I think this has been asked before, but can't find a thread for it. How can you reshape a cape after removing it? I've seen threads where after stripping paint with polish remover it get rubbery. Is that the best way to go?

I'm trying to take a spectre from MK and basically wrap it around a figure so I can make an Hourman 1,000,000 figure. If I can get my sister's digital camera I'll post the other two 1,000,000 figures I've done so far (Supes & WW). Just thought they would be interesting. Working on a Robin 1,000,000 now and the Hourman. But the cape has me a stopping point for Hourman.

Getting it warm with a hotair hair dryer will make it soft enough to reconfigure, just hold it in it's new pose while dropping in icewater to set it.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Is there any other way you know of? I shave my head (I was pretty much going bald anyway) so I don't have a hair dryer, and don't really want to pony up the $ for one.

I used my space heater. Crank up the heat for 5 minutes and things get REAL soft :)

I'll be buying a hair dryer soon

The important part is heat. Considering that a hairdryer works, I'd imagine that emersing the plastic in a hot cup of water ought to do the samething. I'd reccomend the obligatory caution.

Yesterday, I got some boosters at my luchbreak and left them in my hot car. When I got back to them, about 4 hours later, they were plenty soft. I straightened some figures swords by holding him in front of the airconditioner. It was still in place this morning.

I'd be concerned with how the long-term set would be. I've reshaped deformed clix using all sorts of heating and cooling methods, but eventually, there seems to be some "memory" in the plastic and they re-deform within a couple months (albeit not as deformed as the original problem).

That may be true about the "memory" of the plastic. I have heard of the figure reverting if it gets hot again. I haven't enough experience to say but here is a possible solution.

1.) Let the figure set in the cold water then, when you reposition it on the figure try to glue it in place and make as many points of contact between it and the figure or base. That should at least help out some.

Thanks all! I'll give it a shot.
