somebody please give me an explanation of why the vet hobgoblin is 62pts and ultimate grenn goblin is 62 points yet all GG stats are higher and more power. how can this be?

I'm not sure the point formula changed (that'd be like changing a football field to 140 yards in the middle of the game). What I think one has to consider is the fact that Hobby has the Spidey enemy ability (moderately expensive) and GG has no team ability at all.

Does look a little odd. I'd bet incapacitate is a more expensive power than super strength and energy explosion. Both super strength and energy explosion are very situational powers while incapacitate is always an option when you attack (though maybe not often a good one) Don't think it accounts for the entire set of differences but it helps. Perplex has always seemed like a fairly inexpenisive power. I have no idea how willpower works out on the cost scale.

One other thought, though this is pure speculation on my part (as was much of the first part) its possible uniques get a discount on pricing since they are uniques. Technically they are less useful than non-unique characters since you can't use multiples. whether its enough of an issue to translate into a cost difference, can't say for sure. though looking at characters like the unique IC elektra makes me think its likely.

This is how rumors start. No offense intended but I've followed pretty close what people (WK, JL, etc) and I never heard such a thing. Of course I could be wrong but I would just like to leave this comment before this goes any further.

I think the people that commented on the difference in team affiliation are on the right track here.
