First off I think he is pretty sweet, but I do love vet taskmaster. ANyways...I think we should rename him from Abomination to Mer Man. I mean...honestly, he looks like mer man doesnt he? That way I can say I have He-man Hero clix also :p

But seriously, folks...
He was my forst pull from my first box of Xplosion, and I was impressed with the sculpt. Not necessarily the pose and especially not the queer blue speedo...but the detail was impressive.
And then I looked at the stats.
For 100 points, you get leap/climp all the way down, and that's a long way down a very deep dial...superstregth all the way down....toughness at the last click...he's pretty incredible and he already took out (e) Mandarin ...and his own taxi via mind control, without scratching a single green scale.
In my book, he replaces (v)Bane as the best bruiser in the game, even though he costs a little more. The dude is a big green one man army (with funny ears).
BUY HIM. PLAY HIM. WIN WITH HIM.
OmegaMan out.

Oddly enough, I pulled (v) Taskmaster yesterday as well, and he was on the same team as (v) Abomination...and here's the thing: with all the stealth in Xplosion, Taskmaster's range ability was useless. We played an all Xplosion game, and I only had one Taxi, so I gave it to the big green elf. Maybe next time I'll try giving it to taskmaster and see how he fairs. His dial isn't as deep, though.

He is trey sweet Omega man, dont get me wrong. He can be a bane like machine. I agree abt the speedos but in all seriousness...Mer-Man. When I use Mer-Man in the rest of my games I will have to use the Mer-man voice when doing an action w/ him.

I think Doc Samson's Vet owns Abomination... sad but true.

True abt Taskmaster. Not as deep. But his 12 attack w/ BCF is pretty deadly. Then he gets willpower to keep pushing. I dont think you can win w/ just him of course so u'd need 'the big green elf' or someone else to take the pressure off of him. I still like him the most so far. I pulled a vet iron man and does look sweet. I was thinking abt a team that I can use w/ him and I think I got one. maybe some hand ninja's or Aim agents. This way he can carry them to add to his ranged attack value...11 instead of 10 is much better. I use a Vet. Doom team that I can sub Iron man in I think! That team has a u. Elektra, vulture 2 rook shield snipes, e aim agent v aim agent...w/ the xtra ten pts I can do more..hmmm;)

Hmmmm....V Abomin....uh, Mer Man vs. V Doc Sampson...
Now THAT will be a real 'slobber-knocker'!!
Based on my brief Xplosion experience, I gotta go with the Doc...

I got an Experienced 'Bommer last night, and I couldn't be happier. Finally someone with leap/climb and Super strength, to beat up on those annoying stealthed Nightwings on rooftops. One hit with a red object, and poor Grayson's down to his last click.
I've already set up a Mandroid/Mystique/Abomination team, for the TK in Perplex up one hit kill.

I don't know how one could argue that V Samson "owns" V Abomination--unless you *really* need the Charge on the first clik. Granted the two up-front Perplex can be versatile, but if you need Perplex, there are better figs to use. And again, Samson has lower stats across the dial with one less clik of health. IMO, Samson and Abom are both "bricks" and Abom is better at doing what he's on the team to do.
For self contained mayhem, Samson beats out Abomination for being able to perplex up his own damage, charge and pick up an object, then hit for 7 in one action.
Abomination is solid through and through, but will take support and at least 2 actions to hit for more than his (same) base damage of 4.
They both have pros and cons, but I think this is what people are thinking when they sing praise about the Doc.

I can see where you're coming from, azs. If I need "self contained" Super Strength mayhem, I think I'd still stick with She-Hulk -- or even Thing-- before I went with Samson. But I guess if you don't have the extra points (and for this type of fighter I'd try to make sure I have those points) Samson is a decent alternative.
