing their own prize support or are risking getting their support pulled if Wizkids find out that they are running the mixed tournaments.

Partially correct, part incorrect. Yes officially the tournament must be listed as DC or Marvel. But because Wizkids allows us as judges to use house rules, we can create mixed tournaments at our specific venues provided all players are notified in advance.
