ok, something that has never made sense... how can 5 inch tall wasp taxi the very large and heavy Hulk?
I know 'it's a game mechanic and get used to it'.
I have an idea for the taxi boggle. something simple. on the order of mastermind special ability complexity.
simply put, a figure can only taxi another figure if the taxing figure has speed mode fly and if the figure to be carried has a point value equal to or less than the point value of the carrying figure. with the exception that this rule not apply to figures with both speed mode fly and super strength special ability.
What do you think? i have tried it a few times and it sure does make sense.
Now you my scream "but now my vulture is USELESS!!!" well, vulture can't taxi Firelord to the healer, but vulture CAN taxi the healer to the Firelord! Just have to re think some tactics. all in all it just makes sense; to my feeble mind anyways.
Have a nice day

ya know, that is probably the most sensible rule change I have ever seen on these boards. BUT I usually am against rules changes.

Wow. I thought super stregth was a good rule but you know.. I change my mind. This is better.
A flying figure can carry another figure of equal or less point value.

I like this change a lot! The Wasp's ability to carry Hulk has always bugged me, but I couldn't come up with a suitable alternative. Requiring taxis to have Super Strength seemed too limiting, but tying taxing to point value is excellent!
Super Strength is a logical exception.
Well done!
<of course, it will never happen... :) >

What gets me is that you have characters who cannot lift a filing cabinet, or mailbox, who are picking up people weighing 200 plus pounds and carrying them around.
I think its a great idea changing the taxi rules to reflect the fact that it takes some strenght to lift a person for an exteneded period of time. I'm all for super strenght being a must for taxis.

Changing the taxi rules would be absolutely horrible for game mechanics, though.....Think of how slow the game would go if you had to move your heavy hitting, high point value characters in position one turn, and then either pass or push to be able to use them...And then they would have to sit idle for a turn......Even though it can be a little lame having wasp taxi the hulk, it is necessary for playability

It's good rule, BUT, remember, that there is supposed to be a level of simplicity in this game. Since they started coming up with FAQ's that simplicity has all but deteriorated.
Not everything has to make comic sense in this game. Because after all, it is a game. Not everything can be translated from a limitless enviornment (comics) to a more limited and structured enviornment (Heroclix).
I say the taxi rule is fine the way it is.
For the record, I am not a power gamer. This is just my opinion, based on how I see the game.
Or how about the taxi only gets to move half movement while carrying somebody unless he has superstrength. Wouldn't carrying somebody dlow you down!!
Or Because in a logical sense all of your actions should happen at pretty much the same time. The taxi'd character can not move for the rest of the turn?
Just food for thought!

I've always had a similar problem wrapping my mind around Wasp carrying anyone. I really like your option but I still have a problem with her carrying any normal sized character. I also have thought ground based characters should be able to carry people (at least those with Super Strength). How many times have we seen Flash zoom someone out of dangers way.
Why not modify your rule to allow lesser point characters to carry higher point characters - only they must push to do so?
Now, don't get me wrong, the game mechanics work perfectly for map based, 2d-tournament play. My suggestions are for home-rules games only.
Currently we use these rules:
Assisted Movement:
„h Any character may taxi/carry a friendly figure but must be pushed to do so.
„h Characters with Super Strength do not push to taxi/carry friendly characters.
„h Picking up friendly a character or an object does not require the figure to be given a Move Action.
„h Friendly characters may be picked up or placed by flying characters anytime during the flying characterˇ¦s movement.
„h If a flying figure possesses Super Strength, he may carry another figure that is holding an object.
As Phil Dixon pointed out before, (where is Phil these days anyways) in the comics Wasp has carried Hulk.
And U Wasp costs 44 points, which means Vulture, Doombot, R Hobgoblin, Booster Gold, Manbat and Hawkman would be unable to carry her. Weight doesn't always correspond well to points, as V Spiderman and U Quasar cost more than Mr. Hyde, R Hulk, R Juggernaut, E Colossus and V Abomination. And the new U Elektra would only be able to be carried by Iron Man, Ultron, Thor, Thanos, Superman, Sentinels and Sinestro.

well, it was just a though i had.
i know that in one of the interviews with the game designers the designer mentioned how the taxi ability didn't quiote work out they way they had intended.
instead of weight you could look at it like experience perhaps. unique spider man can get there by him self, he don't need no stinkin doombot to mess with his new threads. etc. i dunno, like it hate it or love it, it was just an idea. we've played it that way a few times, and it really seems to work well, as long as everyone knows about it in the first place.
but anyway.
have a nice day.

Hey look. don't let these people rag you. It's a great idea and it's nice to see some unique thought put into the process. It's like it was staring us all in the face. Stay on that innovative track there hoss.

Here is my question: Superman w/ super strength can carry someone and the dumpster, but he can't carry an additional character instead of a heavy item.

Why SHOULD we rewrite a rule just because you don't like the idea of one hero carrying anyone else. Has Wasp ever carried anyone? It's a game, leave it at that and move on.
