View Full Version : 2 new dc and indy sets on the way, will there be less/more mixing in tournies?

first off i'm not a fan of mixing due to the wild card, outwit, stealthing and damage value issues among others with mixing dc and marvel.
and many have agreed and disagreed with this view. but i always thought that people who disagreed with the view were of 3 main factions (not that there aren't more than 3):
1) do not have firm enough grasp on the game and have never been abused properly by mixing as opposed to not mixing.
2) are dc and marvel fans that just like to see the two together and don't care about the mechanics of it-- which IMO is totally all right
3) have a lot of useful dc figs but due to the abundance of the more popular marvel game and its figures want mixed because without it they could never use their dc figures.
BUT now we have 2 new sets on the way with, no doubt, even more differences in the trends of attack and damage values AND powers...
will there be less or more mixing in tournies?

think wizkids is gonna start trying to better promote a non-mixing tourney strategy. why? because they're been very forthcoming with their want to have a world ranked heroclix ladder. due to the licences, they need to keep them separate. so, expect a pretty rigid dc/marvel/indy line at tournaments in the future, as they start ranking the players...
i personally take them at their word though, that the heroclix line is meant to be one game and completely compatible. so, yeah, i'm a big fan of mixing.

Actually I thought from Magecon they said. THere was Xplosion today, Cosmic Justice June, Indy September, and Marvel before the end of the year. This was according to the booklet that they let people have at Magecon.

Also I dont like playing DC but I do like fighting against them. Super Skrull's hated enemy is Unique Batman.

mixing..
well, If WK changed the "Joker" team abilities, I think we could easily mix DC and Marvel.
Joker (minions of Doom,Spiderman,etc.): can only copy 1 other team ability per turn.
because I feel that is the biggest problem when mixing both universes (there's a lot of Stealth coming out in Xplosion).

I like mixing. I guess I would say I am in the #2 slot. I love watching great minds from both universes working together to foil those pesky hero types. Red Skull and The Key. I just wish Marvel, DC and the Indy guys could say, ok, yeah let's let them mix them. (Cause you KNOW they do) It didn't hurt things in OverPower. Spawn, Wolverine and Batman on the same team, life is good :cool:
I really dont mind it, but i know were going to get to much of it (my self included)

Kraven: Heck...the same can be done in DC once we get a LoSH team member...which will probably come out in Cosmic Justice.

Wizkids already has a ban on mixed offical tournnments, due to licence's. I hope this ban becomes more rigid, i like mixed games but they belong at home in fun games notin tournaments.
