View Full Version : NBA 2011-2012 Yahoo Fantasy NBA League (if there is a season!)
decided to make a new thread since it is a new season (maybe)
i PM'd everyone who posted in last year's thread about joining this season.
i have created the league already and have sent out 4 invites but so far no one has joined:ermm:
anyway hopefully there is a season and we can actually get it going this year!
to anyone who is interested feel free to PM me your e-mail and i'll send you an invite! hoping for 10-12 players at least but if there are more interested i could definitely allow more (if we get more than 12 i may make the roster sizes smaller though)
so now it looks like the season is starting Christmas Day... i tried starting one up a couple months ago but nobody joined except for one person... if anybody is still interested now that we are having a season, sign up here or PM me again!

i haven't even set up a league yet, cos nobody has given me any e-mails, except for lensnart just now
i'll set up another league right now, if you are interested PM ME YOUR EMAIL! if you know anyone else interested, please tell me who or make it easier on me and just ask them for me! they have to be realms members though!
league is all set up! it will be an online live draft, tentative date & time is set to Tuesday Dec 20th at 8 PM (Eastern Time) but is subject to change
if this time doesn't work for a lot of people i can change it.

If you can make it about 30 minutes to an hour later, that would be ideal.

That's funny. I was just going to ask if you could make it an hour earlier. 8PM EST would be unlikely for me 9PM is almost certainly a no go. 7PM or earlier and I am good to go.

Cool. I think my only bad days are the 22nd, and Mondays and Tuesdays between 8 and 12 EST. Also I think I had something on the 24th and 25th but I can't remember what.
well first people need to join (i sent out a couple invites already, did everybody get them? how come nobody is signed up yet?)
i don't want to do less than 8 but 10-12 would be ideal.
so hey i sent out like 8 or so invites so far only 2 people joined...
would sunday the 18th work for everybody? was thinking of starting somewhere between 7-9 pm east coast... if this works for everyone let me know, but everyone has to sign up first!

That works for me, but we should really make it 8:30-9pm ET for a start, I work until 8pm ET on Sundays. :ermm:

Well, I'd still like to have had Dirk but other than that...uhm, I guess I'm happy? I've honestly no clue what I was doing other than trying to keep as many bases covered as possible. :)
Do wish there were more Nuggets worth drafting.

I never got in. Did I at least get Stephen Curry? That is all I really care about. That and not having Kobe, Kobe is not welcome on the Pinky Pie Express.
I'll make due. Drafting first almost forces you into building around your opponent's versus building for yourself. But at least you get a one of the best early. That and I got caught up and couldn't make the draft so it's a crap shoot for sure.

The draft was fun. It'll be interesting to see how my team does. I think I've got a pretty good team, but it's a little different than Football.

Rokk, I took Andre Miller as my back up PG. I am probably going to Start Okafor as my 2nd Center over Bynum, cause Bynum only averaged about 25 mins last year. It will depend on who the Lakers are playing I suppose.
Kontrol, who did you end up with at guards? I remember it being like round 7 or 8 and your PG and 3rd G spots were still empty! Picking 1st isnt bad. You get 3 of the top 15 players. There's a fair drop off after that, but I think it balanced out.

Good luck with Bynum. This season could be pretty bad for injury prone guys. (And older players, which I hope doesn't happen as I took Duncan.)

No one knows, sure they'll play more games in a shorter span, but overall it's a condensed season. Injuries will be less forgiving though because of the reduced time for recovery relative to the season length.

Not to mention those back-to-back-to-back games that are going to be tough for everyone.

Let's see Jarrett Jack, Aaron Affalo, Kevin Martin, D.J. Augustin, and Demar DeRozan. Not exactly fear inducing I know.

C'mon, you know Bynum is good if he can stay healthy. :p He wasn't bad last year. I still have to wait to see what happens with Emeka Okafor and Chris Kaman in NO before I deciding if I will start Okafor or Bynum, but tha's a good problem to have I think. ;)

Well, considering Bynum is out for 3 games, I think it's a no brainer. Sadly, the league doesn't have points for "clotheslining point guards half your size" :p

Sorry guys I still haven't found my password and because I don't trust Yahoo I didn't use what one might call "real" information. Is there anyway to delete me as the owner and then invite me again to be owner. I really don't want to be the lamewad that never plays.

I've had a Yahoo account for around 15 years now, and I can't say they've ever given me reason to distrust them... What exactly are you afraid of?

Nothing specific really. I guess showing up on ad lists, sites getting hacked (a la Playstation Network), unwanted mail, phone calls, etc. I just don't like giving out my info. I am the same way when stores ask me for my postal code, phone number, email, or whatever.
Little sites like hcrelams.com I don't mind so much but with larger sites run by large business interests I would rather not if I don't have to.

LOL! What do you tell them at stores when they ask you for your phone #?
FWIW, in 15 years I've never gotten spam mail from Yahoo. Or any telemarketer calls either. Not sure what showing up on ad lists means.

I missed the last couple weeks due to some hectic weeks, but I have been trying to keep up with it for the most part.
my competition for the play offs this week isn't even active! what gives?
