View Full Version : Is it worth playing this game?
I don't have many people to play with around me, so I was initially tempted. Seeing the prices and all the other nonsense has me kinda gun shy though.
What thinks you all?

edited because I'm a dummy.
All you need to do is just get one person on board with you. I can assure you that if you get one other person more will follow. With this game you just have to jump in and do it. If you stand on the sidelines and watch you will not get the total awesomeness. I suggest that you and a friend each get a starter pack (different ones would be best) they run about 20-25 dollars. they come with dice and a map. After the first game you both will be craving for more. Be sure to stop by the wizkids website for a rule book and have it with you while you play. You will not regret it.
Sorry for being clear, I two friends that play the "real" game with me from time to time. I really really like it, but we don't have time to meet and play very often.
I meant is HCO worth it.

I think it is very worth it. It's not half as expencive as ppl make it out to be. Yes the boosters are $11.95 but the auction house has most figs for much less. I'm fairly certin you could collect the whole set minus the chases for about 50$ or 1000CB. Also if you want to buy boosters don't just buy and open them play sealed events that way you get your boosters and the chance to win some all or more than your CB back.
There are ppl on just about all the time due to timezones so a pick up game is eazy. Don't let the doom and gloom of these forms scair you away. It costs 2$ US to get an account which includes the FF starter. For another 10$ you get 200CB which is more than enough to buy a good team from the auction house with CB to spare. After a few fun games try out the constructed tournaments they have a cheap 1$ buy in and winner dbls his money 2nd gets it back for 4 player. Bigger rewards in sealed though and you always get the figs from your boosters win or loose.

I bought it for the dollar - its pretty good so far - I just cant see spending that much. Maybe I will use the auction house like you said
