He hits hard. Besides that perplexing his energy blast up to 2 damage and then hitting two targets, when he's with Dr. Oct. he gets it up to 3. I had two guys get hit for 6 damage each on one attack!
The obvious answer is don't stand next to each other, but even then he can do 4 by himself with running shot or 2 to two targets. If i hit him he masterminds it away.
What's the best tactic to take him down before he does too much damage. I was thinking incap. but his 17 defense is tough to hit and if i miss too much, he's only going to take those guys out b/c if i'm in range...so is he.
What's the best way to take out this monster??

first of all the people you're playing with are cheating, you can't perplex damage on EE

You could just use Exp. White Queen or anyone with Psychic Blast. Mastemind or Invulnerability are ineffective against Psychic Blast.
I may be wrong but I dont believe that there has been a ruling that psychic blast ignors mastermind.
mastermind is not a damage reducing power, it transfers the damage to another figure.
and as far as how to beat doom.....rookie black panther or any other figure with outwit and hes toast.

Dr. Doom is usually screwed when Mrs. Doom yells at him to clean up the garage. If you know your opponent is going to field Doom, try to play him on the weekend, when she will most definitely be home and noticing the clutter...
Make sure there's noone standing next to him to whom he can mastermind the damage away
Either outwit mastermind
Mindcontrol the person next to him and use that person to attack doom (only works if there's only 1 char next to him)
Or just do so much damage that if he masterminds it away it will kill the char he's dumping the damage on :)
"GroovyBoy, DOOM needs no wife. DOOM had a girlfriend once. Once. Go read the newest issue of Fantastic Four and see what DOOM did to DOOM's ex-girlfriend. DOOM knows Fantastic Four comic should be called 'DOCTOR DOOM and others.' DOOM will track you down, GroovyBoy, and teach you a lesson about talking trash about DOOM."

Outwit his mastermind and he's done.
Any figure with RCE could take him down dramatically.
Or taxi vet. sabertooth or any figure with charge. Outwitting mastermind, he's almost nothing.

Doom, I just told my wife what you said, and she's gonna tell Mrs. Doom all about it tomorrow at book club.
You're in trouble...you're in trouble...
(my advice is to have a lackey or two to Mastermind damage off to when Mrs. Doom gets home)
Anybody else notice how the R/E/V versions of Mrs. Doom are each 1 point more than the respective versions of Dr. Doom?
Anybody wonder why Doom created all those Doombots who act like they're Victor himself? So he can sneak outta the house and watch sports, go fishing, try to kill Reed Richards...you know, guy stuff.
"DOOM curses all of you lesser mortals for thinking DOOM could be taken down so easily by simpletons. If you do take DOOM down it is only because DOOM willed it so it would further even greater plans that DOOM has put in motion."
"DOOM also concedes... wait, DOOM never concedes to anyone or anything!! DOOM will allow that if a DOOM is killed it is only because a Doombot confiscated DOOM's clix base while DOOM was in the "reading room" developing new ways to achieve domination over all."
"GroovyBoy, DOOM tells you there is no Mrs. Doom. DOOM is losing patience with your lack of Fear and respect for DOOM' omnipotence! Do Not make DOOM angry lest you shall feel DOOM's wrath!!"
"DOOM declares that only Susan Richards is deserving to be DOOM's wife. Susan is not yet DOOM's wife because DOOM has not willed it so yet."

So can you perplex EE or not? It says in the faq you can use the shield power to enhance, but does that mean you can perplex it as well?

Perplex affects the printed value, not the damage of the attack, so perplexing up the Damage of a figure doing EE doesn't do any good when it's then reduced to 1. :)
Enhancement and SHIELD increase the damage of the attack, not the printed value.

Thanks Zod. I thought it was awfully cheesy, but the first guy i saw do this is a HC judge. I'm glad another judge replied.
How do i stick it to a judge in a tourney situation? Is there protocol for it, or should I just never play with him even though it's the only place in the area holding tournaments?
Judge should be playing in a tourney that he's judging. That seems like a conflict of interests. I played the rookie doom in a 300 point game recently, and the tactic used against me was to drop all of the minions. It was fairly successful, but just continually pounding on him until there were no more minions left worked pretty well too. B/C/F and flurry is nasty. I think that charaters with that combo are really under valued. Spiral should cost a whole lot more than 50 something points.
oops...Judge should not be playing...

I played against a SHIELD Agent/V Dr. Doom combo in a 300 pt game. I played R Kang and E Blaastar with a medic and some taxis. Basically, I took out the SHIELD Agent first as he was really upping Docs damage. This had two effects, it knocked out his +1 on damage and removed his Mastermind sacrifice. I then smacked him with Kang and between the two of them was able to KO Doom on the 10th turn.

Agreed, the judge should not be playing. But it could still be a problem if he has influence over the ruling judge. So talk to him before the tournament, point out this thread, research the rules for perplex and EE. I'm not even sure if there's an FAQ entry, though, since it's not even in a grey area.

