Well last night I got 7 boosters for Xplosion and no Shellhead...but I traded off figures I'd never use for the R & V versions of him. Pawned off V Storm, E Beast, R Collossus for V Mandarian. Rest of the guys averaged buying 12 boosters each. They all got an Apocalypse and one got two Spiderman's. We then played just using Xplosion. Gambit and Psylocke were great in any version of their stats.

1st game: 400 pts? 4 player game with teammates. My Vet Iron Man whacked V Doc Samson, Phoenix, V Storm and SERIOUSLY wounded Storm and Abomation. Think I killed more with them though. V Iron Man IS War Machine. Used energy explosion far more than his ranged expert...use a perplexer or two with EE ;-) Iron Man only took one click of damage and pushed himself once for the last round to blow mutants off the roof.

2nd game: 200pts. I went one on one using my V Mandrian, R Psylocke, 2 hand ninja's vs R Iron Man, R Destiny, hand ninja, paramedic. Iron Man won, Mandy would have got him if it wasn't for the paramedic. Iron Man's regenerate really helped him.

3rd game: 300pts with teammates. Using any figures now. My R Iron Man died badly vs a tk'd in Spiral. My side went downhill has since I built my team around him.

Overall Iron Man is THE MAN! Kinna pricey, need alot of support to get him where you need him. Yet still too good not to use.

hmm can't edit for some reason. Traded a V Colossus and killed Storm and wounded Colossus I think.

uhm, you can't perplex energy explosion damage up... You can perplex his attack rating up, but not the energy explosion. Perhaps you meant you used psylocke and her enhancement...?

I may be incorrect on this one, but I don't think you can perplex energy explosion, only use the shield guys to enhance it.

Your right I had psylocke to help with EE, used the Con Artist to bumpup my attack rating so I didn't miss it.

Actually, R Iron Man *might* ne usefull for the running shot/EE multi-shot combo.

Hold on a minute Thorgrin, I've seen it done once to me in a match. My opponent used a Veteran Boomerang. Heck, it was done once to him also. Are you sure you can't perplex damage when you want to use Energy Explosion?

Perplex raises one printed value on the dial. Energy Explosion reduces the character's damage to 1, no matter what is printed.

You perplex damage before the attack begins. The Energy Explosion description is clear that when you begin your EE attack, you reduce damage to 1. (effectively making your perplex a wasted one)

Yep, very sure. I'm sorry it happened to you in a match, though. :( If the judge rules it so, then you're kinda stuck, but I'd be sure to point out the sequence of events and you can't interject another action in the middle for the sake of bumping up an attack. You also would not be able to bump up a pulsewave attack because, like energy explosion, you can't bump up the damage in the middle of the other figure's action. Same could be said for Mind Control, Incapacitate, BCF and Support.
