I just want to press my soft lips against your smooth head.
Telling you that you smell like poop via the interwebs, is a close second to that.
You guys do realize I've previously reached all those Mafia milestones you were talkin about in the old thread, right?
Being lynched in a game you're not playing in -- been there, done that. It wasn't even a Day 1 kind of thing. It was like Day 4. :cheeky:

That was favorite Clix mafia, and I was Galactus. I had a pretty good giggle over that one myself.

Opened my one and only Superman booster yesterday, got the Bat-Man. Which should be a decent trade fodder for one of the guys in my group, if he gets Black Adam or Zod, or Darkseid, or Swamp Thing.
Also, it's going to be a rather Star Wars -filled weekend, some Old Republic testing in 7 hours, and tomorrow they're showing Star Wars Uncut on a big screen here in town, and will probably go and see it.

My grandma was admitted to the hospital today with blood pressure, well, higher than it should be in any human being. If they're able to get it under control with medicine and there's nothing else wrong, she should be able to go home tomorrow. But if there's an underlying heart condition, it's not going to be so easy. I'm really hoping it's the former rather than the latter, but I believe in the philosophy of "hope for the best; prepare for the worst."

I sure know that feeling. Both of my parents have been in and out of the hospital numerous times, with us being told to say goodbye to them this year. Luckily, they've made it through each time. My prayers are with her man.

It's never easy to watch a family member go throguh that, especially with how doctors are unwilling to give too much info because they're fearful of being sued. The entire situation is rough. You're in my thoughts, man.

Ok so I've decided to start designing a beginners game to get new players into the group. I don't want to go with the typical Batman theme so I was thinking X-Men. Likely Gold Team vs Blue Team. The roles should be pretty straight forward and I'd like at least half the game to be filled by newer players. It shouldn't be anything super competetive, especially for the veterans. more of a elarning tool for the new players. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I'm the same way. But in this case, you could always generate the roles and then select the X-men that fit.

Thoughts? Suggestions?
X-Men is an excellent theme that should appeal to a good majority of potential players. However, you might consider going with the X-Men movies, so that the pop culture appeal may be wider. Not everyone reads comics, but most people (I would think) have seen the movies.
Just a thought. Just a suggestion.

Magnito was in the middle of a long losing streak back when I started playing. I'm not sure how long it was, but I think it was at least half a year.
I cannot complain about a long losing streak after 100 Bullets 5 and 6a, 6b, and 6c.
And by the way, some of my mafia games just make me smile.
Revolutionary Girl Utena probably had the most epic ending. Final Fantasy VI had the coolest outcome. Donkey Kong Country probably had the most balance. SNES Mash-Up probably had the coolest roles. Mystic Quest had the least expected outcome.
Good times. And my current game is making me smile so much.

Just a heads-up guys. The last few weeks have been a bit more relaxed at work. Well that's all about to end. I'll likely have to go back to being scarce around here some time in the next 2 weeks. I'll do the best I can to at least keep my games running and post as much as I can in the ones I'm playing. I can't guarantee anything. Expectations of me at work are unrealistic at best. Baby could be fussy because he's hungry and not getting enough milk. Just make sure you guys discuss it, cause once you go on formula, there's really no going back if breastmilk quantity is the issue. The baby will usually prefer that free flowing bottle of formula every time.

Thanks to pay day last week, I was able to clear out my saver box at the LCBS. I was pleasantly surprised that the shop owner was able to get extra issues of the DCnU new 52 that I had left off my list. This included Batgirl and Animal Man.
I have not yet gotten around to reading the whole stack, but I had to check out right away the following titles: The Walking Dead #89, Action Comics #2, and Animal Man #1 and 2. I liked them all well indeed, but the real nice surprise was Animal Man. The writing and the artwork are a complete package. Two big thumbs up!

That was why I didn't think it was broken. With a cop, a tracker, a roleblocker, a doctor/bodyguard, a doubler/guide, and a vig, I was feeling perhaps the town was TOO loaded for you to deal with.

It was sheer luck that Velius targeted the villain night one, granted.
But I still think that the two parts combined were broken.
Effective yes. Broken, probably in a different game, or definitely one with more mafia.

Take it to a pawn shop. They have the commerical machines used to resurface the discs usually (at least they do here in Michigan) it's pretty cheap to have done, and it can resurface games, dvds, cds, blu-rays.

What JoH said. I think another one would be fine though. Different mods have different takes on characters and mechanics. The same theme run by two different people can be amazingly unique.

Normal uses it? I thought it was just Rokk
Rokk does it when it suits his purposes. normalview does it all the time.

Rokk's is Role-claim dependent. Normal and TAK are all the time

I am having this crazy idea for a game where everyone starts off dead.
There are three resurrectors at the start of the game: 1 Town, 1 Mafia, and 1 Neutral.
On N1, the people who are resurrected get to use their abilities the same night, thus getting the game underway. Rezzes take place each night, until all players have been rezzed. You can't use your role's power unless you have been resurrected. The rezzer doesn't get any information about who or what he/she has brought back into the game. However, once a player has been lynched/NK'ed, he/she is effectively eliminated from the game (and there will be no coming back once you are eliminated.)
What do you all think?
I could call it, "Mafia of the Dead".

Wasn't that sort of the concept behind VDB's first Apocalypse game?
Fun idea either way.

I am all for bringing old players back. I got RCricket55 to come back for He-Man. We'll see how that works. I also have 2 friends who are learning the rules os they can player my X-Men themed "new player" game. I'll be starting that one in late Nov, so if anyone has a friend in mind who's fairly new or never played at all, it will be very basic. I'd like to have half the game filled with new players. That would be 9 players.

Charles, I like that idea. Interesting twist on VDB's idea.

It would have to start in night phase to prevent a day one lynch.

Wooooo!!!!
I had more fun with that write-up than I likely had right to.
My Walking Dead game would be comics based, but I would expect a few characters unique to the show, because, why not?

It's a pastel blue, so bite me. :p
Probably won't hear anything for a little while... there might even be a second round to go through. Not sure how many people applied for the three positions. I do like my chances, though.
(Being a decade older than the other applicants, on average, with the experience to match, can be a positive.) ;)
Now, I go! *crosses fingers*