Basically the way I see it you have 2 problems.
problem1: You need some way to let the judge know he was in error.
My suggestion:Print out this thread with all the judges responses and show it to the bad judge in question. This should convince him enough that he'll at least check it out next time he's online.
Problem2: You need some way to avenge your lost honor.
My suggestion: After you show him the error of his ways with a printout of this thread smack him accross the face with your dueling gaunlet and challenge him to a duel. Tell him he has offended your honor and you choose to face him with pistols at sunset. Draw your pistol before he does. Don't miss. This solution is more socially acceptable in a southern state.
Disclaimer: Do not actually shoot anyone. I will not... I repeat will not, take the blame if you actually do go and shoot someone. This post is for entertainment value only and should be taken lightly with that in mind.

Yeah, he said for Marvel tourneys they played "the 3 judge rule" so that they could all play. I assumed that meant if you had 3 judges present you could all play.
When I played against him, it wasn't a tournament game, but the other guys said he had won a bunch of Marvel HtH's with that team using the perplexed energy blast technique. Or perplexing his damage after declaring two targets, therby doing 2 to each or 3 to each with doc ock's perplex helping. I assume this too is illegal?
Anyway, it was my first time to play with those guys, and they were all cool, so i'd hate to not go back. But it does irk me a little that the first judge i ever met, doesn't really understand the rules.

Yeah, you can't perplex damage on multi-attacks either.
The damage is reduced to one. Multiple arrow attacks can be boosteed by an adjacent Shield or Enhance, but not Perplex.
sometimes if there is a uneven amount of people the judge or the comic store owner will play but it counts as a by so the person dont have to sit around and watch. but that only happens if there are not many people there cause the judge does have to judge the games. i have found batmans quite effective against dooms (they effective against almost anything). stealth outwit good damage. plus he has willpower so he can hit 2 turns in a row which can hurt doom big time. he also has 2 arrows incapitate that can shut doom down. V nightwing works well too casue he has better atk then batman.

I hear that Mrs. Doom gets really irritated when Dr. Doom speaks about himself in the third person all the time, especially during bedplay...
"Doom wants to be on top!"

How many times must DOOM tell GroovyBoy that there is no Mrs. Doom!?!
DOOM is prepping his Doombots to track you down GroovyBoy and disintegrate you. DOOM will then take your ashes and send them into the Negative Zone.
DOOM says that even if there were a Mrs. Doom-- which would be Susan Richards-- DOOM would never say: "DOOM wants to be on top!" DOOM wants for nothing. Whatever DOOM wishes it is so!

Boy, I hope you don't lose your temper like that at home in front of the little Doomlings...

You know, just for argument's sake, I play mostly highly-competitive games, but if I get the opportunity to run V Doom, I run it. Doom is just that ####ing cool.
Also, he completely destroys any game that's 400 points or above. I randomly ended up playing a 700-point game once and it really didn't matter that my opponent had OWAW Superman and V Thor. V Doom, V Doomsday, E Hulk, V Bullseye, and Doombots as far as the eye can see basically wins any stupidly-pointed game.
So yeah, Doom rocks.

The three judge system was banned in January. A volunteer or venue may no longer play in an event that they are working.
It tended to cause confusion at, at the very least, the perception of potential fraud.

The Doombots did stop by today, so I bought two boxes of Thin Mints, two boxes of Peanut Butter Patties, two boxes of Shortbread Cookies, and six of Caramel Dee-Lights. My family loves those Dee-Lights..... I told the 'bots to say hi to Mrs. Doom for me.

Alright, GroovyBoy, you have now made DOOM's List.
DOOM appreciates RacerX's admiration of DOOM.
Now DOOM bids RacerX to take care of an annoying gnat that is beneath DOOM's full attention as of this moment. That gnat being GroovyBoy.
DOOM must now get back to his ulimate plan of making DOOM's Veteran Doctor Doom Hero Clix compatible for all teams, no matter the point value. There is no exception or substitute, DOOM commands all teams should have Veteran Doctor Doom on them.

Is that some cryptic way of saying 12 boxes wasn't enough? C'mon Vic, you know your kids aren't the only ones selling stuff in the neighborhood. Franklin Richards is doing the candy bars for little league, and Xavier's school has that caramel popcorn thing for the j.v. field hockey team.
Give my best to Mrs. Doom!

.......................
DOOM is becoming annoyed by you GroovyBoy. Just as the tiny gnat eventually annoys the staunchest of men.
Your vile humor reminds DOOM of that infantile Spider-Man and the childish Human Torch. DOOM is beginning to think that you are one of them. DOOM must get DOOM's minions to hack into your computer and ascertain who you really are.
DOOM thinks that only if all Americans were as simple as GroovyBoy then the USA would soon became an annex of the great Sovereign Nation of Latveria and ruled by DOOM !!!!

Are you trying to invent some kind of friction between us so you and Mrs. Doom can get out of bridge night?

The only way to take down Dr. Doom, if the guy controlling Doom is smart at all, is explosion. Get it? Got it.
