I have greatly enjoyed modding, and I have 5 games under my belt, but I would like to get some feedback and constructive criticism. One thing I like to do is experiment, and I think they make the games more fun for me, but I would like to know what you guys think about that, or if you would rather have more straightforward games and such.

So far, these have been my games:

The Game: Marvel Vs. DC (Paranoidmal) Extravaganza! (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?t=295514)

Doctor Who: The War to End ALL TIME!!! (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?t=304092)

Idiot Meal (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?t=311322)

Facebook Mafia (http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_230534263627170&view=docs)

The Guild: If I can't play The Game, then kill me now! (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?t=323618)

(Doofus it Yourself was about 5% me and 95% VDB, so I will not take credit for that)

I think The Guild has been your best game so far, but it was hurt by the loss of a key mechanic early, as well as non-participation from other important players.

One thing you have to account for is the loss of key roles early, and account for them. If you have a 20+ player game, and your SK gets taken out on Day 2... you may want to include a "Spoiler" bit to another role that will help speed the game along. You can trigger it if you want, or don't.

Make sure your scum *know* their scum as well. And try and get some uniformity around win conditions. The only real problem I can remember in Guild was the whole "the Town knows their alignment, why don't you?" issue.

Role PM confusion should never be a viable reason for lynching, IMHO.

This was 1 of 2 big lessons I learned with Guild (I told every Townie "You win when all threats to the Town have been eliminated" but I never told anyone "You are Town"). My other big one was to make sure there is not broken synergy in the Mafia (JK was worded "they are blocked and they are a RB Nexus" and then another player had "Your kill cannot be blocked". They only got away with it once before the killer died).

Power interaction in HCR Mafia games is one of the most frustrating - but also most fun - parts about being a moderator.

I, personally, love to treat it literally, and however it would play out, that's how it goes... but sometimes paradoxes and over-powerful interactions occur.

Don't be afraid to change your mind.

Guild and Facebook were the two I played in.

Guild was great, even if I was alone for most of it. I agree with Darq's points, and I would also suggest replacing players as soon as possible when they are inactive.

I saw no problems with Facebook at all.

Every player in Guild posted at least once each day phase or sent in their action. Nobody missed 2 phases in a row. That is why I didn't replace anybody, but man people just didn't participate.

I will have to look more fully, but I know that people were posting at least once on a lot of the phases without giving any real contribution (kobo, suga).

Don't get me wrong. I still had a blast and did an AWESOMe job of demolishing the town. It was one night of bad luck that did me in (this jailkeep misdirect).

I know, and don't get me wrong, I am going to be pretty replacement happy from now on (I did replace rico with Quebbs pretty quick), but I think quebbs was the only person to respond to my request for a replacement (and it took me foooorever to get enough players to begin with).

The lack of participation was my least favorite part of the game though.
