Silver Samurai has got to be the best new harasser in the XP set. In particular, his exp. and vet. versions. Phasing and good to excellent speed allow him to move about the map freely. Toughness on defense allows him to ignore Poison and shut down most medics and ranged combat specialists like the SHIELD Sniper or Bullseye. Ignoring damage with toughness, he can afford to push or clear, then attack with B/C/F. An excellent fig in my opinion, and a great stand alone figure that can forgo a taxi if need be.

Well, I simply have to agree.
I bought my first 5 Boosters today and I'm pretty happy that I got a V Silver Samurai.
I'll test him in my next game.

You're assuming he gets into btb with the medics, snipers, etc...from that standpoint, no argument.

It remains to be seen whether he will unseed the IC Unique Elektra as the BCF'er of choice, though.

He may have toughness, but his DV is very low and there's no stealth on his dial.

I noticed him when saw his stats and I must agree he's great. I'll go even further by saying he's great in all three versions.
I only own the rookie right now but I am looking for more.

By the way,

A month ago I reviewed all the figures and I made the call then that the vet silver samuri could replace the U elektra. Look back in my posts and you'll see it.

As a harasser, he might fit the roll of a Quicksilver or Whirlwind. In the vet., he can stand 11 squares away from a shooter, just out of their range, and then move to base them.

I'm probably reading too deeply into your post, but you don't mean he IGNORES damage from pushing because of toughness, do you? :ermm:

Obviously, the only ability that allows a figure to ignore such damage is Willpower.

Plus if the match is going bad, use SS to blind your opponent and make your getaway ;)

I got the vet and right now i can say he's gonna be a staple when im playing indoor maps. I can see it now:

Me: And Samurai gets a 5 on B/C/F, there goes your V Bullseye.
Other guy: YOU CHEATER! I HATE YOU AND THIS GAME! YOU SUCK! HEY JUDGE!

Umm, ok maybe it's better I didn't imagine that.

I was psyched when I saw that Silver Samurai was in this expansion. He used to get smoked by the X-Men (particularly Wolvie) in the books all the time.
Now to read that he's actually useful makes it even better.
Beware Silver Samurai's revenge!!

I should have explained that better. Here's an example. You have vet Bullseye perched in a sniper's position, ready to go. I have vet SS 11 squares away, just out of your range. On my turn, I can cover the entire distance between Bullseye and SS and base Bullseye. Because he's based, Bullseye can't make a ranged attack, and his one damage will be ignored by SS's toughness. So, on your turn, you can try to break away, or try to roll a critical hit. On my turn, if you don't run, I can clear, or push to try to take Bullseye out.

Silver Samurai is definatelly going to be in the upper tier of harrasser characters even if its only indoors.Just keep a few walls between you and the enemy and eventually advance behind thier ranks as they start their offensive and cut them off from thier support

I figured I was reading too deeply... :o

I agree with the Silver Samurai's usefulness. From what I've pulled so far, there are a lot of useful figures in this set. Many with a good balance of powers for the points.

I recently played a 300 point using my Unique Green Goblin and Experienced Taskmaster. Taskmaster drew fire like crazy.

While some figs, like Iron Man, might be costly for 200-300 point teams, Samurai fits right in.

Silver Samurai has done no wrong in the few times I have used him thus far, and I am only running with the rookie. my opponents feared him by the end of the day and did what they could to stay away from him, but that didn't work so well. although...I guess it didn't help that he would consistantly roll 5 and 6 for his b/c/f. :)

I just need a vet version now...

I used the Veteran Silver Samurai last night in a tournament and he rocked! That 11 attack is sweet! Old Silvy chopped up a veteran Taskmaster base to base after Iceman flew him in. Everytime Silvy started to get beat up, I would phase or fly him out. Paramedic healed him up, and he went right back in. Unique Electra still rocks, but she just can't take the beating SS can.

Yep he's good and Scorpion I would say is up there to if not second best. For 29 points Leap/Climb and Toughness.

Yeah scorpie's got L/C, toughness, low attack value, almost no range and no real ability to hurt any of your opponents non-support personel. I'm a fan of the scorpion in the comics and I have to say the heroclix figure has 0 chance against any version of spidey.

Yep your right rookie Scorpion doesnt stand a chance. Vet Scorpion on the other hand would give spidey a run for his money.
