Silver Surfer: green ring
2 arrows
10 range
Flight
Team: Defenders

This skill piece offers power, versatility and tough decisions for his controller. His abilities are a story in themselves.

Silver Surfer starts out with Running Shot, 2 targeted incapacitate, invulnerability and a solid 4 damage. This is to represent how much of a pacifist Surfer is. He can use incapacitate to give lesser threats a warning but does enough damage to attack a true enemy head on.

A small injury puts him on his "firelord" click. Doing a massive 5 points of damage with ranged attacks! As soon as someone finds a way to damage surfer, he knows that he's in for a real fight, so he pulls out the guns so to speak. He still has incapacitate for a less lethal alternative.

After he is injured, he gains the amazingly powerful Hypersonic speed while keeping incapacitate and gains support. Use Hypersonic Speed and Support for a surprise combo! Norrin knows that if he's injured, his teammates must be even worse, so he will use his power to heal if needed, he also goes full power and uses his speed to his advantage.

Then Surfer enters his next phase. He gains toughness, psychic blast and Outwit. This is probably the only time you will ever have a chance to heal him. Whatever hit surfer, caught him off guard, for now he is only tough. He drops his peaceful incapacitate powers in favor of a much more damaging blast. He also uses the power cosmic to partially negate any advantage his opponent has (outwit)

He then starts to rely on his cosmic awareness like never before. He knows he's injured so he goes on defensive mode, gaining a huge boost in defense and supersenses. at this point in the battle, surfer has regained from the devastation that has been delivered to his body. He has sustained enough damage to soften him up, but he still has his cosmic awareness to help him avoid being hit

On his very last click, his body is in total regenerative mode, unable to cause harm but able to both heal a teammate or regenerate himself. nuff said!

I think you have captured him perfectly. Excellent job. The question is though, how many points? I suggest 240, more than OWAW Superman and justifiable as he does everything well. Just my thoughts

Sorry, I'm still a bit confused. Modified from a previous character creation or modified from an existing character as a base . .

Sorry for the confusion; we use green rings to signify custom bases. We haven't had the time to actually make them yet, but soon we are going to make all of our custom figure bases and rather than have a yellow, blue, red, silver or gold ring; they will have a green one. The "green ring figures" started out as modifications of existing figures we thought were given the shaft. Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Juggernaut are a few of these, but now it's for any custom base. Thanks for the feedback by the way.

My fault really, I don't usually read the posts in this area but Norrin's one of my favorite characters. Thanks for the clarification!

I didn't have anything to add; I think you've done a great job interpreting the character into HC :)

Excellent write-up. Of course, he's extremely powerful but I see him costing more than even LE Superman. If costed correctly, I wouldn't have a problem with this guy in the game. Take note Wizkids, Surfer IS possible to make , as seen here. He can be taken down.

If I were to change him, I'd make his first click weaker than seen here. Surfer is a very naive individual, he gets tricked by just about everyone and screwed over (heck, he had the naive flaw in Marvel SAGA). Sure, if he shows up to fight he's ready for battle, but it's the same logic for why Colossus starts in human form. I'd lower attack by 2, defense and damage by 1.

Good stuff.

240 is too much 200 maybe. maybe a bit more but 240 is too much.

All I have to say, Doc, is that you've done a terrific work!!!!!!
You completely captured the escence of the one and only Silver Surfer.
I have a request, If you have time, could ya do one for Namor???????
Thanks if you can. If not, thanks anyway!

Perfect...all I can say is perfect.

I'd love to field the Surfer in an army, but WizKids and their "too powerful" made it seem impossible. Let's hope they read this. Then maybe we can have another but kicking Herald of Galactus.

Oh wait..Herald...he'll be broken right away for being to powerful....;)

I think this is a good representation. Although it is different than I would have done, it does have possibilities, and was very well explained.

Thanks for all the great feedback! :D

Hadez: Im a big namor fan, so I'll be glad to try to design one. I don't know if it'll be good or not, but I'll give it a shot.

JayThor: Yeah, thats the cool thing about silver surfer. You can tell he's a really great superhero, because his powers can be done so many different ways that make total sense.

Just ran it through Retardog's cost formula and he came out to a massive 252 points! Doesn't really surprise me that much...he is incredibly powerful!

Oops...forgot regeneration..makes him 266! Wow.

In my experience it's the most accurate formula to date, go to http://brotherhoodofthefin.com/retardog/index.html to check it out
