Am I correct in assuming you can target objects?

If so, say I have a character with explosion and a ranged attack. My opponent moves next to the object. Can I target the object with explosion? Since the damage would be reduced to 1, the object would remain but the opponent would take splash damage?

Can I substitute a wall in the above example?

[I tried looking at the PAC to make sure of the wording of Energy Explosion, but I couldn't get to it at this point in time (everyone looking at the Xplosion Figure Gallery I'd guess)]

Thanks,
Brian

Also, what if the opponent figure is standing on the object?

No, you cannot target an object or wall with Energy Explosion.

From the FAQ:
Energy Explosion does not affect objects or terrain; it affects only characters. A character with the Energy Explosion Power that wishes to destroy a square of terrain or an object must turn off Energy Explosion in order to affect it.
