I bought a few boosters while waiting for my case, I hope it comes today, but anyways back to rookie Storm. I have one of these figures and I just noticed that she has the old style base, the current AE style base, but it is black. I also have the E Storm and she has the new style base started with the DC set. Are all the rookie Storm's like this? I just wonder what's up with a flying figure with no AE having the old style base. Maybe some black molds were left over?

She is AE with every character from Infinity Challenge with a black base. I hope this helps.

It didn't seem to be that funny the first two times I read it, but sure HA HA HA HA! Good one chum.
DA89- It appeared to be a joke, not a good one, but a joke nonetheless.
Now back to the thread, is this like Pyro with a MOE team ability or are all of the R Storm's like this?

They're all like that, I've seen the same thing with the Veteran Storm. I guess they goofed on her base.

My rookie Storm does have the IC style base. It has no effect on gameplay however, as only colored bases indicate AE's, much like in IC.
Maybe they just had extra black ones that weren't used. So they used it on her, Just a thought.

I pulled a rookie that is not on a flying base and does not have the "winged foot" symbol.
I went to the Wizkids gallery and looked. They don't indicate whether or not she can fly, and they use a flying base in the rookie picture.
Based upon the description:
"Her Experienced version changes drastically to reflect the time she was stripped of her powers, became a strong leader, and relied on her close-combat skills."
And based upon sculpts they show on the site, it seems she should not be able to fly as an experiecned version only.
Anyone else get the non-flying rookie?

Here's my guess: They had Storm made for the first set, but due to the powers that be, she was held back from IC. Since this expansion is X-men based, it was a good time to release her.

Personally, I think WizKids intended to put Storm in the first set. If you notice, her Rookie and Vet versions don't have any of the DC super powers AND they have the original bases. However, the Experienced version has the inverted base AND has Perplex. I think they changed her Experienced stats once they realized the IC set was going to be too big to include her in that set. So the pulled her and with the extra time they had, they changed her dial. They didn't bother changing the Rookie or Veteran stats since they didn't need to change from what they were previously.
